This was one of those books that you curl up with on a rainy day and finish in one sitting. The characters were well developed and easy to like. The romance builds slowly and sweetly. The author could not have picked a better setting than a beautiful island. If you want a light and sweet romance to read on a lazy day, this is it.
This was a sweet matchmaking romance taking place in Corsica, France. I’ve never thought to visit Napoleon’s home town, but I’ve always wanted to visit France and I loved the book’s descriptions of the places to visit in the area. Maeve, which is a cool Irish name and Edward are attracted to each other from the start, but neither agreed to the Perfect Match setup looking for a long term relationship. There were plenty of sweet, funny, romantic, and misunderstandings in the clean vacation romance.
Edward is upfront after the first date that he is not there to find a perfect match. Maeve is a little hurt, but her life is too busy for lasting romance. As they spend the promotional week together, their pull towards each other is more than attraction. I received a free copy of this book from the publisher through Netgallery. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. This is a light romance told through the eyes of both Edward and Maeve. Even though their time together is initially orchestrated by the matchmaking company, they never run out of things to talk about and enjoy their time together. This is a sweet romance that I enjoyed very much.
Get ready to enjoy Maeve Doherty and Edward Newell 's bumpy journey to love while staying on an island for a week. Enjoyed these characters and story line. Part of the Perfect match series.
Ebook from netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.
Love this author’s books and Maeve is no exception. This book is well written with a good plot and well developed characters. Loved the island setting. If you enjoy a sweet romance I recommend this book.
Very good read. Loved the story and the characters. Would definitely recommend this book. Enjoyed the writing of Josie Riviera.....hope to read more.
Maeve may be the Perfect Match Book 6 but it is the second book in the series for me to read. Josie Riviera gives us a heroine in desperate need of a vacation. She is also in need of a perfect match, so I was cheering her on all the way. Of course, her match turns out to be someone just as driven as she is. I liked Maeve more so then Edward.
Not a long story but one that was easy to invest into the outcome. It is well-written; making their week look inviting and enticing even with the work that they still managed to incorporate into their time together. I enjoyed the Irish background even if I disliked the company where Maeve worked. With all that goes wrong for her, the end is quite satisfying.
The publisher through Net Galley provided an ARC. I have voluntarily decided to read and review, giving my personal opinions and thoughts.
Maeve and Edward met with the Perfect Match. The story is a perfect love story one that seemed like it might not work out before the end. Josie Riviera’s love stories usually end Happily and I am glad this one did.
