I must say that I was a tad disappointed that the series didn’t continue with the same crowd from book one. But once I started reading, I became okay with it. Definitely a fun read. Stephen was highly entertaining. Marcia really grew on me. Loved Jordie!!!!!! However Lacey and Marcia’s dad’s relationship was weird. Maybe if the parents had all gotten together and we saw how they interacted it may not have seemed so odd, but definitely not the norm. And Lacey seemed to half two sides. It was odd that her relationship with Marcia and that crew didn’t crossover with Hennie.

Loved the idea of Test Dummy! I wonder if that is a real thing????

The wonder women!!! Hilarious!!!!!

I wonder where this series will take us next?

Loved this book very much. It had just enough sweet romance and the storyline was great! I highly recommend!

I really wanted to love this book like Fling Club but I wasn't feeling it. I enjoyed Lacey and Hennie, but Marcia just wasn't what I think of as a true friend. Jordan needed a spine and Lacey showed him how to get it. He was a stereotypical rich kid not wanting to upset the flow of things and he just hurt himself. The only connection I could find to the first book was the high school they attended, Trinity. It reads as a complete standalone. I received a copy from Netgalley, review given voluntarily.

He Loves You Not was one of my first books by Tara Brown. I really liked the premise of the story, but I wasn’t super impressed with the execution. I struggled a lot to get through the beginning of this book. I felt like the first chapter was overly descriptive of the characterized and I found myself forgetting who a description was talking about because they were often so long. I also had a hard time reading it because of the sentence structure. Some of the wording often felt awkward and I thought the h was a little dull sounding. The sentence structure, however, improved throughout the book.
My biggest problem with the book was the characters. I felt that Lacey was incredibly judgmental. When she described her so-called best friend, the majority of it was things about her that she didn’t like and it felt like their friendship was very shallow. Also, I just didn’t understand how she would want to be friends with people who constantly looked down on her because she wasn’t rich. If my friends called someone peasants I definitely wouldn’t want to be around them and she felt like she was spineless because of it.
I also thought Lacey’s relationship with Marcia’s dad was pretty odd. Her best friend’s father was more of a parental figure to her than her own parents. He was also more of a parental figure to her than his own daughter. I felt sort of sad for all parties involved. I totally get friends parents being parental figures to you but it felt like he liked Lacey better than his own daughter and when Marcia said something about it my heart broke for her.
Another thing I wasn’t a huge fan of was the drama. At times it felt like this book was just being dramatic because it could be. It often didn’t advance the plot in any way and just served to make the characters less likable to me, for instance, at one point in the book Lacey got super upset at Jordan for seemingly no reason. Also, her ex-boyfriend kept getting brought up and I felt like there was supposed to be something more to the drama of him but he only appeared in the book for like 2 seconds so I didn’t understand the focus on him in the beginning.
Despite all this, the book was mildly enjoyable so I’ll give it 2.5 stars. My absolute favorite part of the book was the scenes involving Hennie and Lacey’s brother. To me, they were by far the two most likable characters and I enjoyed their part of the story so much that I would have rather the book been about them.

He Love You Not is an amazing read. You have Lacey and Jordan. Two people from opposite sides of the tracks yet both have their own struggles. For Lacey it's coming up with money for tuition to finish school and for Jordan to have freedom of his own life. Lacey is brilliant when it comes to marketing and when it comes down to it she puts those smarts to work with the help of her brother. Jordan and Lacey never expected to fall for each other. When this fetidity test goes to fair can you still trust someone. Lacey and Jordan are put through the test and are stronger for it. I loved this one.

Sadly, this book did not capture my interest in the first few chapters and I gave up.
I think the blurb on the book should have mentioned they were in college. I think my issue with this book was mostly I couldn't get into the age of the characters.
Probably a good book for others to read though.

This is my first book by this author.

Really cute. Once I finished this one I purchased the first book in the series. Interesting plot and great writing!

3.5
This was a fun read. Interesting plot and good characters. I loved the banter between Jordan and Stephen. Marcia was also hilariously endearing as the spoiled but loyal best friend. Jordan and Lacey definitely go through some hoops after an initial spark. The buildup was actually quite nice and felt realistic. The ending and the growth of each character was perfect. Would recommend.

