Ella loves her life and what she does, but she always wonders what if. Hank gets an opportunity to go to Charleston his heart tells him, yes but his brain tells him no. Can they be in the same area and get along for a week or will the pain from the past just be too much?
It was nice to catch up with the ladies at Two Love Lane and boy do I just love Ms. Thing. I really enjoyed Pammy she was hands down one of my favorite in this book, she just said whatever came to her mind and didn't have a problem with it either. I also really enjoyed the Nonna's they are so fun. I felt the chemistry was off with Hank and Ella and it seemed forced, and then other times it felt more like a strong unbreakable friendship. I did enjoy the story but overall it just seemed like something was missing. This book does contain adult situations.
This was a good premise and well written story but I felt a disconnect with a lot of the characters. I kept wondering about references to the past. I think I would have enjoyed this more if I hadn't read this as a standalone.
I enjoyed this sweet romance about second chances and discovering what we really want. I love the Charleston setting, which is nicely shown in the story, and the growing rapport between the characters was fun to witness. While I enjoyed the new additions of Samantha and Pammy for this novel, one of my least favorite things about series focusing on one particular character per book is that we see so much less of the other characters whom we've grown fond of. The matchmaking business and the 3 friends running it was very enjoyable and interesting to read about, and I'm sad to see the series end.
My Rating: 3.5 Stars
Ella is a professional matchmaker at Two Love Lane, but her personal love life tanked years before when she lost the man of her dreams and her dreams of becoming an actress in the time it took to say “CUT.”
Hank and Ella were in love, but stardom called Hank and as he rocketed to fame and fortune, Ella became the girl he used to know, the girl he left behind, the girl he still loves.
Now they are together again, Hank as the lead male and Ella as a bit part cast member, can they rekindle the love they once shared? Can Ella trust in Hank? Can she trust herself to know what she wants or have the scars of love lost hardened her heart and shattered her self-confidence?
SECOND CHANCE AT TWO LOVE LANE by Kieran Kramer is the story of love lost, the fear of being hurt again and hanging on to the past a little too hard. Meanwhile, quirky supporting characters take a run at playing matchmaker themselves and it is nearly lost in the lack of communication and honesty between Ella and Hank. I wanted to see these two actually speak up and get out of their heads, particularly Ella, who acted more like a child than an adult at many points.
All told, not bad, just not my favorite from this author or this series!

It was nice to read another story from these series and now Ella has the chance to find love, although each of the books can be perfectly read as standalones.
The plot while it can be predictable, it didn't prevent me from enjoying the story. The characters are relatable and likable. I particularly liked Ella's relationship with her dad, but there were also some minor characters that had their moment to shine. And of course, there's the hero Hank who is determined to win Ella back. Being a fan of second chance romances, I was hooked and it was definitely very sweet.
I think romance fans would totally dig this book, it's light, it's fun, it's romantic, it has a nice pace, and I belive it'd make more than one reader want to visit Charleston!
Entertaining romance. I enjoyed the plot and the characters. I recommend to fans who enjoy a good romantic read. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this arc. This is my unbiased review.
SECOND CHANCE AT TWO LOVE LANE
(Two Love Lane #3)
By Kieran Kramer
I loved the cover of this book and wanted a light hearted read. I always feel terrible when I grant two stars, which doesn't happen often. With all the reviews I have written only one time did I give out one star. I usually enjoy all genres and I do have one more that is a romance novel that I am reading next.
It has a Christmas setting which I am apologizing now since this summer has gone by way too fast for me. I love summer and I can't believe it is August already:(
This book started out very promising for me in the first few pages. I loved how Ella and her dad went back to the same posh restaurant in New York City every year to celebrate her birthday. Whomever was serving their decadent desserts would take one look at Ella and say "It's on the house." It was all warm and delightful scenery for me as I could picture a proud father with his beautiful daughter at their table for two inside a snow globe.
On their last birthday celebration Ella announces she is leaving New York to attend college for four years. That last birthday celebration with her loving father a bus boy named Hank notices Ella and not only does he declare that their desserts are again no charge, they make plans to meet in that same restaurant in four years for their first date. Ella and Hank are both in love and she is expecting an engagement ring. They break up because Hank chooses to become a major motion picture leading man instead of choosing a life with Ella.
