This was one of my favorite paranormal romances to date! Book 7 did not disappoint. This is a good series to re-read over and over again when you want a good cry, romance, and heartfelt emotion. Loved this series!

I just absolutely love this series! I wish you would continue on with it forever! I love that Tessa and Dastien got a beautiful honeymoon. I wish we got more of Meredith and Donovan though. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Tessa and Dastien have been fun characters to watch and follow through this series. The amazing and unique adventures and challenges that they have had throughout the books has helped to make each one enjoyable and new. Awesome to see the maturity in this book and leadership--"Alphaness" that Tessa has developed and the strong bond that these two have can elevate the craziness of the dangers and heighten the creativeness of the solutions for all new werewolf experiences.

I received a free ARC of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I started this series hoping I would like it. Especially considering I kept buying each book without knowing if I actually would like the first one. I am soooo glad I did. When I got approved for this book from Netgalley I knew it was finally time to dive in. This series is go so good. This book is an awesome conclusion of a series of trouble and the start of what I honestly hope is several more books. I don't think I will get my way on that but a girl can hope. The characters had more growth. Things aren't swept under the rug in this series, actual problems are tackled. I love the main characters and side characters. You also get to meet more side characters and let me tell you Eli I hope there is a whole slew of books with him in them. He seem like a pip. Can't wait to continue this series with more amazing books.

This book was outstanding! It is the best, by far, out of the whole series.
Tessa and her mate Dastien are honeymooning in the Caribbean when she is attacked magically by something very strong and powerful and it tells her you are mine they decide it is time to pack their bags and head home.

I can’t get enough of the werewolves and the witches in this series although this is only the second book I have read. I have read Shattered Pack and loved it just as much. I really want to check out the rest of the series so that I can get to know Tessa, Dastien and all the other characters a little bit more.

Not your typical werewolf story but every bit as awesome. Aileen Erin never disappoints and is now a must read for me

Being Alpha (Alpha Girl #7)
by Aileen Erin
This book is not entirely a stand alone book, yes new readers can get into the story but there are a fair number of references to prior books, and prior stories. It's like coming in to the middle of a series, enough explanation to understand whats going on but a lot of stuff that happened before. Being Alpha is about coming into what you are made to be. She ties many sides together, Tessa has a lot going for her. She was raised human, learned to be a witch, and then was bitten now she is a werewolf. She has found her mate, and had her wedding in prior books, now she has to deal with a demon. The problem, he’s tied to her… And he wants to come over and destroy everything. Not just her life but the world. She can only use her connections are they enough to form a new bond that will block the other dimension. A nail biting story.

Happily newly wed Tessa and Dastien want nothing more than to enjoy their honeymoon and, for once, not think about the pack or demons or crazy witches. But, when Tessa almost dies, there is no way they can stay away from home any longer. Coming back makes it clear that Tessa has a problem, a big one. A demon is attached to her and he wants her power, all of her power. That means she will be dead, if Dastien and the other pack members can't help her get rid of this demon.
This is one of my favorite shifter series and I can't wait for the next book to come out. Highly recommended series!
I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. Thanks to NetGalley and Ink Monster!

It was great to see Tessa and Dastien again, but the storyline in BEING ALPHA wasn't as exciting as early books in the Alpha Girl series.

I didn't love BEING ALPHA, but I didn't hate it. I enjoyed getting to see Tessa and Dastien in action again. I enjoyed getting to see most of my favorite secondary characters, and I also enjoyed seeing some of them find peace with everything that has happened to them.

All I could think about after finishing BEING ALPHA was 'what was the point of making this book?'. They already beat the demons. Tess and and Dastien were already married and presumably living HEA. Most of the the other characters were happy, on the way to being happy or we didn't really think about them and their HEA. BEING ALPHA just didn't see that necessary when all was said and done.

I am pretty sure that BEING ALPHA is the last in the series. I enjoyed following the stories of everyone involved and I am happy with the conclusions of everything.

Was some super scary demon after me? Yes.

Was the supernatural world coming apart? Also, yes.

Had Eli told me I was going to have to sacrifice something in order to get his help to stop the apocalypse? Again, yes.

But at least I had friends to help figure out how to fix this whole shitshow that my life had turned into.

Christ. Who was I kidding? This was a freaking disaster.