He Loves You Not was a wordy Cinderella story that failed to capture and hold my complete attention. I found myself skipping chapters to get to the far-reaching end. I thought I would enjoy a light read, but I was bored and thought a lot of what I read was over-done plot devices with weird wholesome slang thrown in for a forced feel-good vibe. The older adult characters, like Marcia’s father was a caricature of what a great dad would be like— not realistic enough for my tastes.

I loved it not.

This one wasn't for me. I think sometimes I am too old, or these books are too young for me. It was a DNF for me.

In this, the second in the Serendipity series, we are once again in the company of privileged, wealthy college students to whom success comes easily.

Lacey meets Marcia La Croix at high school and quickly becomes the 'sister' Marcia has never had. They are welcomed into each others' families and Lacey partially lives the life of privilege that Marcia experiences.

But...It's the final summer break before Lacey's senior year at college and she is once again working for the La Croix family, juggling her responsibilities between work and play.

When Martin, Lacey's younger brother, becomes seriously ill her family are left with no choice but to use Lacey's final year of tuition to fund Martin's medical treatment.

Keen to keep her options open, Lacey takes on some work which although proves lucrative, puts her in some precarious situations.

Add to this her developing feelings for the 'player' Jordan Somersby and things go from bad to worse.

Thankfully, Lacey and Jordan find their HEA even when the road has many twists and turns, it is ultimately worth the possible travel sickness to travel along the road with them.

I can't wait to see where Tara Brown goes next with this series and what possible circumstances she can conjour to entice the reader to feel sympathy for those who seem to have the world at their feet!

I loved this book more than the first one in this series! Tara Brown does a wonderful job of weaving in socioeconomic differences in a world of wealth. Her characters are trying to figure themselves out in realistic ways through an array of issues that arise. The fact that the characters aren't always making the best decisions made me more invested in them. Lacey is such a hard worker, and I really appreciate the female friendship she has with Marcia. I went from wanting shake Jordan, to wanting to hug him. I love the back and forth between Lacey and Jordan too. This was a great read that evoked lots of emotions and made me so happy in the end!

An amusing and well written tale with a good plot and well developed characters. The story does start a little slow and takes a bit to get into. Overall, an enjoyable funny story. *I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and this is my voluntary and honest review.

He Loves You Not was my first book by Tara Brown. I didn't realize going into it that it was part of a series. But, I think you can definitely read each book as a standalone- although I have plans to go back and read book one next.

This story was more of a slow burn than I have read in a while, which I actually appreciated. I get sick of the insta-love that a lot of books and characters have. I really liked all the side characters; especially the two brothers. I hope they get their own stories or we get more from them in this series.

Normally I am a little leery about jumping into a series without reading the first book lest I miss characters or nuances that the first book set up. Happily, even being the second book, He Loves You Not was easily picked up and understood as I got up to speed.

Overall, a good read that made me think a bit (namely how true it is that socioeconomic situations impact relationships); all positive. The novel started a little slow, but once it got it up to speed, it was fast paced with the plot threads and had well-crafted characters as well.

I would read a future novel (or the first in this series) by Tara Brown without hesitation.

Not too cheesy, not cliche and touched on topics that I felt could hit hone with the readers. Not all your friends are in the same socioeconomic group and that affects relationships. The same goes for who you date. The Test Dummy situations Lacey finds herself in, I am sorry to say, are not unrealistic and I hope eye opening for some. It is sad that it is always a risk when alcohol in public is involved that that can happen, or No is not heard or respected. A great read that touches serious topics but covered in the wrapping of a chick lit.

Lacey Winters life was almost perfect. Of course she wasn't in the financial league as her best friend Marcia but she lived a good life and was going into her final year of College, with no debts and hopefully a great job lined up when she finished. She has been working over the summers as Marcia's Fathers business and he treated her like his second daughter. But unfortunately life throws some great curve balls and when Lacey's brother Martin is diagnosed with a life threatening disease, life changes.

She and Martin come up with a way to make money for her College fees and Martin's treatment, they had no idea how popular The Test Dummy would become and soon Lacey has more clients than she can handle and she has to call on another friend Hennie to help her out.

Bring into the mix Jordon Sommersby, a gorgeous wealthy guy who Lacey is very attracted to and life gets just that much more complicated. Especially when Jordan fails the fidelity test through The Test Dummy app.

This was a good fun read.
