Well, my love for Natasha Anders has never been a secret, she has a way with words that just sucks you in and this book was no exception. I really enjoyed the characters of Sam and Dahlia. They were sooooo different but they really complimented one another.

The dynamic between the two MCs was so wonderful. I love how he was so set against having a relationship and once Lia gave him the conditions, he was absolutely lost. He wanted her and didn't know what to call it. He went mad with not having all of her and it was such a beauty to read!

The writing was wonderful and well paced. Their love story was so believable because of the pacing of their story. It was revealed in pieces and not all at once, we were discovering what they were to one another with them.

This was such a different book from Anders' angsty stories and I really enjoyed it. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good love story with cute and endearing characters with a sweet love story.

3.75⭐
This is the first book I've read in the Alpha Man series, and indeed by Natasha Anders. And I did enjoy it, as not only was it set in a country I've never visited before either in real life or in a book. But the two main characters were likable, yet very different. As Sam is a former soldier who's abrasive, rude, bossy, foul mouthed and not at all looking for a happy ever after. Where as Lia is a buttoned up, sweet, polite, preschool teacher, who does charity work and is seriously looking for love and that elusive happy ever after. Yet, they worked together well and proved that opposites do attract and although the ending was a little flat. There was enough heat and storyline to keep me interested. Not to mention, many likable secondary characters, who I would certainly read more about, and I can see myself going back and reading Lia's sisters stories at some point in the future.

Sam is lucky that Lia is a very compassionate person who is always willing to help out. For me that was about all she had going for herself. I did not like her personality when it came to dating and having a fling as she called it. It was almost High schoolish I thought. I liked Sam though that was about the only thing that kept me reading this book.

The Wrong Man, Alpha Men, Book 3

POV: Third Person
4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I've read the first two books. This could be read as a standalone.
After Lia (Dahlia) called off her wedding at the eleventh hour to a pompous, selfish, vain jerk of a man. She's now looking for someone sweet, pleasant and comfortable.
She didn't plan to encounter Sam, a foul mouthed, English, disgusting and disturbingly attractive ex-army, now security detail/bodyguard. He's for the now moment when it comes to women,  he's happy with the meaningless hook-ups.
Months after Lia and Sam's encounter at her sister's wedding he's back in town to recuperate after being stabbed while on protection detail.
Until he realises that he needs help with day to day tasks. He asks Lia for help.
Will they continue from where they left off and have a no-strings attached affair?
Will it get complicated? Or will they just get it out of their systems and move on?

5 - "I don't regret a single moment and I wouldn't change a thing." Stars!

I have loved each and every book in the Alpha Men series. Seeing the McGregor sisters meet and fall in love with their men through each book has been total reading pleasure.

"Any time you want to rip my clothes off… I’ll be right here waiting."

And we finally get to Dahlia, Lia for short. If you have read the previous books you know exactly at what point of her life she currently is, initially the first sister to meet and marry her man, it soon became apparent in book one; The Wing Man that she was potentially walking up the aisle with the wrong guy. Luckily for her she discovered what a douche he was before any vows were exchanged, and has spent the intervening couple of years coasting along while she tries to decide what to do with her life, and watching her sisters meet and fall in love with their own men.

He was way too… everything. Too sexy, too arrogant, too male, and way too alpha.

One thing that wasn’t on her check-list, was to do one of the guests at her sister; Daisy’s wedding… several times in fact! Six months on, and Sam Brand the guy she thought she would never see again is suddenly back in town, and not for a flying visit either, but for a good few months of recuperation after a close protection job goes a bit awry, and he ends up with a few stab wounds and broken bones too boot.

Seeing her again… had reminded him how bizarrely hot he found that button-down librarian thing she had going on.

Typical male that he is, Mr. Brand does not a good patient make, and as I have come to expect with Ms. Anders (Anti)Heroes, he takes a little warming too. The dual POV does help massively help with that though, because although he is definitely the type of guy you’d love to hate some of the time, and a guy that you hate that you love on occasion as well, there is also a deep fissure of vulnerability running through him. And as the story progresses, you see it’s not necessarily commitment and relationships he is wary of, it’s more of a case that as a strong confident, Alpha male, he doesn’t want to admit to his absolute inexperience in such matters, so tends to avoid them instead.

