Marriage under Fire Book 4 in the romantic suspense series has lived up to the expectation of a romance and a suspense thriller. This is the first time I am reading a story by Jacki Delecki and would love to explore the other title in the series.
The cover of the book is beautiful. The story started well and definitely pulled me in but I feel it slumped in between and picked up pace in the end. The latter half could have been more detailed and that would make the story feel complete.
The characters of Maddy and Hunters were fleshed out well but I would have liked it more if the characterisation of Guli and her daughter was a bit more detailed.
I would recommend the book to all those who love to read the romances with a bit of suspense in it. If you love to read romances of the people in uniform then do pick this one up. It's a light breezy read

In a short novel that takes place in Seattle, two Marines who just worked an undercover case have to jump right into the next one, pretending to be married in order to infiltrate a spy ring.
She’d be absolutely fantastic if she could dump some of the testosterone she forces on herself to deal with the men. Him I simply didn’t like at all, but I can’t say he’s all that different from most Marines I’ve known.
The whole denouement hinges on him being so in love that he forgets his training and rushes in without waiting for backup. As a former Marine, I find that far-fetched. I would almost say it ruined the book for me, but the truth is I wasn’t feeling it anyway. It couldn’t decide whether it was a spy thriller or a romance, and those two parts didn’t mesh all that well.
2.5 pushed up to 3/5

Marriage Under Fire is a quick, sexy story. Maddy Jeffers and Hunter Hines are two marines who have to pose as husband and wife. Sparks ignite and the romance is on from the start. Will they become man and wife for real? Read to find out. It's a well-written and good story.

This is part of the Grayce Walters Mystery series but can be read as a standalone, although mention is made to events outwith the book, there is enough information given for me to fill in the blanks. I tend to read series out of order, whether by accident or design I don't know!

Maddy Jeffers & Hunter Hines are both serving Marines. They have a passing acquaintance prior to this book as Maddy is friends with Hunter's sister. But having just come off a mission together, they are stuck right back in the line of fire, this time though they have to act as a married couple.

They certainly didn't need any help in the passion department to act as newly weds, their slow burn of attraction has been bubbling for a while and now they are both given the chance to explore it. But both are very conscious that the mission comes first.

Great tightly wound story, characters to empathise with and a tangible danger for them to deal with.

MARRIAGE UNDER FIRE by Jacki Delecki is a short, sweet light novella. This is the 1st book in the Grayce Walters Mystery series that i ve read ...i missed the previous 3 books in this series but again this book is a standalone .I loved it ..It is terrific , interesting from beginning to end .

This is basically a story of two Marines ,Maddy Jeffers & Hunter Hines put on assignment as a married couple to ferret out some terrorists .All kinds of sparks fly& there is sexual tension between them ... Can both of them deal with this attraction at the same time complete the mission given to them ???

i liked the book & am now eager ,curious to read the previous books in this series ... It was a beautiful, mature presentation of emotions, love weaved in a military adventure story ... As usual just wantto say Jacki has a excellent penmanship wen developing a plot, script ...I definitely recommend this book ...Just Go for it ..

A short and sweet read with some action sprinkles to spice it up, this was a book that I definitely enjoyed reading even though it is not a book that will stay with me.
This book concentrates on Maddy and Hunter and their very fast developing relationship and not on the frame story of them working undercover while infiltrating a terrorist cell.
Some minor inconsistencies and a somewhat rushed story but nevertheless a nice read due to the characters and their interactions. If you are looking for a story full of suspense and action, this might not be the right book for you but if you are okay with a sweet love story (with some not that sweet content though) spiced with elements of action and suspense, this is your book.
