Second Chance at Two Love Lane was so much better than I was expecting. Typically, all romance/chick-lit books follow the same formula, but this one was different. I actually really liked the characters. They were multi-dimensional and valued themselves over being in a relationship. The book was well-written and moved at a quick pace. A great beach read!
I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
"Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review."
Loved this book very much. It had just enough sweet romance and the storyline was great! I highly recommend!
Really good book, The characters from this book were well developed. I am looking forward to reading more books from this author.
I completed reading Second Chance at Two Love Lane by Kieran Kramer this morning. I received a free advance copy in exchange for an honest review, which is the only reason I finished reading it. I could not get into the rhythm of the book, finding it to be clunky, contrived and featuring a heroine that I just did not like very much. I found Ella to be too one dimensional and perfect. I also had issues with the whole bit about her being a “matchmaker.” I realized after reading the book that this was the third in the series, so maybe the mechanics of matchmaking were explained in the first two books, but not having read them, I found this confusing on several levels. First off, in this day of internet dating services, who would use a matchmaker? How much does one charge and how many clients does the business have that it can successfully support a grand house, three partners and an employee? What qualifies Ella to be a matchmaker with a theater degree?
Sadly, I don’t recommend this book and I would not search out any other books by the author.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to write an honest and the opinions stated are my own.
Best of the three book series! You have to read them all!! Great story about Ella Mancini, one of three best friends who run a matchmaker business at Two Love Lane. Couldn't put it down!
I found this to be a very entertaining read. I love the Charleston setting, and the fact that the main character, Ella, is a matchmaker! Very Southern! It was fun, great characters and story. This author is new to me, and I will definitely be looking for more of her work!
I liked this book I had forgotten I have read a book by this author before I treally like Kieran Kramer. She makes her plots realistic and the reader can very much identify with the characters. You will fall in love with Pammy, Miss Thing, Hank and Ella and family. They will have you laughing and asking whats next. And by the end you will give romance a high five!!
A long time ago Ella Mancini passed on her chance at stardom because she thought she had another starring role coming her way, to become a blushing bride, but then the proposal was never uttered, and her supposed to be groom Hank chose Hollywood over their happily ever after. Now he has come back to town to star in a movie, she too has signed up to star in, and to say that she is nervous about the interaction after all these years is a complete understatement. For so long she has wondered what it would have been like if he had stayed, and chose her over Hollywood, and every time her heart breaks just a little bit more. She has a plan in place to keep her distance from her co-star, to keep the peace on the set, but what she doesn't know is that Hank has a few plans of his own too...
Second Chance at Two Love Lane is an unforgettable reunion story that is not only good for the heart, but good for the soul! From the very beginning you could see that these two deserved another shot at the happily ever after they missed out on ten years previous, but there was a lot of convincing and forgiving to be had, and boy was it fun to watch them rediscover what they lost. These wonderful characters pulled me into their world in matter of a couple pages, and had me in their corner instantly, I really wanted to see them make the most of this reunion and walk away from it hand in hand. This is my second visit to the series, and I have to say this visit was even sweeter than the first, there was so much to like about this one, it had drama to keep you enthralled, heartfelt emotion to tug on the heartstrings, and humor to instigate many laughs... it's the complete package in my book!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

Great romance about a second chance at love with a man from your past.....lots of fun characters this book is a must read if you love finding your true love again
Second Chance at Two Love Lane by Kieran Kramer is the 3rd book in her Two Love Lane series. Ella Mancini, our heroine, is a partner in a popular matchmaking agency called Two Love Lane, which covers everything from start to finish; finding the perfect match for the client, helping pick out the wedding dress, and the planning and preparation of the wedding event. She is partners with Macy, Greer (previous books heroines) & Miss Thing.
