I have read several of Ms. Grant's different series over the years...Dark Sword, Dark Kings, Heart of Texas, Sons of Texas, and Masters of Seduction and her stories are FANTABULOUS! I love her writing style so much. She captures you and you are in for the ride of your life. So many emotions and suspense and most importantly the chemistry between the H/h is beyond cataclysmic. I am so behind in this series and I have only read this book , which happens to be number 6. I have to play catch up, Lol. This is Thea and Eoghan's story and though I was a bit lost, not much, I enjoyed this read very much! As with her other books in the Dark Sword and Dark Kings series most of the stories are interwoven and you do need to keep up with some of the characters names but seeing as I have her other series I was keeping right along with the story line. I liked this facet of the story about Death and her Reapers.. I am an avid fan of Ms. Grant's work and will continue to read all of her stories. I loved it! 4.5 stars!!!!

Having been captured with curiosity on this series of course I seem to have landed in it when it is already full steam. The concept of reapers has been a fascinating one with this series seems to have got a good handle on it. This author also delivers a full pack story that goes with the characters-Eoghan and Thea. They have their roles with you getting caught into their world. Music is also a key but then it is universal. You are given a full body in story that keeps you interacting with it. The romance can be steamy with bone melting to be had. For the most part pretty good but my fault for not reading others before hand.
Qnother great series from the wonderful Donna Grant. I just can not get enough of her writing. Well done.
In the other Reaper books, there were moments of Eoghan's fight for survival, and I was thrilled with the way author Donna Grant handled the past, present, and future of the amazing characters in DARK ALPHA'S HUNGER. There are some unexpected twists to go along with this new addition to Ms. Grant's Reaper stories. Not only does Thea save Eoghan and learn the secrets of his world, but there is a new batch of Reapers who need his experience as they plan to continue the battle with Bran. Three Dark and three Light, five males and one female,
There are a number of secrets that come to light that will astound readers some expected and some totally out of the realm of our imaginations, but twists and turns we expect to come from Ms. Grant.

Dark Alpha's Hunger by Donna Grant is book Six in the Reaper series. This is the story of Thea and Eoghan. I have read the previous books which added to my enjoyment of this one, but you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so.
This has been such an exciting series to read and this book just added more to the series. Thea's music smooths Eoghan who is in a dark place. Their bond starts to grow opening them both up to a life they didn't think they would have but there is still the threat that continues for this series.
Overall loved reading their story and can't wait for the next installment into the series!
Dark Alpha’s Hunger by Donna Grant
Reaper #6
I have a feeling that the last Reaper, Cael, who has not met his mate may do so in the coming book BUT, that said, there are six new Reapers and a new character or two that have appeared in this book so who knows what will happen next. I do see an eventual battle between Bran and Death and perhaps a few others but will it be in the next book or not?
In this book I loved the way Eoghan emerges almost as if being birthed from the earth and all because of Thea’s violin playing and drawing him out. I enjoyed their story – though short – and was happy they found a way to be together. I wonder if the “humans” in the story will make an appearance again in the future…the humans that were part of Thea’s musical group. And, as many Reapers as are finding true love and getting to be with their mates I now wonder why Death REALLY had Bran’s woman killed so many many years ago…anyway…
This was an entertaining story that had good and evil pitted against one another, was filled with action, continued the Reaper saga and sets the reader u for what may soon be an epic battle. I can’t wait to see how it will all work out. At some point I would like to read this series from beginning to end but even without having done so I found this to be an enjoyable book to read.
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC – This is my honest review.
4 Stars
Loved this addition to the series! Eoghan is trapped in the dark and music is the only thing that leads him back to the real world. The story is fast-paced with lots of drama and suspense. Thea is the light to Eoghan’s dark. The story really drew me and the chemistry is amazing.
Dark Alpha's Hunger by Donna Grant is Book 6 of the Reaper Series and it is important for readers to be aware that these books are best read in order.
