A 'prank war' is never going to be something I particularly enjoy reading, but sadly I couldn't even get past that to try and enjoy the romance or the rest of the story.
The permise of this book did sound really interesting to me which is why I originally requested it but it did become a book that lay unread for so long then when I did give it a shot it was not what I thought it was going to be so I did Dnf this one, so there for I will be giving it a middle of the road rating
This book is the perfect summer contemporary romance, a little more than just the will they won't they book but it is why I really like YA Romance, a cheesy love-struck teen book that is lighthearted for most of it. This is a good story however it's a little the same as some of the other romances recently. I will certainly keep an eye out for any other books by this author though
A good young adult book, I liked the book it wasn't anything special. It entertained me to some extent, I liked the story and we all love the bad boy trope that's for sure.
Thank you so much to the publishers and Netgalley for giving me access to this book. Unfortunately my tastes have changed and I am no longer interested in this book but once again thank you so much for the opportunity!
I got to this book a few years after it was published, originally I believe on Wattpad and then picked up by Ink Road. After a few darker reads, A Bad Boy Stole My Bra was just the tonic I needed – a pure, cute teenage read which was light-hearted but at the same time touched on some darker things which kept me hooked.
Riley and her mum are intrigued to discover they have new neighbours, but little did Riley know that just a little while later she would be introduced to the cute boy next door, Alec, during the night when as part of a dare, he is in her bedroom stealing her Mickey Mouse bra. This is where the fun and the pranks begin as Riley goes on a hunt to not only get her bra back but also to get her revenge on her annoying new neighbour. However, along the way she discovers that maybe there is more to Alec than meets the eye.
This was definitely a feel-good read from beginning to end. I loved the authenticity to the teenage characters. This book was written by a teenager and that helped bring the characters to life as they felt true and realistic. The representation of some of the high-school students here did have its stereotypes but at the same time all the characters seemed believable. Lauren Price balances the laid-back nature of some with the hormones and confusing feelings and dramas and stresses and anxieties and demons that get a grip of others’ self-esteem. I thought Riley and Alec were both well-rounded characters. Although we don’t get to know Alec quite as well, he is mysterious enough to be fascinated by but also real enough to care for and root for. I was all in to his and Riley’s slow-burning romance and fully invested in a hopefully happy ending to the story for them both.
Riley was an entertaining narrator to the book and as the reader it is easy to get lured into her messy thoughts and awkward moments. It’s clear early on that she has her secrets and she is not very forgiving to herself. She sees herself as a bit of a loner with only her best friend Violet on her side but further on you can tell that people do like her – maybe she just doesn’t like herself. I enjoyed getting to know her and also finding out what was making her pull back and hide things from the people she cared about.
Violet’s character was a joy and I would have liked to have seen more of her. There were many supporting characters here and I particularly liked some of Alec’s friends. This book could have been made longer and more well-rounded if we had got to know them more, but as side characters they did their job and kept every chapter fresh with plenty of laugh out loud moments throughout.
Overall, A Bad Boy Stole My Bra was an amusing and uplifting book with all the jokes and cheesy one-liners nicely contrasted with the angst and drama I love in a young adult novel. I would definitely recommend it for those looking for a sweet summer read.
A wonderful read with charming characters and an engaging plot!! I look forward to reading more by this author.
This was a great quick read, perfect for teenagers, it reminded me of Louise Rennison’s writing. I enjoyed the ending and think the young teen audience will as well.
This book will make you laugh and smile from beginning to end. One of the best coming of age books I've read in a long time. This author has a long and true future in writing books.
A charming, light-hearted story which although as cheesy as you would expect, was enjoyable all the same. With cliché high school drama, partying and teenage jealousy, this is perhaps suited for more of a younger audience. Nonetheless, if you're looking for a quick, fun read, this might be for you!
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book sounded like it would be funny from the synopsis and I loved the title.
The bra stealing incident happened very early on and it was the only humourous moment unless all the cheesy one liner pickups are counted.
This book was very YA and had all the drama of school with mean girls, friend ship fall outs, he said she said chat and the over use of the word grasshole(?)
Alec is the new boy who moves next door to Riley. He is hot and had lived in the area previously (unbeknownst to Riley) and has slotted back in with the popular boys. Riley and her friend Violet keep to themselves. Alec changes that and takes an interest in Riley.
After a lot of does he, does she, will they, won’t they moments the tension is eased with a kiss however queue the drama moment that leads to blackmail, tears and a fallout before everything is resolved with a HEA.
The book had a few inconsistencies in it with promises of picking up Riley’s little brother and family nights neither of happened.
I think this book would be suited for those in their early-mid teens. There are a few sexual references but nothing more than kissing throughout.
I wanted to like this book however I think it is just too young for me or I’m too old for it!!

I remember first coming across this on Wattpad, when the title was The Bad Boy Stole My Bra (i'm not sure why the title was changed to such a minor degree) and I never read it there, but was excited to see a fellow wattpader get published. This is a very lighthearted story, with a slightly amateur style that I found offputting at times. All in all, it was fine, but a bit shallow.
A Bad Boy Stole My Bra was just as cliche and cheesey as you'd expect and more, but damn was it fun to read.
Basically this reads like a basic high school drama story with all the typical aspects: bad boy/good girl romance, heavy back stories, jealous classmates and lots of partying and teenage adventures. Also, it features a f/f relationship, one member of it being the love interest's mom, which is always amazing.
