We finally get to find Eoghan! He is drawn to music and is able to follow that music to find his way out of the realm he was stuck on. He now has interesting eyes. He is also completely drawn to Thea, the musician who helped him.

Despite Death hiding away, she does make an appearance to Eoghan with a proposition. He is not completely convinced he is the person for the job, but soon finds himself fitting right in. Another advantage the Reapers have is that Bran does not know Eoghan is still alive, or the secret he carries.

Xaneth, a spy for both courts, kidnaps Thea which begins a whole rabbit hole of just who Thea is. She grew up in foster homes and has no idea of her powers or her true family. Eoghan has taken her as his, and works to find out the reason Thea is so important.

The ending of Dark Alpha's Hunger was a surprise to me. Down to everyone that helps confront the person responsible for Thea's problems. I was totally freaking out over how far things went. Reveals are made that may cause problems for multiple people and I am really worried about what the knowledge will bring to the Reapers.

Title aside, I don't have much to complain about this book. I love Thea, and I'm enjoying chipping away at Usaeil's character to discover what makes her tick so to speak.

I loved the characters and the storyline development of this book. It was absolutely one of my favorites so far and I can't wait to delve in to the next one that this author writes. The storyline was simple, enjoyable, and entertaining.

This book was so entertaining. I was drawn into the story from the beginning and was involved until the end. The characters were complex and interesting. I found the story to be well paced and engrossing throughout the whole book. I was invested in the couple throughout the book and felt all the emotions through both the highs and lows of the story. The side characters were such an integral part of this story as well. This is the love story i needed to read at this time. If you want an entertaining and well written book this is it for you

This is the sixth book in Donna Grant’s Reaper series. I must say that I’m very new to the series and so haven’t read the other books in this series. I found that you can read this book as a standalone book as Grant does do a really fast recap and it was light on information, but it was enough to keep you going for this book. As much as I enjoyed the story it felt that it was a little rushed and the characters didn’t get flushed out enough, so their relationship was a little on the fast track.

Even though I did end up liking the characters, I would have liked to see their back stories more flushed out as both really had interesting stories to tell. I think it the book was a little longer there would have been time to build up the chemistry that was already there. I really enjoyed reading this story, there was a good balance of action and romance that kept me reading and wanting to find out more. I think after reading this book I would like to get my hands on the first book and start the journey from the beginning. Happy reading!

I love all the reapers. Every time I read each ones story, I think ok I have a new favorite character. I’ve always loved dark and broody Bran and love his quiet stony-ness. I also love Eoghan and Thea s finally budding relationship. This book has definitely made the whole story line plot thicken and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Where fantasy and romance wonderfully mix...

This is the second of the series I’ve read and I just get more invested, the more I read! Thea and Eoghan’s courtship is filled with bravery and trust, which sometimes are hard to find. Not with the Reapers though and definitely not with the women they find at their sides...

Eoghan was rescued from the he** he had been existing in and was instantly taken with his rescuer. Thea was another great character – unique, warm-hearted and completely enthralled with Eoghan as well. Together, they were going to do battle. For Erith, for themselves. So many questions and they were determined to get answers – while falling in love...

This is great story-telling as usual with a story arc that is continues to build the tension... Erith is at the center of this series and I can’t wait for her and Cael’s story!

Predictable but enjoyable storyline. Fun and likable characters with some hot alpha qualities! Great world building as well! 3.5/5

The sixth installment of the Reaper's Series is charged with unexpected danger, magic, and dark revelations. Orphan Thea found her lifeline in music. While other children were adopted, Thea was always left behind. When she fell into a deep depression, it was music that rescued her. Now, even though she plays for small crowds with her band, it is the circle of ancient stones that call to her and the music she plays. From the moment Eoghan was sucked into another realm by the vortex of dark and light fae magic that Bran and Rhi created, all he knew was darkness and pain... Until the notes of a violin reached him. The magic of Thea's music was strong enough to reach across realms and save Eoghan. He knew she was half-fae from the moment they met. She intrigued him and captivated him. As soon as Eoghan crossed realms, Death found him. With a new mission, Eoghan will do Death's bidding as the leader he was always meant to be. That, however, didn't make him forget about Thea. When a dark fae targets her, Eoghan will do anything to find her and keep her safe. But the biggest shock is the reason why she is taken... For centuries Eoghan has kept his silence. The betrayal he suffered was such that he could not bring himself to speak. Then Death asks more of him. Eoghan is loyal, just, fierce, and powerful. He is also Thea's mate. She just doesn't know it yet. The reapers almost lost Eoghan, but now that he is back, he becomes their secret weapon against Bran and the new evil that is affecting the Dark World... Another addictive tale of magic by Donna Grant.

There is another group of reapers? Does this mean the upcoming war is going to require more cannon fodder or more power to win it? This latest book in the series features Eoghan. He's the reaper who was brought back from some trapped hell world. Not quite in the right mind, he could be a help to his fellow reapers or he could be a point of weakness.

