didn't love the characters or the writing. some of the situations (most of them, starting from the beginning) were just ridiculously far fetched and also, sometimes, weird. Her reaction to this slightly crazy woman showing up at her mom's house, admitting she stalked her, and then asking to be friends was completely bizarre (ie, she seemed worried for her mental health but more in a, I'm going to be her new best friend way).

I've enjoyed Kieran Kramer's historical romances, so when I finally realized she's been writing contemporary romance, I was eager to dive in. This book was so enjoyable. I loved that the heroine's family was such an important part of the novel - it was so real and relatable. I also liked that the hero and heroine were still figuring themselves out. The side characters (aside from the family members) were wonderful too - fully formed. I'm going to go back and read Kramer's other books in this series - I hope there will be more in the future!

Sweet and funny, this is the 3rd book in a series about Two Love Lane. All 3 books have been funny and good reads, even though you know the outcome will lead to the happily ever after. Some of the dialogue regarding the nonnas was a bit hard to follow in one scene, but it was still a good read.

Hallmark movie romance-esque, an installment in a series I hadn't read yet, this lighthearted tale of long lost love was quick and uplifting.

Ella is a matchmaker at a house at Two Love Lane and is also an actress, involved with community theater in Charleston, SC.

Ella has moved to Charleston after breaking up with her lover and fellow-actor Hank when they were living in New York City. Ella's family has also relocated to Charleston sometime after the death of her father, who was her biggest supporter when she was growing up.

It's been ten years since the breakup, and suddenly Hank, who has become a mega-star, is coming to Charleston to make a movie. Ella is determined to avoid him . . .

The first chapter or so, I really enjoyed, but then the coincidences started piling up to force Ella and Hank together. I would have been okay with those, as this is a romance, and we want the heroine and heroine to end up together, but then the two of them proceeded to spend most of the rest of the book agonizing mentally, for pages and pages, about how much they loved/were attracted to/thought about the other, but they NEVER COMMUNICATE. All the quirky, lovable side characters do their best to throw them together, but they dance around what should have taken two grownups half an hour to cover right at the gitgo, since they both are still obviously obsessed with each other.

So that was frustrating. There was also a great deal of backstory about characters who are apparently in previous books in the series, which further slowed the pacing.

Altogether, I think this is one for readers who like sweet, lovable, good-hearted characters who might be a bit quirky, and a very low-tension plot built around not communicating until the very end, but spending a lot of time dancing around each other in charming scenery anyway. The pacing is leisurely, full of delicious meals, oddball characters, and lavish descriptions of the locale.

Second Chance at Two Love Lane by Kieran Kramer is a sweet heartfelt story of second chances. New beginnings await a young pair. Their future lies in their hands. I loved the father-daughter bond. It was engaging...and brought me a little closer to the main protagonist. I felt her passion for theater, as well as her love for her father. Ella is a woman who leaves people liking her. Her personality if warm. Determined and ready, Ella leaves to tackle a college career. She will be the first to get a degree in her family. I felt the happiness bloom inside of her. A young guy catches her attention early and it is from there that they have a connection. Love on the horizon...or is it? They proved they have the heat and attraction, but they need more if there is to be a future together. Overall, I loved the fiery banters and chemistry that was displayed on every page. Tugging at me heart, I will never forget this story.

I was given an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

This is the first book I have read by this author so I did not know any of the back story or characters but this did not seem a major issue.

It was an ok read with some humour. But for me, it was a bit too sickly sweet and lacked substance or depth. I just didn’t believe in the love story or the main male character.

2.5**

Seeing this Book "forced" me to read the series, so I purchased: Christmas at Two Love Lane and A Wedding At Two Love Lane in order to prepare me for this: The 3rd book in series. I recommend that for all readers

Second Chances at Two Love Lane is the third book in Kieran Kramer’s Two Love Lane series. Set in historic Charleston, these stories each have focused on one of the three partners in Two Love Lane Matchmakers. In this book, New York transplant and one-time aspiring actress Ella Mancini is featured.