Ms. Grant is at it again with her exceptional series featuring the long-standing battle between the light and dark fae. Captivating, sexy and highly addicting, this paranormal goodie is one you don’t want to miss. Oh hell, who am I kidding...anything from Ms. Grant is a must-read!

This is book 6 in a series and I had not read any of the previous books. At first it was not easy to understand who all the characters were and how they were connected but as I read, some of the pieces feel together. There are still some parts that I just didn't get but overall the story was interesting and suspenseful.
Thea helps Eoghan escape from a dark world and the attraction between them is immediate but he won't act onit. Apparently, Reapers were not allowed to have a relationship but all that has changed. Even with the change, Eoghan doesn't feel he should allow Thea in his life.
Poor Thea finds out who her mother is and that her life as an orphan was better than having her mother in her life.
Lots of twists and turns and the battle against Bran is getting closer. I really want to read the next book in the series to find out what happened to the Light Queen and why Death wants to wait for her "time" and loved that Death is preparing to take on Bran, sounds like an exciting book to read!
I’ve loved the Reaper series, yet in Dark Alpha’s Hunger we take a slight turn from what has been the thread running through all of the stories so far. Oh, that thread isn’t done, but we are introduced to more characters in Dark Alpha’s Hunger which has my curiosity up about what is to come. It also means that this review is going to be short for I don’t want to let any spoilers slip past me while talking about this new addition to an enjoyable, intriguing series.
Thea and Eoghan’s romance is intriguing in several ways. I understand that many readers don’t like when an author seems to toss in another avenue for her characters to travel, one that was unseen previously. Yet, from what I know of Eoghan from the earlier books, his personality, his vow, the betrayal, simply his presence as a secondary character I find this fascinating to watch the unfolding of where Reaper is heading. I still want the ultimate villain dealt with, but putting six additional warriors under Eoghan’s command makes for an interesting future to the series, one that I’m definitely intending to follow.
Thea is a charming, almost haunting character. Left at an orphanage at a tender age she was never chosen for adoption. One teacher leads her to music as something she can claim as her own, and the love of her life is born. Thea is more than she understands, and watching that unveiling along with her love for Eoghan made for an interesting story line, for me. And I’m going to stop now for fear of letting my fascination with these turns of events have me saying too much.
I enjoyed entering the Reaper world once again, and I cannot wait to see how things turn out next. You’ll find mention of known characters in Dark Alpha’s Hunger. Do you have to have read the others to enjoy this one? That’s hard for me to answer… I want to say you would enjoy this one on its own, yet you will get so much more if you’ve read or can read the previous stories. I would definitely recommend this novella and this series to any reader who loves magic, fae, paranormal and an introduction to a fascinating world.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
I really enjoyed this one! Loved the music aspect, and I felt the connection between Eoghan and Thea. The way they meet is really sweet, and they have passion together. Thea is half-Fae, who has power through her music. This music leads Eoghan to her, and draws them together. Eoghan is a Reaper that has been trapped, but needs to get back into the fight to save Death. Eoghan struggles with the needs of other and his own needs, but there's only so long he can resist temptation. Someone is after Thea, and there is a mystery to just who is after her. Dark Alpha's Hunger goes off in a different direction than the last book; there's less of the Bran stuff, this is more of a side story, but things are starting to come together. Entertaining and drew me in.
This was my first Donna Grant book and I can honestly say that I am intrigued. Though it wasn't the best PN book I've ever read, I definitely enjoyed the writing style and the story line. I got sucked in into the characters' lives, their feelings and fate.
Thea and Eoghan are two quite interesting characters in my opinion. They both lived through hardships and heartbreak that defined them as the people they are when they first meet. Their attraction is immediate and though Eoghan tries to fight it, also inevitable. I did enjoy their story with the slightly suspenseful edge to it and the beautiful and devoted relationship that developed. But to be honest, the ease with which Thea accepted that practically all fairy tales were true was kind of too easy. I would've expected a little bit more resistance. Even her best friend accepted all the strange things happening around her with ease. She might've protested a little but that was kind of it.