There are studies which show using music to help heal people and bring them back to their sanity. It appears that Ms. Grant may have latched on to this theory and brought a new skill for a reaper's "one". Thea is an interesting character. She is an orphan with some skills that are inexplicable. This makes sense to those who know the supernatural world. Since she's only part fae, she is missing some key information which would help her understand herself. What she does know is that her singing can be beguiling. Her sweet and melancholy songs lures in an obviously dangerous male - Eoghan.

The mating dance between the two is a bit odd. Thea is hesitant as is Eoghan. Yet their chemistry sparks and even though they want to continue down the path of love… Eoghan breaks it off. This mysterious lover of Thea is suspect by her protective friends, and for good reason. Thea suddenly comes on to the radar of every soul sucking dark fae.

There were a couple of subplots in this story which sets up for books later in this series. In some ways, this story feels like a filler story because it takes a departure from the books leading up and does not really kick off the new arc in a strong manner. Still, I really enjoyed this book because I loved the music aspect of it. Plus I did like Thea and her finding out about her past. It is a doozy. This book is recommended to be read as part of the series. As a standalone it can be left wanting.

Eoghan & Thea's story. Eoghan was lost in the darkness after the battle with Bran, but Thea's music spoke to his soul and led him into the light. There's not much forward progression in the Bran saga with this, but we find another player and a new team of Reapers.

She saved him in every way possible. He would protect her the only way he knew how. Two souls drawn together. Sometimes finding out about your past opens the door to your future. First book I have read in this series and I definitely want to read more of them!

You can always count on Donna Grant writing a story that pulls you in, and Dark Alpha's Hunger was no exception. Though, at times, I felt like so many characters are being introduced and coming at you all at once. In my opinion, because of this, Thea and Eoghan didn't seem to get their fair share of buildup in this one for me, making the story seemed rushed. It still contains nothing less than what you'd expect from this author, which is an intriguing read that will keep you coming back to the series. Enjoy!

I’ve only read book 5 in the series, but it would have help immensely to have read the whole series. Eoghan and Thea have a great story, but their romance was a litle lackluster for me.

ARC received for review

Yeah! Eoghan is finally rescued from the dark pit and whatever creature was chasing him. Thea is an orphan, so she has no knowledge of Fae or that she is even one. She was perfect for him, and when she finds out who her mother...wow.

It was nice not to have a battle with Bran, especially if he wasn't going to die. And now I know why Ms. Grant's website has listed books 8 and 9 (titles to be announced later).

Dark Alpha's Hunger by Donna Grant. This was a fun quick read beautifully done by this author. While this is not my first read, I find Donna Grant books really are enjoyable. Eoghan and Thea were great together and I loved how Donna Grant wrote the magic and pull of music into their love story. Length wise, this did feel really short I love books that have love and magic attached and will definitely be going back to read books 1-5. Donna Grant welcome back on my radar. This had enough Light and dark to have me connected the whole way through.

Well that was surprising… and I didn’t realize how many times I would be having that thought in this rather short novel. I have really enjoyed getting to know these Reapers and was sad that their series was going to be coming to an end, an inherent part of any series based around a character-set with a certain number—there are always only seven reapers—so I was thrilled to know that wasn’t going to be the case after all. When Eoghan went missing there was a hole in his team and that loss was felt strongly, so when I realized this story was his return, I knew I was going to enjoy every second of seeing him fall in love. Thea was a real sweetheart, obviously the type of woman that has lived her life on her own terms, but has resided mostly in her own head and survived on her musical talent. If you are just coming into this series, this book is a good one to jump in on, giving you plenty of back story and letting you fall in love with the characters while at the same time not leaving you longing for the subtle details you might have missed. Eoghan was a man after my own heart, broken by his past for thousands of years, when he looks into the eyes of the woman who saved him from the Dark he knows immediately that Thea is different and his life will never be the same now that she is in it. I loved seeing him overcoming his fear and his past in order to let Thea into his heart so that he could gift it to her. Thea was a dangerous temptation to Eoghan without even trying to be, but her grounded nature and ability to remain humble even in the face of all the magic and danger around her shows her to be a truly unique individual. I enjoyed watching her find her place in Eoghan’s world and when she stood up to the enemy that made herself known, I fell as madly in love with her as Eoghan had. I loved every second of the passion between these two and I was sad to see the end of the story, but I know there will be more magic coming soon. I am thrilled that the series will be continuing and loved learning more about the Dark world and the Dragon Kings series as well as the Reapers and cannot wait for the next book in the entire world and of course whatever comes next in the series. If you love the Dark World books, jump on this one now, if you haven’t read her (crazy people) then I still suggest running out and grabbing the entire Reaper series and the Dark Kings series if nothing else. Then you can spread your wings slowly!

An awesome addition to the Dark Kings series. Thea and Eoghan’s attraction is palpable. They really heat up the pages! Thea’s Secret (that even she doesn’t know) will knock you for a loop. I can’t wait for more!!
5 stars!