Tessa and Dastien are finally able to enjoy some alone time after all the crazy events of the last few months, but Tessa has an uneasy feeling. When she attempts to have a vision and all she sees is blackness, she knows something is wrong. After finally contacting friends back home, the couple learns that they are under attack from demons- and the worst of the bunch is coming for Tessa.

Werewolves are my top favorite type of book to read so when I first started this series 6 books ago I had high expectations- expectations that the Alpha Girl series completely lived up to. Not only do I get werewolf action with bonds, mates, and pack politics but I also get other kinds of supernaturals such as powerful witches, sneaky Fey and some unknowns thrown into the mix (I am looking at you Samantha!). Each book has been filled with the action, mystery, supernatural and soul-melting romance that I have come to crave- and Being Alpha was no different. I loved each pages of the story and was so anxious for the characters that I have grown to love- I was not willing to sacrifice any of them for the greater good.

My favorite part of Tessa is her ability to roll with the punches. Seriously, this girl takes a hit and gets right back up, ready to take on the world if need be. No surprise (of the nasty and terrifying kind) make her quit or breakdown. To put it in perspective, she may have been a teeny tiny bit dead... twice, within the first few chapters of the book, yet she still had the ability to worry over others, to plan how to take down an evil demon, smash the old pack hierarchy, and then show her mate some affection. If any one is suppose to be Alpha, it is Tessa. Sniff sniff, Tessa and I have come so far together, from the angsty lonely odd girl to this powerful, capable woman. Yep, it is official, I love Tessa. It also doesn't hurt that the relationship between her and Dastien is so freaking sweet, I just want to squeeze them both and never let go (in a non-creepy way).

I wasn’t sure my goals were that lofty. “I just want to live.”
“And beyond that?”
I shrugged. “Honestly, I’ve been living a little day to day since I got bitten. I’m just trying to keep up with everything.” It was weird how I’d gotten accustomed to living crisis to crisis.

This installment was 100% non-stop action, right from the first couple of pages up until the end. I love that Aileen can grab hold of my attention and make me lose focus on anything that is not her words, until I end up blowing through the pages until it is over. But it is also kind of bittersweet because I am never quite ready to say goodbye to this scrappy gang when I reach the end. The Alpha Girl world Aileen created is so full of magic, wonder and the best of characters that I can't wait to see what lies in store next because I know I will enjoy it.

Hello happy readers! Another weekend is here and I can’t believe July is almost over. This is seriously insane. Still that being said I have a review of a new book in a series I adore today, Being Alpha (Alpha Girl #7) by Aileen Erin. I received an ARC of this in exchange for an honest review but as with the other books in this series I already had that baby on pre-order, that arrived this Tuesday, I just get it a bit early this way ;) This is the 7th book in the series which might be intimidating but they are so good and super-fast reads. I have reviewed all the books in the series if you’re interested or need a refresher: Becoming Alpha, Avoiding Alpha, Alpha Divided, Bruja, Alpha Unleashed, and Shattered Pack.

Rating: 5 Stars

In the last book we stepped away from Tessa for a bit and got to follow what was happening with Meredith and Donovan in Ireland. After defeating the evil witch Luciana, Tessa and Dastien were able to go on vacation / honeymoon after seeing their friends’ full moon ceremony and it is glorious and much deserved. But Tessa hasn’t been able to have a vision and there is a nagging feeling that something is amiss….oh and a magical attack that nearly kills her might have been a sign something is up. Now they have to end their vacation and go back into the thick of things, because even with Luciana dead her mess isn’t over.

It is so nice to dive back in with Tessa and the gang well minus Mer in person as she’s back in Ireland but she was just a call away. More it was nice to see Tessa and Dastien get some much needed time together. They have been from one disaster to the next and this was no exception but at least they got a break in there for a little bit. They are so cute and I love how they are adapting to the bond. They have a real healthy relationship and I adore how they work together and balancing one another out. It was fun to see how the different pairs worked together as well. I like the unity they all show. Many are Were and loyal by nature but even the others there is this great loyalty between them tried and true forged in battle. Even when they don’t see eye to eye on things they still hear one another out. This is friendship goals!

Tessa has grown so much since we got to know her in the first book. She continues to grow as she comes to terms with what she has become. She is powerful in both respects plus she was raised a human so she can see things from different angles. She is ready to jump in and help anyone and takes on more than her fair share of responsibility but still she doubts herself as ever being a true alpha. I love the character development for her and others as they grow from being teens to something more with what they have been forced to endure and adapt too.