"You’re the proverbial rolling stone… I’m looking for a rock. Someone steady, reliable, interested in establishing some roots…"

But Lia isn’t a Fling type of girl, even though they both insist at the beginning of things that, that is what it is between them, and rules are firmly laid out to be adhered to in relation to their shenanigans to prevent any emotional attachments occurring. But the heart wants what it wants, and what initially started out as a black and white frenemies-with-benefits type arrangement quickly begins to get awfully blurred lines, when the rules start being broken, inadvertently and on purpose.

"I want you back in my bed. For however long I find myself here…"

As with a lot of this author’s male characters, I love the way Sam tried to do the right thing or a nice thing, but went completely the wrong way about it, it makes the heart strings twang reading of a confident guy fumbling around in the unknown to try and impress, or show a woman that he cares about them, and Natasha gives great voice to them when doing so as well.

"I didn’t take you for a cuddler…"

I think Sam and Lia are both characters you are going to either love or hate, as they are both pretty extreme but in an opposites attract kind of way. Sam is a crass, blunt (almost too blunt at points) straight-shooter, who pleases himself, says it how he sees it, kind of guy.

Sexual frustration, combined with constant pain and discomfort, were not conducive to charm and good behavior…

Whereas Lia, is a people pleaser, happy-to-help, prim, never a raised word, kind of woman, looking for a husband, family and commitment. Yet somehow together they work, even when they didn’t work, they still did, if you know what I mean!

"You were my rebound guy."

Loved this book, adored the series in general, getting to catch up with Daisy & Mason as well as Daff and Spencer was great too, and I really appreciated the fact the author gave them all a good send off with the epilogue. Cannot wait too read more from her in the future!

It meant more…

The hero in this novel is really unlikeable. Sam Brand crass, rude, and seemingly interested only in his own selfish concerns. First he seduces the lovely, but prim and proper Dahlia McGregor at her sister’s wedding to his friend. Then he forgets about her until he’s injured in his business as a bodyguard to a pop star. He travels to his friend’s cabin to recover in peace and Dahlia ends up helping him while he’s incapacitated. He decides it would be fun to pick up where they left off at the wedding with a fling while he’s in town. He knows that she’s looking for a guy who will settle down and marry her, but is having no luck finding anyone in their small town. She knows Sam is all wrong for her, but he’s also very sexy and she figures this might be her one chance to have some flaming hot sex as long as they keep strict limits.

Sam really seems obnoxious, but he becomes a more sympathetic as he starts hanging out with Dahlia as she goes around doing her volunteer work at an animal shelter and senior citizens’ home. So we see him change and become a better person through his stay in this small town amidst the camaraderie in Dahlia’s family. Dahlia starts off as sort of a wet noodle of a person, but she also grows and develops a spirit of independence and spirit that she didn’t have at the beginning of the book. I started off not really liking either character, but grew increasingly fond of them as the book went on. The author demonstrates that she could show development in a character, not just a plot.

One thing that had me puzzled a bit was that I couldn’t figure out where the story took place. Maybe I missed a clue early on, but it took me about halfway through the book to figure out that they were in South Africa. It was clear that they weren’t in England because everyone noticed Sam’s English accent. The other clue was that he’d had a long flight out to get to this town and then about a third of the way through, it was clear that this was a town in the Southern Hemisphere because of the seasons, but it could as easily have been Australia or New Zealand. I would have liked a little more clarity on that.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

Another great read that I really enjoyed it was funny and enjoyable read and I would totally recommend reading it

I finished this book feeling the same way I do every time I put down a Natasha Anders title: satisfied, sad and wondering how the characters are doing. Ms. Anders has a way of drawing in the reader to the characters' world, their thoughts and emotions. Towards the end of every book, the reader feels like the characters are her friends, and that she was privy to the emotional roller-coaster they had to suffer through to get to the happy-ever-after.

But full disclosure: The Wrong Man and I started on the wrong foot. For the first couple of chapters, Sam annoyed the heck out of me. He was an oversexed lug whose way of persuading Lia to engage in - ahem - intimacies bordered on harassment. I was tempted to sic the Me Too movement on him, to be honest. And then there's Lia, who was sweet but seemingly shallow, and a bit of a push-over.

