The story line was intriguing but language was stilted and some sections were hard to believe. Author jumps around too much and although parallel stories are fine, writing seems immature.
This is the story of two women connected by history and through family. Betty a young lady who helped her family settle and protect a growing settlement. Leah is a young women in her third tour of duty in the Marines. She is fighting in Iraq. Both women are fighting for love of country, freedom and family. Though it has only been in the last years that women have been able to enlist and be recognized as military. It is not a new thing. Women have been fighting for family, freedom and country through generations of time. This book has both types of women. Based on fact but embroidered with the Author's creativity, it is a wonderful and exciting read. Strongly recommended.