In books past, and this one as well we always have lots of evils to fight with but in this we had another different battle to win as well. A super powerful demon is trying to take Tessa and she has to battle not just physically but with her mind and soul which was different and fun. I loved seeing the different tethers between the characters was cool. We also got to see how a new generation may be young have a different set of priorities and willingness to work together and break down walls and bound together. Unity is a real theme and I really enjoyed that and of course the combination of Weres’, witches, and fey. The different levels of power between the factions and inside them was present. This book sent shivers down my arms in many moments and had me laughing so hard it hurt at others. Tessa is for sure one of a kind and I love her inner thoughts because I was right there with her.

“I didn’t look to see who followed me as I raced out the door. The ones that trusted me would come. The rest could f&@k themselves, because I wasn’t waiting.”

The story in here is intriguing mixing all the different supernaturals and we even got introduced to some new ones I can’t wait to learn more about. Samantha and Eli both seem like huge stories for the telling and oh yeah the whole quick pop over to the Lunar Court….yeah totally have to explore that more in time because that looks amazing! I love that this is seven books deep and we still have so much we can explore and do. Each chapter as you read pulls you in and flies by, the pacing is really on point, add that with amazing characters and fun story and it is gone in a blink leaving you needing more. I’m excited for the next book in the series, and like in books past we are jumping to different characters. I like that the series does that as well as it gives the reader a deeper insight into characters we already know and love and it also provides a break and a way to explore new worlds!

Bottom line = I LOVE this installment and this series is an autobuy for me. I already have book 8 on preorder! Come on 2019!

Tessa was on her honeymoon with Dastien her true mate and had the mate’s bond which they could tell what the other was thinking and feeling. Tessa was a werewolf as well as a witch and had many alpha traits and power. Tess and Dastien had agreed to not use their cellphones for anything so there was no distractions. Tessa usually had visions and lately nothing. She also sensed something big was coming. Then tessa tried to force a vision and she saw was black but she did feelings of despair so strong tessa wanted to curl up in a ball and then there was pain and fear, so much fear. Then Tessa’s heart skipped a beat ad that had startled Dastien as it had never happened before. Then tessa got her phone out to check her messages and she found five from Chris each more serious then the one before and about demons attacking right in the area where Tessa had killed a witch named Luciana. Mr Dawson/Mr D was head of the pack and he had taken Dastien in when his parents had died Luciana had opened a hell’s portal. These attacks had started after Meredith’s wedding which had been two weeks ago. Tessa decided to go for a swim and almost drowned and found out she had been the only one to experience the pain of a ritual killing of one of the Seven. Then Tessa learned three of the Seven had actually died and that only left four and one who was standing in but not initiated into the Seven. It was Muraco who had been ritually murdered for an unexplained reason. Tessa had felt some very strong magic while in the water where she had almost drowned. Then Claudia called Tessa and had not been aware of the attacks back in Texas as she wasn’t there. Claudia admitted that after Kuciana was killed the wares had went to the compound and burned it down but the land had still felt evil to Claudia. Then Tessa thought she was having a vision when actually it was a demon messing with her who finally yelled “ You’re Mine!” Evil magic hit her skin. Then Tessa could smell Dastien but could not feel him but she knew he was near. Which met Tessa was in her mind and under spiritual and mental attack but not physical attack. Then Tessa realized the demon was more dominant then she was. The demon told Tessa she was the key. That the portals were locked but her magic was the key. Tessa thought of how she had found happiness in a home in a school for werewolves for a couple of months. She had found friends, power, and love. Then Tessa heard Dastien tell her what to do that Claudia had come up with and the hold of the demon was broken but Tessa knew the hold wasn’t gone forever she could feel the evil with her.
I enjoyed this book alot. I loved Tessa and Dastien together and how they interacted.I I loved the plot. But this did drag for me at times. I advise you to read the first six beeks in this series in order before you read this one so everything comes together smoothly while reading this. I read this in one sitting as I didn’t want to put this down so I could see what was going to happen next. I loved how tessa stepped up and let her Alpha traits and power out and did what she had to do. I do wish the fight scene at the end of this book had been done a little different but it still didn’t take from this book. I liked the addition of Eli and Samantha and I felt they both added to this book. I also really liked how Eli had a power no one could explain. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend.

Another installment in this universe and another too quickly read book! These books go by so very quickly, with the pacing making me think I just started reading. I could gobble up a dozen of these novels!