However, I'm sticking by the 5-star rating, because they both grew on me, and over time, I felt the Natasha Anders magic working. I stopped seeing Lia as a weak, pathetic figure willing to settle for the next best thing just so she could follow convention, and started admiring her for knowing what she wants and who she is, and staying true to both regardless of what everyone else thinks. And Sam ... well, Sam won me over with his J/P ways (squeee!!) and his innate goodness. No, scratch that. The J/P ways were really enough to get me to change my mind. I'm that shallow. :P But really, the one scene where Sam finally won my heart came towards the end (until then, I was still kind of annoyed with his dumb ways and just sticking by him because of - all together now - his J/P ways). The caretaking scene sealed the deal for me. I wish more authors would insert scenes that show the H's nurturing side.

I'm ending this review the same way I end every review of a book I loved. Incidentally, it's also a prayer I make at the end of a book that captured my heart. DEAREST AUTHOR/GODDESS/SWEET MOTHER OF ALL THAT IS GOOD AND PURE: I implore you to write faster.

4 1/2 stars, I started reading Natasha Anders book quite awhile ago and each time I read one of her books I find myself getting wrapped up in her stories. her books aren't complicated and I'm not saying that as a bad thing. Her books are easy, easy to read and very easy to get sucked right into. Her writing style draws me in each time and the flow of her books just works for me. I have read both books one and two in the series so I knew what this book would be about and I have to say I loved every minute of it.

Dahlia was engaged and ready to be married till she learned what kind of man her ex was. Growing up in a the family Dahlia was the pretty one and always knew she would get married and have kids so when that plan fell through and her sisters found mean and fell in love Dahlia started to re-evaluate her life and her goals. Seeing Sam at her sisters wedding and before the wedding Dahlia did something she would never even think of and slept with Sam.

Sam is cocky and a ladies man he also worked hard to get where he is. Seeing Lia Sam thinks she's beautiful and knows he wants her...for the night. When Dahlia agrees they have an amazing time and because he can't get enough they also find time to get away after the wedding. But Sam doesn't do relationships. Then Sam is injured at work and has to relax and recover. Going to his friends(Mason) cabin Sam hopes that the beautiful Dahlia will agree to spend some time with him again.

Lia can't believe she is seeing Sam again but quickly realizes he needs help and agree's. When Sam keeps pestering her to have another fling with him while he is in town Dahlia agrees. With rules set to keep her heart out of it Lia and Sam set out to have some fun but the more time they spend together the more they begin to actually like the person the other is and then it becomes hard to keep their feelings out of it. But Sam doesn't want anything more and Lia wants new things in life. Thats what they each told the other, but do they really.

I have really enjoyed this series I loved all the sisters and the men they fell in love with. After reading them all I'm not sure which book is my favorite. Sam is brass and very cocky Lia was hurt and seeking a life of her own and they fell in love with a person they never thought they would. This is a great book and I loved reading it. It's one of those books that just works and you just want to pick up again once you have set it down. The Wrong Man is a perfect summer read, it's light and fun while at the same time has a great hero stumbling into love and not knowing how to handle it. A strong smart girl who finds herself and the love of her life. I loved seeing Sam being possessive and then being shocked with his self after because thats so out of character for him. I can't believe this series is over already, and the author does a great job wrapping it all up by the way. I can't wait to see what book comes next.

*Thank you Natasha Anders, NetGallery and Montlake Romance for this book.

I enjoyed in this book .Chemistry between Sam And Dahlia is very obvious. Book is full of humor, funny moments but also is full of serious moments.I will definitely read the other parts of this series and I recommended it to everyone who wants to spend some relaxing time on beach with some coctails and sand. This book deserve 4,5 stars.

This book did not do it for me at all. I didn't care for either of the characters. There was too much inner dialogue I found myself growing bored and wanting to just skip to the end of the book.

I enjoyed this funny book with crude Sam Brand and prissy, helpful Dahlia. This is the third book in the series, and reads as a standalone that won't have you lost or lacking details needed for this story, but does visit previous couples and does further their relationships in this book. I liked seeing how their feelings started to change towards each other as they got to know each other better, and how their was still some denial/resistance to how their feelings have changed. Overall, a very good novel. * I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and this is my voluntary and honest review.

