I loved the illustrations of this adorable children's book about an angry little Puffin. They were beautifully drawn with bright colors guaranteed to keep the attention of little one's. The beginning has some rhyming which makes it a breeze to read out loud. The rest of the story got a little muddled towards the end with the Puffin having a conversation with the author.
This book was a pleasure to read to my nieces and nephews. I'm always looking for children's books that have a lesson and are not just a spin off of a television show. I've already had to reread this one to my niece 5 times!
Dear Angry Little Puffin,
How dare Mr. Young try to feed you a muffin simply because it rhymes with puffin! What is wrong with that man? You raised very good points with the other animals. Well, not the pig, but definitely the cheetah.
I noticed that you broke the fourth wall. Have you thought about, maybe, working with Deadpool? Yes, I know he is far more violent than you are, but I think you two would get along quite well.
Yes, I know that you are for children, and he is for an older crowd, but if he were to have a pet, it would be you.
Seriously, though, ALP, it was awesome how you taught your readers about children’s literature and wall breaking. You also worked in some neat thing about being creative. It’s just a shame you had to be offered a muffin instead of a fish.
Still, it was a very good sequel. Well worth a muffin.
Long Live Puffins!
This is a cute story about puffins and muffins, but with a twist. My toddler loved the pictures and the more physical humor in the book. My child in early elementary appreciated the humor about the author. It reminded up of the Piggie and Elephant series, which we love. I would recommend this book.

This honestly wasn't what I was expecting. While I do love the meta-aspect of this--characters from a few other books happen to pop by, and the puffin addressing the author was fun--Puffin himself wasn't a very likeable character after the first two pages.* He does make an excellent point about rhyming conventions in kids books--just because a food rhymes with an animal name doesn't mean that animal would actually like it!
The beak/mouth anatomy also serious bugged me.
This just wasn't for me, but if you liked the first Angry Puffin book, this will likely be another hit!
*I haven't read the first Angry Puffin book, so I had no previous expectations of the character.

I giggled as soon as I read the title. This is a colourful book that kids and adults alike will love. While it does get a little meta, it's a win for the parents and the rhymes are enough to keep the children entertained.
This book blends rhyme with animal habits and a good amount of imagination. Magic crayons demonstrate the power of persistence! Great pictures! Very cute little ending!!!
This was such a cute book! A children's book that breaks the fourth wall is such a great idea and it's so well done in this book! This was a very enjoyable read, and I definitely look forward to purchasing it for my niece and nephew when it's released.