After the death of her beloved Papa and breakup with the only love she had known, Hank Rogers, Ella needed a change. The opportunity to join her dear friends Macy and Greer at Two Love Lane comes when Ella most needs it. When Ella made the move to Charleston, the entire Mancini family relocated, too.

Now, ten years have lapsed since Hank left to make a movie and journey to becoming an A list actor. Meanwhile, Ella has become great at matchmaking for clients, but not for herself. When Hank contacts Ella asking her to help his cousin Pammy get settled in Charleston, then follows up by taking a lead role in a film shooting in Charleston, Ella is at even more of a loss to help herself.

Due to an unexpected visit from the Sicilian branch of the Mancini family, it is necessary for Ella to give up her apartment to the visitors. Pammy invites Ella to stay with her, but Ella is taken aback when she discovers that Hank is also staying with Pammy. What ensues is both heartwarming and heartbreaking.

This is a wonderful series and I have enjoyed each one. I only hope there will be more stories from Two Love Lane and I do recommend this book!

If you’ve read and enjoyed the first two books in this series about three women who run a matchmaker business in Charleston, you’ll enjoy this book. It’s more of the same about two people who are clearly meant for each other, but need to work out problems of coming from different backgrounds and locations. They do all this in the lovely environs of Charleston surrounded by kooky, but lovely characters.

The problem I had with this book was the hero, Hank Rogers. He met the heroine, Ella, when they were young. They quickly fell in love while each pursued the dream of achieving stardom in acting. She gave up the chance for a role that might have led her to stardom because she didn’t want to lose Hank. Unknowingly, he took the opportunity when it came and left her, becoming a major movie star and multimillionaire. She moved, with over 20 members of her family down to Charleston and built a new life. Now, 10 years later, Hank takes a role in a movie that will have one week of filming in Charleston. He hopes to build something with Ella, whom he has never forgotten.

It seems that Hank never thought of picking up the phone to call Ella or contact her in anyway. He still loves her, but he doesn’t do anything to even attempt to keep a relationship going. He even turned down the role in this film because he didn’t want to be in the same city with her. Then he changes his mind. But he never thinks beyond that one week and how they could have a relationship when he lives in Brooklyn and she lives in South Carolina. It doesn’t seem to occur to him that he could move there. Plenty of actors live some city other than L.A. or NYC. And it takes fewer than a couple of days for Ella to forgive him and bring him into her life in Charleston.

I just didn’t buy this undying love that either supposedly felt for the other. They were the two least interesting people in the whole novel. It’s not good when your main characters seem almost a backdrop for more vibrant minor characters or even the personality of the city.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book, as I have so many of Kieran Kramer's previous titles. The challenges facing Ella and Hank were concrete and easy to understand, and I appreciated that the author really made them work for their HEA. That said, there were a few little things that bothered me as I read, mainly in regards to the story's timeline. For example, both characters repeatedly mention that their breakup was "10 years ago," but if I'm remembering correctly, Ella says that she is 29. This is a problem because Ella and Hank's first date supposedly wasn't until after Ella graduated from college in Charleston and moved back to NYC, when she would have been 21 or 22. I get that people often round off when talking about numbers and time, but it still would have made a lot more sense if they had said their breakup was "ALMOST" or "ABOUT" 10 years ago, rather than repeatedly referring to it with an exact number. It also made it seem as if their relationship was very short, which didn't make sense since it was obviously such an important time in both of their lives.

On the bright side, Ella and Hank were both very likeable, and the secondary characters (especially Ella's Italian grandmothers, aka "the Nonnas," and Hank's cousin Pammy) were a lot of fun. I wouldn't mind seeing a couple of them get their own books.

This was the third book in a trilogy about three friends who own a professional matchmaking agency in Charleston, South Carolina. I have read the first two books, but I believe this one stands well enough on its own to be enjoyed by readers who are new to the series. The Charleston setting is delightful, especially for those (like me) who have had the pleasure of visiting the city. In fact, Kramer's descriptions of the city have me ready to plan a return trip right now! :-)

I loved the whimsy and joy in this book! There has always been a bit of the 'fey' in the Two Love Lane series, and I find it delightful. The characters are likeable, Charleston descriptions are engaging and the romance and soul-searching growth is expertly done. I would prefer to have the 'heat' in this dialed down to 'sweet', but otherwise it is a story with emotions that stays with you.