The start of the story flashes back to the Mancini family, as every year for her birthday, Ella’s father would take her to a Broadway show and dinner at Serendipity. As she became a favorite at the restaurant, she also got to know the busboy, Hank Rogers, who would eventually become her boyfriend in college. They lived together until Hank left to start his dream of a movie career. Ella had planned to go in the same direction, but she did not want to leave Hank, so she decided to stay home and forego her plans for a movie career. When Hank left, she was devastated, and decided to put all her time in becoming a partner in Two Love Lane and the matchmaking business.
10 years later, Ella is happy in Charleston with her friends, Macy, Greer, Miss Thing, and spending time with the Mancini family. When she hears that Hank Rogers, now a famous movie star, is returning to Charleston for filming on a movie, Ella is determined to avoid him at all costs.
Hank has stayed away from Charleston, mainly due to his not wanting to run into Ella, whom he still harbors feelings for, as well as guilt for leaving her. But he decides to take the movie part, with the famous actress Samantha Drake, and find Ella and try to get some sort of closure. Of course, despite their reluctance to see each other, fate has other plans.
What follows is a sweet second chance romance, between two people who have spent 10 years apart, and both still very much in love with each other. It was a lot of fun to watch them slowly restore their connections, and the chemistry between them reheated. I really enjoyed the secondary characters, such as seeing Ella’s friends again, the crazy Mancini family, and others like Samantha, Pammy, Roberta, etc.
Second Chance at Two Love Lane was a nice sweet fun romance, a great couple and some good secondary characters. Overall, it was an excellent story, which I suggest you should read, especially if you enjoy fun romances.
Love lost and found again. The complicated personalities of the characters made the book so interesting. Books story flows so well and keeps you entertained. Lovely romance.
This is my first book by Kieran Kramer and it will not be my last. After reading this book I now have to go back and read the rest of the series. Even though this is book three in the series it can be read as a standalone. The characters are very real and loveable. I was pulled in right from page one. This book has humor and drama and keeps you interested. Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press for this ARC.
I received a free advance copy of this book from the publisher. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
Every year for her birthday, Ella Mancini's father would take her to a Broadway matinee and then to Serendipity 3 for ice cream. As she got older, she decided that she wanted to be an actress and her father told her to never let anyone stand in the way of her dreams. That is also where she met Hank Rogers, also an aspiring actor, who had worked summers at Serendipity 3. The summer before she started college, they agree to meet 4 years later and have a date. That date grew into a relationship; they became roommates and lovers, while they were starving actors. Then Ella got an offer for a part, but turned it down, because Hank had been depressed about his career. She didn't tell him. A week later, he also was offered a part that would take him to Australia for four months. He accepted and was so excited that he forgot her birthday. She was expecting a ring. While he was gone, she decided to return to Charleston, where she went to college.
Ten years later she has been doing community theater and working as a match maker. Hank meanwhile has become an A list star. But he has distantly kept an eye on Ella and has never stopped loving her. He has become disenchanted with his life and when he is offered a role to be filmed in Charleston, his father uncharacteristically advised him to go and get his second change with the girl he has never forgotten. While Ella thinks of him as The (Former) Love of Her Life, she has never met anyone who could take his place. Will she be willing to give him a second chance?
This is the first book that I have read by this author. It is part of series and the author assumes that the reader has read the previous books. So while the main characters, Ella and Hank and Hank's cousin Pammy, who is living with Ella, are well developed, the others, I assume developed in the other books, are not. A short paragraph with their back stories would have been been helpful. I also found Ella's habit of having to discuss with her mother, aunts, grandmother and best friends before she took any action with Hank, as immature, and not the behavior of a strong independent woman, which she is suppose to be. Nevertheless, the main storyline is engaging with several other enticing stories running parallel, and I find myself now reading the first book in the series.
Kieran doesn't dissapoint with the third book in this series. Her characters are quirky, kind and passionate about what they do.
This story takes us back to the city of Charleston and the matchmakers at Two Love Lane. Ella, Macy, Greer and Miss Thing. They are all unique lovable characters that take their mission to find love matches very seriously. This is the third book in the Two Love Lane series. While I would recommend reading the entire series, since I enjoyed books 1 and 2, you can read each book independently and would fully understand the plot.