I am not giving away any spoilers here because all of this happens at the very beginning and it is not explored beyond stating a few sentences. I am afraid that at this early point the plot became much too predictable. This is the third book in this series so I am not sure if I should have read the first two first to appreciate this novel more. It was very easy reading and I didn't get confused at all.
Fast forward after a few pages and Ella is a matchmaker at Two Love Lane with her best friends ten years later in Charleston. Ella gets a phone call from Hank which she gets a message left by him that he would like a favor. She doesn't return his call and Hank shows up in Charleston. The only reason someone of Hank's status decides to shoot the movie as the leading man is because it will give him only one week to win Ella back. Hank stipulates that he insists Ella be given a small role with a few lines.
Samantha Drake from England is compared to a several Oscar Award winning American actress. Ella is excited to be given a role with the leading lady. Does Samantha have her own sights on Hank or is she sincerely trying to help Hank win Ella? Will Ella open her heart to Hank?
I really don't have a problem suspending belief in a novel if it has the ability to emotionally move me. I loved Diane Chamberlain's, "The Dream Daughter," and rated it five stars. It was a mixture of fantasy and science fiction but it worked on many levels. I really had to suspend belief with this romance on many different levels. I have already stated that I wanted something light with lovable characters and this novel does deliver it.
I really and truly am sorry that this just didn't work for me, but since it is the third installment in a series it may work for many other's. It is just my humble opinion and I applaud the author as a successful writer.
Thank you to Net Galley, Kiernan Kramer and St. Martins for providing me with my digital copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.
My review has been posted to Goodreads.
Review has also been tweeted as usual.
Thank you! :c)
What a great addition to the Two Love Lane series. Ella finally gets her chance, although it is slow in coming. She continues with her matchmaking services and gets caught up in her acting and not just in the community plays, but with two, count them two, famous movie stars. . Her cohorts and family all return, and the visiting Sicilian relatives which set the stage for Ella's happily ever after are all a bit off the wall which makes this series so wonderfully amusing. Lighthearted, and fun, a perfect relaxing read.
Back at Two Love Lane. Where the ladies help their clients find love. This is the third book in the series and it's Ella's turn to find love again.
Ella is happy living in Charleston, acting in the local theater and working with her friends at Two Love Lane. She has had her great love and doesn't see herself getting involved anytime soon.
There were a few different stories inside this story. One with Ella's family, one with the return of the dreamy Hank, and one with the ladies and Miss Roberta and her unlucky love life.
Miss Thing is my favorite character and as much as I have enjoyed this series, this one landed a little flat for me. The Pammy character was just too much. I couldn't believe Ella would just move in with a total stranger who acted this odd. Much of it I just couldn't believe.
Thanks for the read!

Kiernan Kramer has added to her Love Lane Series by providing the reader with a gutsy leading lady and a charming cast of characters that keep the reader enthralled! Each page is filled with fun, love and a cheer for Ella to go after what she really wants. An adorable read---and I will keep looking for more in this delightful series that leaves the reader wanting more! Thank you for the opportunity to have read this title prior to publication.
I couldn't get immersed in this story. I found the pace slow and cumbersome and the narrative just was not that interesting.
I would like to thank NetGallery, the publisher and Kieran Kramer for a opportunity to review "Second Chance At Two Love Lane." All opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.
I liked this book but didn't love it. Basically it is about two people, Ella and Hank trying to overcome problems in their relationship. Was their love to be a everlasting love? Read this book to find out if true love can really happen!
This is my first book by Kieran Kramer and while it is part of a series, I was not lost reading it
Ella and Hank meet and bury want to be big time actors. Hank gets the opportunity and Ella remains in Charleston.
10 years later , Ella part owns a matchmaking business and still acts in the community theater.
Hank hits the big time and returns to Charleston to film a movie
Can second chances happen.
A sweet and good read!