I have not read the first two books in this series but I must now do so. I love it! Well written, great characters and romance! Thanks to #St. Martin’s Press and to #NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

As our library is located in the neighboring county to Charleston, we will definitely purchase this title for our library.

I really enjoyed Second Chance at Two Love Lane that I received from Netgalley in exchange for a fair review. I did read a previous Two Love Lane book. I think that by reading the previous book I was familiar with the characters and already cared about what happened to them. I like the character of Ella, yes, she cares about romance, but also has enough self respect to value her own ideals. Her family is sweet, and I look forward to whatever Miss Thing will get up to next. If you enjoy a easy to read, humorous romance give this a try.

Kramer brings the heat in this romantic novel. Second Chance at Two Love Lane oozes Charleston charm coupled with Hollywood romance. Set in picturesque Charleston, SC, Ella has sworn off romance for her, and has set her heart on succeeding in her matchmaking business. Then Hank- her first love, and famous Hollywood movie star, waltzes back into her life... Is one week enough to rekindle their storybook romance?

Second Chance At Two Love Lane was not the "smoothest" story I've ever read. In spots it seemed to jump a bit too much, but overall it's a good story.

Our heroine's father was a loving man who indulged his daughter's love for theater and acting; always encouraging her to go for her dreams and not let a boy/man stop her career goals. However, fate always plays its part and she permits love to decide. End result...she now works at a matchmaking business and settles for small parts in the town theater group while the "love that got away" is the big star of the screen.

Our hero has all the fame and fortune and accolades to go with it, but still there's something missing. He still loves the "girl he left behind" but knows that he has no right to expect her to welcome him with open arms after all these years. Even so, he lets himself get talked into doing a role that's filming in his love's home town in hopes that he can see her again.

Will he get his second chance at love? Will she even deign to see him again? It's interesting how things tend to work out...

This is the first book I have read by this author.

Ugh the hero and heroine were bland, boring and read more like teenagers.

Ella was frustrating because she seemed like someone that things just happened to. I loved her family and her job as a matchmaker sounded interesting but I had no interest in her.

Hank was fine. I didn't connect with him at all but I liked him more than Ella.I wish had seen more of him as he was a little less boring.

The writing was strange at the beginning and this read like a slightly romantic woman's fiction with random high heat thrown in.It seemed to focus more on Ella and her family than Ella and Hanks relationship.I didn't believe it.

Just overall blah.

I enjoyed this book. The story flowed smoothly and I would look down and realize I had just ready 20 pages. I liked Ella and her big family. I liked Hank and the angst that lay between them. Miss Thing and Roberta were comic relief. There were regrets and what ifs like we all have. The story also showed many different relationships and how different people cope or deal with them. The only thing I didn't care for was the falling into bed. That is just me. This couple lived together, therefore, it isn't a stretch to imagine them sleeping together again.

All-in-all, I enjoyed the story and would read another by this author.

This is the first book I've read of this series, though I'm no stranger to Kieran Kramer. I adore her historical romances.

I enjoyed Second Chance at Two Love Lane, but it wasn't my favorite of the stories I've read of hers thus far. It's a cute story, low steam level, of second chances at love. Both our leads hail from the city and are hoping to become big in Hollywood. Ella turns down her chance to be with him and Hank chooses the opportunity and makes it big. Their love doesn't last and ten years later, a movie brings Hank to Charleston, SC, where Ella now performs in local shows and owns a matchmaking company. She's happy but she's never forgotten her one true love. Same with Hank, and he regrets leaving Ella.

There really isn't a nefarious character in this story, minus the "break-up" which takes on a character itself. I'd have loved a wee bit more tension in the story.

Overall, it's a cute love story, light on the heat, and leaves one feeling happy for their HEA.