Kieran Kramer has such great imagination in her plots. I do not want to give away any of the book’s secrets, but the ultimate love date that is used by the matchmakers of Two Love Lane is truly a work of genius. I personally loved it.
Ella has a large Italian family that love each other dearly. She is especially close to her Papa. As a tradition began early in her youth, Ella and her Papa have a special arrangement to see a Broadway play and then go to Serendipity 3, a lovely restaurant afterwards, around her birthday. It is here that Ella Mancini first saw a busy busboy and definitely noticed him.
Years later, when Ella was ready to attend college out of state, the busy busboy, Hank Rogers, first spoke to Ella. He makes a date with Ella to return to Serendipity 3 in four years. They both show up and find out that they are meant for each other.
Ella and Hank also had goals that they were determined to achieve and they agreed that the goals were so important that nothing would stand in the way of realizing them. As life went on, a situation occurred that separated them. Hank left to achieve his goal and hurt Ella deeply. She then went on to find her true calling as a matchmaker.
Forward to ten years into the future, Ella is living in Charleston a co-owner of Two Love Lane, and Hank is a big-time movie star, going to a film shoot in Charleston! Ella is determined to be an adult and try to let her past hurt go away and not carry it with her all her life.
Ella and Hank meet up again and both are immediately attracted to each other. They are each other’s soul mates and they care so much about each other that they do not want to stand in the way of the other’s dreams. (Ella also does not want to be hurt again.) This is their second chance. Will they find a way to make the connection again and find a way to have their goals and also each other?
Kieran does an amazing job with the plot, the characters, the scenery and the background of making a movie. Knowing first-hand how crazy a large Italian family gathering can be, Kieran got that perfectly also.
I especially loved the character Hank, who was a success in the eye of the world, by being a movie star, but he still held on to his core soul that knew he was treated differently and did not feel worthy of the treatment. He still strives to find meaning in his life and find his true passion. His cousin Pammy was an unforgettable character. Definitely true to herself and an adventure to know.
I found the book so interesting and entertaining and I recommend it highly. I was so lucky to receive an advanced reader’s copy of this book. I wanted to write a review, in hopes that my recommendation would help other readers find this gem. Happy reading!
Kieran Kramer is a new author to me and even though I didn't LOVE this story, it was well written and for the most part, interesting. There were just a lot of elements of the story that didn't gel with me, starting with Ella. She was kind of annoying in the way she seemed to harp and obsess about everything. Second chance romance is one of my favorite tropes but I didn't love this one because there was just too much going on.
Some of the oddities that didn't make me love the story included Samantha Drake and her meddling when she hardly knew either of the main characters, and her friends seemed to be a little too involved in each other's lives. It just felt like so much was going on and not much of it featured Hank and Ella but rather them merely thinking about each other.
The story itself was decent but with so much going on, I found myself starting not to care.
What I liked:
The writing style
The characters
Standalone
HEA
Epilogue
I look forward to reading more from this author.
I loved the previous book in this series, A Wedding At Two Love Lane, so I was really looking forward to reading Ella's story. Unfortunately, I found this book to be a little too sickly-sweet for my taste - as much as I love the close female friendship aspect of this series, and helping each other find love, the extra characters chipping in (Samantha, who doesn't know either Ella or Hank, was far-fetched) detracted from the protagonists' reunion story.
The numerous subplots were too ridiculous for me and I ended up skipping pages to get past them. Ella's family drama added nothing to the story and was plonked into the story at the end; Hank's cousin Pammy was a caricature and little more than a plot device to stick Ella and Hank together; Samantha was just very confusing; and Roberta was the only legitimate subplot (having hired the matchmaking agency) with an incredibly ludicrous story line.
I am sorry if this review sounds harsh - blame it on me being so disappointed, because I loved the previous book so much! I think overall the story needed some harsher editing and more focus on the main plot.
Another welcome book in the 2 Love Lane series. As with the others, a gentle romance, perfect for light reading.
