I have always been interesting in making my own bath salts, bath bombs, and sugar scrubs, and this book did not let me down! Filled with beautiful photos and easy to follow instructions, this was an absolute treat to read! I'll be making these for easy and affordable gifts for many years to come.
Thank you to NetGalley, as well as the publisher for providing me with a digital copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review.
The bath bombs and other beauty products were easy to make and I love that they were made with natural ingredients. The recipes are easy to understand and very straight forward. I like how colorful and elegant the products are and feel that they can pass for store quality items. This is a great book.
I didn't realize when I requested that I've actually purchased their bath bombs before. I even have a couple in my stash currently. haha. It made me enjoy it more knowing that I enjoy the things they make.
Good tips and suggestions where to get supplies, and what sorts of things to look for. Definitely some good ideas and one of these days I'd like to get around to trying them out.
If you are sick of breaking the bank on store bought bath bombs, this is a great resource on how to make your own! And it doesn't just cover bombs, but also includes details on making bath fizzes, body scrubs, melts, skin creams, and other beauty products.
It covers everything you need to know, from equipment to ideas on how to finish products. This book is filled with color photographs and even lists resources for supplies. I highly recommend this to anyone wanted to get into homemade bath products.

Beautifully photographed with interesting, informative, and witty writing makes for a fantastic combination. It is very apparent that both Isabel and Caroline enjoy and love what they do. There are enough details for someone just learning without being bogged down or overwhelmed. Not to mention, the authors give you some leeway on creation. (Which, admittedly, is one of my favorite things about this book other than the recipes themselves!) They do not demand or insist that you do things a certain way or use specific things. You are given the ability to be creative! Plus, this book shares more than just bath bomb recipes. You can also make other body and skin care products: lip balms, masks, scrubs, toners and so much more.
I would definitely recommend Fizz Boom Bath to anyone wishing to learn more about bath bombs and creating them!
I loved this book and plan on purchasing it. Easy recipes, and fun results. Makes you want to get the ingredients and get started.
I loved this!
I've always wanted to make my own bath bombs even though I don't have a bath anymore*insert sad face*. I couldn't try doing the bath bomb recipes because of that, but the instructions were clear . However, I did try the ones about body scrubs and face masks and they were fantastic!! But not only that, the presentation and photography were fantastic and made me enjoy, even more, the book! :D.
I love making homemade bath products. This book is awesome. It gives a ton of recipes for making all kinds of bath products, not just bath bombs. The instructions are clear and easy to read. Even the beginner can be a pro in just a few short minutes.
The recipes are easy to follow and most of the products can be found at stores we all go in daily like Walmart and the grocery store.
The products you can make from these recipes are great for personal use, giving as gifts, and even selling at craft fairs.
I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com and chose to leave this review.
Fizz Boom Bath! is a great book - the recipes are easy to follow. The pictures in the book are great. Book would be easy for anyone to follow that wanted to learn to make bath bombs.
There are other recipes also in the book, that are easy to follow also.
Overall, a great book.
A definitive guide for making your own bath bombs, body scrubs and much more.
This book is a delightful gem full of clear recipes, how to guides, pictures and stockists.
I absolutely love this book and plan to buy a print copy to keep on my shelf.
I look forward to trying my hand at making some of these simplistic but fabulous products.
What a fantastic book! Beautiful images and lots and lots of really creative, fun bath bomb projects to make. My little son and I had a lot of fun making them. So much fun that we will definitely be buying a copy of this book!
A great book that my daughter and I have had some fun practicing the recipes with. Although all the recipes are laid out with specific utensils, I found that the enthusiasm regarding the starting of making their bath bombs was clearly carried though and enabled the reader to see that these can be made not necessarily with the specific tools but using what moulds and tools that are available locally.
A great book that would appeal to young teen girls.
Have you been to that store that sells all of those absolutely gorgeous (and really expensive) bath bombs and fallen in love with all of the possibilities? I'm the mom of a beauty blogger, so I've been more than once -- and then bought my own bath bombs at the Dollar Tree.
The boys and I tried making our own once and came out with bath bomb brittle, which smelled good and made their skin soft but didn't fizz and foam. It's possible that if you want to make something that actually works, following the easiest looking recipe from Pinterest may not be the best way to do it...and that you might need some specialized ingredients.
Which is where Fizz Boom Bath! comes in.
