I am so impressed with this book; I can’t believe it was written by two teenagers! I think back to my teenage years and I remember getting an odd job or babysitting to make $20. These girls have a thriving bath bomb business, and I can see why. Their bombs seriously are “the bomb.” Having tried my hand at making some Pinterest bath bombs, I am so excited to try some of these recipes. I love the Rosemary Revival Steamer, which is like a bath bomb for your face with real leaves of rosemary blended in. What a great idea to make a facial steam more fun and relaxing! There are loads of recipes for bath bombs, but that’s not all! Non bath bomb recipes I want to try include the Green Goodness Face Mask, the Perfection Please Puffy Eye Treatment, the Hair Zombie Treatment, and the Cool Clobberer Shower Melt. The recipes in this book are very professional and you can tell a lot of thought and attention to detail went into creating the recipes. The instructions are thorough and every recipe looks doable. Highly recommended.
I received an advance reader copy in exchange for my honest review.
This is such a colourful and instructive book. Full of everything you need to know about making bath bombs and other bath and bathing items. The instructions are easy to follow and the pictures are fab. A great book for anyone who’s looking to start making their own goodies.
Have you ever wanted to make your own bath bombs? It is not as difficult as it may seem. This book offers you a detailed guide into ingredients as well as easy to follow (and tweak) recipes to get you started.
What I especially liked about the first part of the book were the many different bath bomb shapes. The authors did not stick to the traditional large round ball of material but experimented with different molds, my favourite is the geodode bath bomb.
The second part of the book offers recipes for other beauty products for face, hair and lips. There are recipes for facial and hair masks, scrubs, toners, lip balm and so much more.
The next section is about bath soaks, so non-fizzy bath ingredients to pamper yourself. Followed by a section with products for hands and feet, and anything else.
I totally love this book. I can not wait to create some of these bath bombs. Thank you for letting me review this book. People are going to love this book.
Fizz Boom Bath! is a new how-to and tutorial guide to all things bath-y, including fizzes, bath bombs, scrubs, melts and more. Written by young sister entrepreneurs Isabel and Caroline Bercaw, it's 144 pages published by Quarto-Rock Point and available in ebook and hardback formats.
I am a huge bath geek. In my opinion, there are -very- few problems that aren't seriously ameliorated by a long soak in a tub (for really BAD problems, add red wine (to a glass, not to the bathtub) and a water-resistant ebook reader. Rinse and repeat. If you buy bath bombs from the boutique stores, it leaves a significant dent in the wine budget, so learning to make your own is a win-win situation.
Additionally, a lot of ready made bath bombs have greasy cheap additives and bulk fillers... along with scary artificial colours and other goop.
This book gives you a fun alternative to ready-made. You get to choose the scents and colours (if any) as well as the size and ingredients. The instructions are simple enough, in theory, and would be a fun project with kids if supervised.
There are dozens of recipes, including all sorts of bombs, fizzers, foams, scrubs etc.. along with lots of suggestions for homemade beauty products including lip balm and creams, soaks, scents, masks and toners/spritzes.
The book is exuberant, well photographed and suitable for all ages (though aimed at teen/tween female audiences).
There's a short but handy resource guide (mostly for North American readers) and a useful index to recipes included in the book.
The world desperately NEEDS more tub time in my humble opinion.
PS Pro-tip: you can turn ebook reader pages with the tip of your nose, nullifying the need to dry your hands on a towel, or put down your wine glass.

This beautiful book is amazing!
I have always been curious about how to make bath bombs since they are so beautiful but super pricey in stores! They make fantastic gifts and smell amazing! This book lays out all the details of how to make the bath bombs with ingredient lists, directions, beautiful pictures and more I am so excited to make some and plan to make them as gifts for my neighbors around Christmas time! Definitely a great buy if you enjoy making gifts for others or would like to make them to enjoy yourself!
I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book. I am crafty and I love to make my own things! Fizz Boom Bath! is colorful with easy to follow instructions. I truly feel prepared to make my own bath bombs and other beauty products just from reading this. I also loved that recommendations on where to buy certain products are included; where to get things is always a big question. Full of vivid photos and easy instructions, Fizz Boom Bath! should be on any crafter's to-do list!
Learn how to make your own bath bombs, bath scrubs and more! I just had to read this book! Every time I walk past a certain well-known high street store that specialises in bath bombs I get giddy on the smell that emanates from their shop! I love bath bombs and I love the smells and fizzes that you get from them. I don’t often have a bath – no, I don’t smell, it’s quicker and easier to have a shower! – but when I do I can’t think of anything more relaxing than dropping a bath bomb in and watching it fizz away!! The only problem is they are expensive! So if I could make my own, wouldn’t that be better? This is where this book comes in…..ta-dah! – an easy to use guide on how to do just that. It tells you what you need, it tells you what to do with everything and it gives you detailed instructions and clear colour pictures to use.
There are different shapes, different colours and different smells. Of course, you don’t have to follow their examples, as long as you follow their basic recipes you could add your own colours and fragrances, but if you do follow the book there are so very clever recipes in there, such as colour changing bombs, healing bombs and even ones which will turn the water black!
It’s not all just bombs though, there are also examples of other things to make. Face masks, scrubs, eye treatments, toners, lip scrub, teeth whitener and hair treatments. There are also bath jellies, bath slime and shower scrubs! The possibilities using this book are endless! It’s also not just aimed at women’s fragrances and products, there are plenty of things for men too!
The book does have a list of places where you can gather supplies, but it does look like this list is mainly aimed at the US market. I’m sure though that there are places for us UK shoppers where you can get the things that you need to have a go at this. Written by the two founders of the Da Bomb Bath Fizzers, it’s obviously that this book has been written by experts!!
A fabulous, fun, fizzy book which I imagine with go down well with everyone! Use it on your own, a girly night in or even get the kids making it. I have to admit though, it looks that simple that even I could make one!
Super easy recipes for bath bombs & other beauty and bath treats made using natural ingredients. These young entrepreneurs give straightforward advice and recipes for making what can be pricey treats at the store.
My only complaint, and it's a small one, is that some of the recipes use essential oils tat sound like commercial fragrances.