If you're looking for a quick, fun read, this is the one for you!
So this book is about a girl and her new hot popular neighbour who happens to steal her bra before school begins. We follow these characters and learn how similar they are to each other, both with their own amounts of baggage.
We watch them bicker with each other and there is a big will-they-wont-they get together that also follows along with the story. It's hard not to ship them especially when all their friends do too.
Overall, this was such a cute and funny read. I remember staying up until late reading this on wattpad and gushing over Alec. I loved the hilarious use of pick up lines. Those moments are my fave.
This book had me dying with laughter.
I would definitely recommend this. :)
Thank you for giving me a chance to read this.
This is such a fun and sweet contemporary YA. book. With a genre that is inundated with similar stories, this one stands out because of it’s unique voice and great writing. Really enjoyed it.
First I want to thank Netgalley for providing me with and arc of this book in return for an unbiased review.
I absolutely loved this book!
When I first started it I thought I wasn’t going to get into it but as I read and got to know our main characters I found I couldn’t put this book down.
There was so much amazing witty banter and chemistry between them I actually laughed out loud a few times.
Overall this book surpassed my expectations and totally blew me away!
I give it a fully deserved 5 stars.
This book was so much! I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with it. I was expecting something entertaining, maybe fun, not demanding. A fast reading, with romance as the main focus and not so memorable. Just something light and easy to read. But I got more, oh my, so much more!
It delivered all I was expecting, but… but this book is the sweetest thing ever! I loved the MCs, Riley and Alec are sweet together, and so much fun. And, the best thing of all, is that they are real. They seem like people, real people from the real world. With their shadows and their lights. And, overall, a ginormous heart!
But this book is not just about them. It’s about their family, too, and their friends. And let stay here for a moment, please. I haven’t ranted here, but it’s a thing that really makes me mad: the families in YA books. Not in all of them, but in most of them we saw surreal family, with parents that are non-existent, or that exist but that are not at all present in the story. And I am not saying that all the YA have to have a happy and good family. It’s important to represent the families that aren’t so good, too, or so happy, or that are outright difunctional because they exist. But a disfunctional family is a thing, a surreal family in which we don’t have parents for the story sake well… that’s another thing completely and I am not happy with it. Not happy at all. But I am sidetracked here, and I am not here to rant, so… sorry about that, and back with the book!
The families. I loved them! I loved Riley’s family, and I loved Alec’s, too. They are both caring and real and loving. I appreciated immensely that all of them feel real to the reader, they feel like real people, and they are in the story, even if they are not the MCs. That’s the way to go! And I loved them because they were so caring and so full of acceptance, that you can imagine a better world with them there!
And I can say the same for the friends. This is not just a YA romance. Yes, we have the romance, and yes, it’s the main focus of the story, but, at the same time, it’s just a part of it. It could be the main one, but it’s not the only one. We see a lot of love around these pages, and it’s all kind of different love. It’s love for your mother, or for your little sister, or for the little sister of the boy you like, and for your friends, old and news, and a respect for all the people. Riley, and Alec, really try to understand the whys and hows, they try to understand each other, yes, but also the others around them, and that’s a thing that I appreciated.
I started this book in the morning, and by the evening I was done with that because I couldn’t put it down for long. I had to keep on reading till the end. And I have no regrets. I loved this book, and it gave me so much. So much hope, happiness and fun.
So, if you are in for the sweetest reading ever, with a lot of fun, true friends and adorable families, well… wait no more! The right book is here!
A bad boy stole my bra is a young, fun contemporary about a girl named Riley who is woken up in the middle of the night to find her new next-door neighbour in her room, and stealing her bra! As you can imagine this presents somewhat of an issue for Riley, but as the battle to gain back her bra continues, she finds herself developing feelings for this neighbour, Alec Wilde.
Firstly, I would like to say that this book made me laugh. The pranks reminded me a lot of my high school years, and it was hilarious to rehash that. I loved the fun and competitive vibes going on between Riley, and Alec. They were truly adorable.
Another component that I really enjoyed was the tackle of anxiety, and depression linked to a close family death. It really gave more to the story than just a fun fluffy romance.
There were a few things that did contribute to my rating of 3.5*, and that was in the telling and not showing; For example with certain characters (that were not the main focus) details were thrown my way, and I felt it would have been much better to show these characteristics through their action instead of being told she was this, he is like that etc. I felt that a lot of detail was given about supporting characters towards the end of the story instead of peppered throughout, and I really would have like to see more of this during the entirety of the story.
Overall I enjoyed the story, I liked the message that went out to our teens about being true to yourself etc, and I would recommend this to those still in their high school years. It was fun, and fluffy, with a deeper message to those who may be going through high school conflicts.
This was the perfect light and fluffy contemporary I had hoped it would be! We all secretly love a 'will they won't they' narrative and this book certainly gave me that. Overall just good fun.

I just wanna say that I have read this book previously, when it was originally on Wattpad. I first read this book around 3 or 4 years ago, luckily I didn’t remember any of what happened except for 3 scenes that happened in the book. I was also able to forget what the major reveal before reading it in its final form, which is good. This book is really fun and an enjoyable read and from memory, better/improved from when it was on Wattpad with the way it is written. It doesn’t feel like it was from Wattpad. I loved all the characters escpecially Alec (for obvious reasons). I’m proud of anyone that is able to have their Wattpad story published!