I haven't had a chance to try any of the book's recipes yet, but I'm reeling from all of the gorgeous photos and possibilities. There are geodes and gender reveals and secret messages and one bath bomb for sore muscles...and then there are the masks and shower steamers and scrubs. Working your way through this book would be a lot of fun.
And did I mention that the book -- and da Bomb Bath Fizzers, the company that inspired it -- was written by two teenage sisters? The bath bombs they sell look even more amazing than the ones in the book. I'm going to have to try to make more soon....or to just break down and order some!
For someone who has never made bath bombs before, this book was a great place to start. The direction were straightforward and simple to understand with great pictures to accompany them. There are multiple resources for the reader beyond just the instructions. It should also be noted that the recipes all for creativity and customization of the reader to truly make their own.
I highly recommend this book for everything wanting to get started on making their own!
The information was written well and beautifully displayed. I really liked the variety of bath products that this book contained and also like how each product could be expanded or changed to take in personal preferences. I will definitely be referencing this for myself and for gifts to friends who enjoy a nice bath product.
Confession: I am OBSESSED with bath and skin care products. OBSESSED. I don't wear that much makeup, but anything that is supposed to make my skin glow or enhance my (frequent) bathtime experience - sign me up. I've also actually tried the Bercaw sisters' products, thanks to OwlCrate including one of the bath bombs in a long ago box!
This book is fabulous. The writing is sometimes funny and always informative. All the details are there for the beginning maker, from choosing materials and supplies to specific recipes. There are options, the writers don't insist that you MUST do things a certain way, but leave plenty of opportunity to be creative in your own way. Also, the photos are amazing! Totally want to go get stuff to make my own bath bombs now.
While the first part of the book (after the materials and info section) focuses on bath bombs, with tons of recipes for all different scents and styles, the second part has recipes for many different kinds of body care products. Face masks (be still my heart), toners, steamers, lip balms, scrubs - nearly everything under the sun.
Highly recommend. Now excuse me while I run off to see what I own that can be used for a bath bomb mold...
This is the story of two youn entrepreneurs with a zest for fun and a desire to share their bubbly goodness with others. The book features lots of great bath bomb, shower melt, and soap recipes with yummy kid-friendly scents. Would be a blast to grab this book to make bath stuff with your kids to use and give as gifts!
A few years ago I bought several bath bomb molds on a whim and started making my own. At first it took some trial and error, but I found a few recipes online that worked well. Fizz Boom Bath! Is full of interesting, fun, new bath bomb recipes to take my bath bomb making to the next level. What I really love about the book is that there are so many other do it yourself beauty product recipes in the book including bath jellies, hand scrubs, lotions, foot masks, ect. Most of these recipes have stuff that I have lying around the house to try out these fun recipes. Fizz Boom Bath! is an excellent resource for making beauty products at home. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys D.I.Y. or beauty products.
Sometimes, you just need to escape from the world. Everyone has their methods for relaxing and unwinding. I was recently introduced to the concepts of bath bombs. My favorite brand is absolutely amazing in scent, color, and the fact that once they dissolve, there is a surprise inside! This book was written by the two young women who create my favorite fizzers, the founders of Da Bomb bath fizzers.
Isabel and Caroline Bercaw were only 10 and 11 when they started making and selling their bath bombs and now, only 6 years later, employ over 150 community members through their business. This book showcases not only their creative flair, but their excitement for sharing the art of making bath products. And this book is gorgeous. There are so many bright colors and full page photographs that really heighten each bath bomb’s appearance. The recipes are surprisingly simple to follow, and they provide information about retailers who carry each of the materials needed, which is extremely helpful when crafting.
There are so many recipes included in this book, ranging through a variety of scents, colors, and shapes. My only criticism would be that the recipes all started to sound the same after a while, with very little variation between then. That being said, by having so many slight variations, it can lead to a spark of inspiration by the reader to go beyond what is presented within the pages.
I seriously cannot wait to sit down and make some bath bombs of my own.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy from Rock Point for my unbiased opinion of the book. What a great crafty book! I loved the backstory of how these sisters became sisterpreneurs. I made strawberry supernova, doctor sweet lips scrub cold, and clobberer shower melt. I loved them all! I now know what everyone is getting for Christmas! I will also be giving this book for gifts in the upcoming months to several of my friends who are crafty like me!