I loved this story. It was fun returning to Two Love Lane for another visit with friends, family, and location. I would truly love to visit Charleston and see some of the places that I have visited via novels. I digress.. This is truly a story you will not want to put down, at least it has been for me. If you have never been to Two Love Lane before... you will still be captivated by this offering, and probably want to read the previous stories. I was gifted a copy of this story and I am so grateful for the opportunity to write this review.
I kind of had mixed feelings about this book, & I'm having a hard time putting my finger on exactly what was missing. I enjoyed the story for the most part, but I felt like there was some disconnect in the way it was put together. The characters were well developed but I didn't always feel the chemistry between them. I did enjoy the story but it kind of fell flat by then end.
I have not read any other books by Kieran Kramer. This is the third book in this series but it read okay as a stand-alone.
I had high hopes for this book based on the synopsis. Unfortunately, the book didn't live up to the description. From the beginning it seemed far fetched and I was just annoyed by the lack of communication between the main characters. And while it made me want to visit the author's version of Charleston, I just didn't connect to this book.
I received an ARC for an honest review.
Sometimes love is waiting in the second act...
In her professional career, Ella Mancini plays matchmaker at Two Love Lane but, in her personal life, she takes the stage at the Dock Street Theatre. Now she has a chance at a new role in a Hollywood movie that happens to be filming in Charleston—one that features a big-name actress, Samantha Drake. Long ago, Ella passed up a major audition while awaiting a marriage proposal. Not only didn’t she get the role; she never got the ring, either. Instead, her boyfriend Hank went on to become a huge film star…leaving her, and all her dreams, behind.
But now Hank’s back in Charleston, cast as the male lead in the same movie Ella’s in. In spite of the dramatic tension off-screen, he and Ella try to stay cool onset. But when their old feelings start to heat up—at the same time leading-lady Samantha tries to play cupid—all bets are off. How can Hank convince Ella, after all this time, that she’s the one he really wants to be with in real life—and that some happy, rom-com endings really can come true?
Ella Mancini is one of the three partners in the matchmaking agency Two Love Lane in Charleston, South Carolina, but once upon at time, she was a young actress in New York City, just starting out. But she was in love with Hank Rogers, and turned down what could have been her big break, in order to stay with him.
Then he got his big break, took it, and left.
He's now a big star, and Ella's acting is in local community theater. Ella is happy, successful in her new field, and respected in her community, but at some level she's never gotten over Hank.
Now Hank is coming to Charleston to shoot a movie, co-starring with Samantha Davis, an actor they both admired even ten years ago, when they were still together.
Hank has never really gotten over Ella, either, and there's a small speaking part that has suddenly opened up again.
This is very nicely done, without an excess of oversimplification of the issues and challenges between them, and with a nice ensemble of good and likable characters. These include not only Ella's partners and family, but cast and crew on the movie, a Two Love Lane client, and others.
Both Hank's and Ella's careers are treated with respect.
I enjoyed this. Recommended.
I received a free electronic galley of this book from the publisher via NetGalley.
From Amazon’s description of Second Chance at Two Love Lane by Kieran Kramer: “Sometimes love is waiting in the second act... Sounded promising, but unfortunately did not live up to my expectations. The story has moments but mostly feels like it’s written for teenagers. Throughout the book Ella is “determined to be an adult and try to let her past hurt go away and not carry it with her all her life” but the sad fact of the matter is that she is an adult – 31 or 32 years old – the heartbreak was 10 years ago, and she obviously has not gotten over it at all and doesn’t look like she is making any attempt to. Ella’s behavior is immature and inconsistent and I couldn’t get a good read on any specific personality traits. She unthinkingly shares way too much personal information with others but can’t seem to stop herself. Her references to girl power and the cheddar penny curse were just silly, and when the story heading into adult territory and described the bawdiest sex it felt totally inappropriate and a little creepy. The plot was clunky and did not move smoothly and the supporting characters were just a bit too quirky to be really likeable.
Hank was basically a sweet guy who regretted the past, questioned his current life (as an adult might) and wanted to make amends or just move on. Hank is the reason I gave the book 3 stars instead of rating it lower.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The book has some sweet moments and if you are a fan of the previous books in the series (which I have not read) you will probably like this one, too. It was just not for me.