We join Tessa and Dastien, firmly in their honeymoon mode. Of course, the evil forces that ruin all things will not let them enjoy too much happiness and end up throwing them a curve ball. Thought the baddies were gone with Luciana? Think again! They are forced to get their allies back together and address the looming issue of the failing seven.

It was awesome to watch Tessa totally embrace her alpha-ness and leadership role (whether on purpose or just by nature). She and her band of misfits continues to grow and evolve in amazing ways. I absolutely cannot wait for the follow-ups for a bunch of these characters. The larger story, however, is a bit of a downer. The world is ending (again) and this time it’s from a super big bad demon dude. They’ve got to rally all their forces and work together (sometimes a bit difficult with all the old alphas).

There’s a little bit of something for everyone here. There’s romance (new and old), action (complete with life threatening consequences), and some fantasy (in the form of mythological species and, of course, the fae). Tessa somehow manages to get everyone on her team to execute a near-impossible feat. Where they go from here? I’m not sure, but I’m positive that there will be even more challenges in the future.

I was given a copy of this book for my honest review. It surprised me that this being a Y/A series, I would like the books as much as I have. The stories have stayed fresh and the characters all have a purpose. No filler the books hold you till the end. I did think this one started out slow but picked right up. Also, you'll enjoy them more if you have read the whole series but they are ok as a stand-alone.

Another good installment of this series. Interesting new character additions. Loved seeing Tessa and Dastien get a little down time. Can't wait for the next book and I would love to have another Claudia and Lucas story, too!

For me,the, first half was very slow, and I must have set it aside a dozen times. The second half was much better for me, and I whizzed through it in one sitting. I have read the entire series and enjoyed it overall, but my chief complaint is the pacing. The entire seven books are maybe a couple of months. There are constant emergencies and problems and battles with evil. I could do with some character development and relationship building instead if the constant sense of,urgency.

I don't know why I haven't read any of the other books in this series, but based on what I have read here, I think I have missed out.  I was able to follow the threads and the interpersonal relationships, but I think that my overall enjoyment of the story would have been greatly enhanced if I had been familiar with the back story.

This was a much quicker read than the page count would suggest.  The world building is clearly already done.  The relationships already established.  But this still feels fresh and essential and full of tension.

Definitely a series that I will be reading more of in the future.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Full review of Being Alpha coming soon. The following is featured on the front page of our blog as an authors' pick book deal, today and tomorrow, and will be shared on our social media (Twitter, Facebook, Litsy).

Alpha Girl: one of my favorite “fun read” series!
5 stars!

Books one and two are FREE on Kindle!

I call them “fun reads.” It’s my own category, but I’m sure you have one just like it. The books can come from any genre, but they have to suck me in from the beginning, hold my attention to the end, and be easy to read all the way through. They can be thrilling or adventurous or sexy or funny, but they’re all just plain fun.

Eileen Erin’s Alpha Girl series is all of these at once, and it’s one of my absolute favorites.

Tessa McCaide gets visions–so many visions that other kids think she’s a freak. She tries desperately not to touch things. Any thing. Because things hold the latent psychic energies of the people who came before. Furniture, hair ribbons, even doorknobs… vintage clothing stores might be her worst nightmare.

When her family moves from California to Texas, Tessa hopes she can keep her visions under control long enough to leave her reputation behind. To have a chance to be a normal kid. Unfortunately, her life is destined to get a whole lot stranger instead…

I won’t say anything else about the plot. (You can read the blurb on Amazon if you like knowing more ahead of time.) But I can tell you it’s still going strong six books later. If you like paranormal thrills, mystery, friendship, and a healthy dose of sexual tension, you’ll love this series as much as I do. Book seven comes out in just four days, and I can’t wait! (It’s at the very top of my towering TBR!)

The first two, Becoming Alpha and Avoiding Alpha, are free on Kindle.

I enjoy reading the book and series. I also enjoyed reading the new characters. I would recommend reading the book and the series. However, I worried how long this series going to be. There is no end in sight. I feel there hasn’t been any major character development only new characters which I enjoyed. It’s almost on the verge of being repetitive.

This one started out slow but the pacing improved a lot in the last half so if you have followed the rest of the series you will not want to miss this one.   Another part of this book is it sets up a continuation of the series but focused on secondary characters they we already know while introducing a few new one.
