This book covers all the basics of how to draw, without being too intimidating to a new artist. I found the information on perspective to be the most helpful.
This book reminds me of a basic drawing college class that I took (and enjoyed tremendously) years ago. The attitude the author takes makes a huge difference in the way a non-artist can approach and finish projects.
The projects in this book are fairly basic though the subjects are covered in plenty of detail.
I especially enjoyed the portions of the book which deal with shading and texture as that is an area where I lack any form of finesse.
Also, the idea of drawing in grids was right up my alley. I am a cross stitcher (and have even been a cross stitch designer), so breaking images down into little squares was second nature to me. I had a lot of fun with this portion of the book.
Finally, the lessons in perspective were something I really needed and appreciated. I lack depth perception, so the world is pretty much a flat viewing surface for me. Trying to draw that is a little difficult for me to translate. The lessons helped me move what I see to the page more easily than I have before.
I was provided a digital advance reader copy of this book by the publisher via Netgalley.
This is a brilliant book for teaching children (and adults) drawing techniques in a fun comic style. The book is great for dipping into and the level of information is pitched just right. The instruction is easy to follow and the pictures that can be produced even by a complete beginner are so encouraging.. Overall a great book with an interesting and appealing delivery style. Thank you
Drawing Made Easy: How to Draw from Observation and Imagination by Robbie Lee is a book I requested and the review is voluntary. I found this book had just about everything a beginner would need. How to graph, perspective, types of pencils and the grading of them, how to draw parts of the face, where to put them on the face, and so much more. There is a lot of information crammed into that little book! It is shown in a way that is easy to understand and fun! Drawings everywhere to illustrate the writing. Great book for getting the info out!
Robbie Lee has packed Drawing Made Easy full of information! I love the way he presents the book as well. While his lessons may combine several aspects of drawing at once, they are easy to understand and will have you drawing things you never thought you could in no time. I especially liked his approach to breaking things down into basic shapes and then refining those shapes into what the ultimate outcome should be, and his studies in perspective. All around, this is a fine reference book for new artists, and perhaps more seasoned artists as well.
Many thanks to NetGalley and F + W Media for allowing me to read an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Drawing Made Easy is a really cool guide by seasoned illustrator/instructor Robbie Lee. It features more than 20 simple step-by-step demonstrations and 30 lessons to teach the drawing process, including perspective, drawing people, and drawing scenes. With a fun approach using a graphical robot as guide, this info-rich book helps readers hone skills critical to any drawing success. 5/5
Thanks to F + W Media and NetGalley for the ARC. Opinions are mine.

First of all thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is all about how to get better at drawing and it starts with simple things like materials and lines and goes through shapes, shadings, drawing from pictures and life, proportions, perspective and ends with scenery.
I love the style of the book, it’s very organized, colorful, with an amazing design and a robot-narrator that explains everything creatively and easily, but still using technical terms (which are important).
I really like drawing and I already read some books to get better at it such the very similar book “21 draw illustrator’s guidebook” (though Drawing Made Easy is for more traditional artist (with pencil and eraser)), but this one is the best one I’ve read yet! Especially for the drawing humans and drawing from pictures and life parts.
At the beginning I admit I skimmed some pages since basic stuff doesn’t ever really change, but I found some interesting and useful tips in there as well!
One thing I’ve never really been good at is life drawing (probably because I’ve never really tried, but whatever) so I tried drawing a chair using Robbie Lee’s tips and this is the result! (I don’t think it’s perfect, but I think it’s good considering it’s my first time really drawing from life!) -> http://www.arvenig.it/blog/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/IMG_9329.png
Final Thoughts:
I think this is a perfect book for beginners, but also artists who never really studied theory.

A very practical book to learn topics such as the drawing process, perspective, drawing people, and drawing scenes in a very creative way. The author approaches different drawing methods like drawing from observation, drawing from imagination and others. I liked the comic style used as graphical method for the tutorials