I loved this book! This was a light read, not overly angsty, and the story drew me in right from the get-go. It was nice seeing familiar characters. This was the second book in this series, and while it can be read as a standalone, you will better enjoy it if you read the first in the series.

Maybe because I didn’t read the previous books in this series, but this one just doesn’t do it for me.
The story centers around Sam Brand, former soldier and now owner of a protection security company, and Dahlia/Lia McGregor, a goodie two shoe gal looking for love and a man to marry. After a sexual encounter, both decide that a fling is the answer for them.
Sam was just the most unlikeable male protagonist I have come across in a long time. Self centered and just a jerk. I struggle reading the book and felt compel to finish it more as a form of duty than pleasure.
Because the author dedicated time and effort to write the book, I am giving it a 3 stars.
I received this copy through Netgalley and Montlake. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

4.5 STARS

Uggghhhhhhh, how can a book be so deliciously sweet and so achingly painful all at once? Maybe it's because The Wrong Man is ALL THE THINGS I've come to expect from Natasha Anders but have never recieved all in one book before! This book has all the humor, heart and sweetness of The Wingman blended perfectly with the brutal pleasure pain of The Unwanted Wife. The cutting words and the unwillingness to commit by our brooding alpha male evolve seamlessly into a steamy yet reluctant romance between him and the eldest McGregor sibling... and it is everything  my angst-loving, romance-craving heart could've hoped for.

This book was such a treat. I've been wholly consumed by the McGregor sisters and their perfectly imperfect romances for three solid standalone books. And while I've throughly enjoyed them all, I have to admit that I missed the angsty pleasure pain of Anders' previous work where she so masterfully created roguish noncommittal alpha jerks with sharp tongues and cold emotions. (Yeah, I'm THAT reader.) So it came as such a thrilling surprise when, almost immediately, it became clear that Sam Brand was one of those guys. He can be so cold and hurtful and insensitive at times, which only made me desperate to turn each page and see his walls inevitably crumble. Let me just tell you, when glimpses of the hero beneath that alpha jerk facade began to appear, The Wrong Man turned out to be even better than I hoped.

I found myself unexpectedly laughing out loud throughout this novel. The writing is so sharp and witty, so perfectly peppered with such smart humor. But my heart broke often, just the way I like it, with the deliciously brutal war of emotions growing more and more complicated as the story evolved. I was as consumed by the romance as I was by the angst, by the most heart stopping declarations and the intense, swoony feels. From beginning to unbelievably satisfying end, I was swept away by Sam and Dahlia and it was everything I could've hoped for and so much more. The Wrong Man is gut wrenching and emotional, it's joyful and fun, it's steamy and so heartfelt, and the epilogue is the most satisfying way to send off this unforgettable cast of characters. I adored this story and I adore this author's work even more having read it. I can't recommend The Wrong Man enough.

I've read several and loved the author's books. Maybe I missed a better picture of the heroine/hero by not reading the previous books in this particular series? I didn't find her "swearing" (crumbs!) cute or how prissy and appalled she was he was hitting on her after they'd had sex. Then suddenly she can't control herself. Unfortunately, I didn't make it past the first two chapters as it wasn't working for me.

The Wrong Man is a good, solid romance, but the characters weren't easy to warm up to. Perhaps it's the attitude of the hero that turned me off in the first half of the book? Or, it could be that I haven't read the first two books in the series to get a good enough energy from them all as a whole? I'm not sure. This certainly wasn't a top favorite romance, but it did keep me engaged and wanting to read more. I will go back to the first two and see how I feel from there.

Seemed like a silly story with sex thrown in at the beginning to hook the reader in but lacked substance to keep the reader engaged,

Loved this book! In this story, we see more of Sam as he comes to town to heal after he was injured in an attack while protecting someone. He is the ultimate alphahole, while also sexy as sin. Lia enters a sex only relationship with him, even as she actively searches for a husband. It's a bit odd to have her sleeping with Sam while also going out on dates with other men, but that only adds to the story.

This is my favorite book in the series and it is a must read for fans of the genre. The author is on my must read authors' list.