With that being said, I still think that Dark Alpha's Hunger is a pretty good read. I am definitely intrigued by the series and I am looking forward the next book in the series which hopefully will be about Cael :) In the mean time, I am planning on binge reading the first 5 ;)
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is definitely a series you will want to read all together, because there is a lot going on in the series plot that is not explicitly spelled out in each book, but is referenced enough to make things confusing. This series has a formula, and Eoghan and Thea's story is no exception. Guy meets girl, he is all wrong for her, he wants to protect her, the Death/Reaper/Fae plot gets in the way, HEA.
“Dark Alpha’s Hunger” is an intense and gripping thrill of a read. I have been waiting to discover Eoghan’s fate ever since he was ripped from the Reapers by Bran and I have to say that his story is one satisfying read. Not only does Eoghan get his story but Thea is a strong and fascinating heroine that is perfect for Eoghan and their first meeting is a spectacular and unique one. The chemistry is electrical and the passion is hot but the romance is full of danger and emotional turmoil that will have to be overcome before they can reach for the HEA and the fast paced, smooth flowing plot is thrilling, full of excitement and suspense that keeps readers turning the pages. The story is further enhanced with secrets being revealed and surprising twists that ensure readers want to know every last detail and of course ensures that they come back for more.
This fascinating world just keeps getting better and while the story was a bit on the short side, Donna Grant fit quite a bit of information, excitement and suspense in and blended it all together seamlessly so that reader get quite the story. I loved “Dark Alpha’s Hunger and definitely can’t wait to read the next book, especially after all the twists and plot reveals that took place in this one.
Thea and Eoghan's story will grab you right from the start. She is a musical prodigy, but fears she will forever be alone. He is a fierce warrior, but is hesitant at the new role he needs to accept. When her music pulls him from the darkness, everything changes. Action, adventure and mysticism intertwine with romance. While this story can be read alone, my recommendation is that you need to have read the previous in the series as there is a overall arc that this story pushes. Not a lot of background is given.
Oh my word! This has to be one of my favourite Reaper books yet! We learned so much about Eoghan and I fell in love with him even more! He had a horrible end to his life, before becoming a Reaper, my heart was broken for him. Thea keeps everyone at a distance, but she's full of life, spunk and heart. Her music is unlike anything Eoghan has ever known and he just cannot stay away. The instant chemistry and heat sparked a flame in my kindle, I was unable to put this story down. I loved how this book flowed and the new details we learned were so good! I cannot wait for the next installment in the Reaper Series!
Another wonderful well written story in this paranormal series. The characters are magnificent and have a wonderful vibe
I received a copy from Netgalley and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion
Loved this passion, romance and fast paced book! Talk about delving into a complex storyline of the dark, light and far world! Loved it!!
She's done it again! Another terrific Reaper story from this fabulous author. It's been awhile since I've read a story in this series and it's good to catch up. I also like the bit of crossover with her other series. The Dragon Kings is one of my favorites and still the ultimate dragon series. This one had our sexy hero, Eoghan, released from "Hell" after centuries of torture. His release was prompted by our lovely heroine's violin playing and her magic music. I love this element of the story. Thea as a Halfling is the dark about her heritage and she’s a wonderful heroine. Her heritage comes into play and embraces her powers to save the day as she comes into her own. The instant connection and chemistry between our would-be lovers is fantastic. They team up to defeat the evil Fae. But who is the culprit...the Dark or the Light? The story takes us on a venerable ride into darkness where the line between good and evil is fussy and things are not as they seem. It's full of mystery, intrigue, danger and sexy romance. There are a lot of characters to keep up with and several minor plot lines that will continue in future stories. And all those sexy Reapers! Guys and gals. Her inclusion of strong heroic women is one of my favorite elements of this author’s writing. Although this can be read as a stand-alone it's nice to have the background from the previous books. I love them all! You can't go wrong with any of these terrific stories. A fabulous fantasy story with terrific characters is the hallmark of this series!
