This book is another winner for Donna Grant ! In this latest Reapers story we finally discover what happened to Eoghan and who saves him from the darkness. In this book the author took me on a riveting journey that kept me captivated the entire way.

It would take a powerful Hafling to bring Eogham back from the dark realm where Bran had cast him. Thea had more strength, and connections, than anyone realized. Yet she was so very vulnerable and so for the first time in a very long time our silent warrior was ready to break more than one vow. These two characters had a palpable chemistry that was evident right from the beginning even though Eoghan resisted it for a while ..... just until Thea was in danger and then all bets were off. Their path to happy ever after took so many twists and turns and revealed one shocker after another.

This was a passionate adventure that held me completely enthralled until the very last page. Erith, aka Death, played a huge part in this story that was so suspenseful I was left breathlessly anticipating the next book. Let's just say that Death had more than one trick up her sleeve and this chick is definitely not going down without a fight. Donna Grant also took the series in a new direction. I am extremely excited about the new thread as this series only grows more exciting with this book.

Donna Grant spins a fascinating fantasy story in this book. If possible I fell even more in love with The Reapers Series and continue to eagerly anticipate each new book.

It was a great read. Love the characters and story. It has some great twists and turns. Readers will be drawn into the story from the first page.

I preface this review by freely admitting that I have not read the entire series. This does make following the story somewhat difficult at times. I did not know who Eoghan was but that did not detract from the story. It was easy to figure out and follow. This gentleman had apparently been lost in a dark dimension for some time. The sound of beautiful preternatural music leads to his escape and his meeting Thea. The problem I have with these books are the length—not only the length of story but also the short length of time it takes and main characters to fall in love. It rings hollow and is unrealistic, and this is not the first Reaper book I have read. The story with Erith is also getting old, I don’t know the whole tale but it’s annoying the hell out of me. I feel like these books are rushed and short and therefore don’t get fleshed out very well. I don’t expect this to change.

The Dark Alpha’s Hunger is book six in the Reaper series, a spinoff of the Dark Kings series. Which I have been reading and love. Most romance novels you can pick up any book in the series and read it out of order. While this is somewhat true I had a bit of trouble following along with the world and references to past stories and believe it may have been easier if I started with book one, but it’s not a must. I plan to do plan to read the others in this series because this book was amazing and while this is in the Dark Kings world there wasn’t too much overlap in this book so I don’t think it’s absolutely necessary to read the Dark Kings series as well, but I do recommend it.

Eoghan is a Reaper with a traumatic past that drove him to a vow of silence. Thea is a orphaned half fae with a love for the violin. Her music draws Eoghan from a dark place and to her. Thea is drawn into this mysterious world of fae and reapers that she knew nothing about.

This book has so many twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. As they search for a rogue reaper that’s trying to kill death herself the characters get caught up in another’s plot and find themselves drawn into secrets that few know.

This book was provided by NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

Eoghan is a Reaper, part of a group that do Death's bidding. Eoghan was betrayed horribly in life so when he returned as a Reaper he chose not to speak. He was trusted by his fellow Reapers though, as he trusted them. Eoghan was pulled into another realm, a realm of darkness and being chased by something he knew would kill him if he was caught.

Thea was an orphan with no knowledge of her family. She worked in a band, playing her beloved violin. Her love of music sustained her in life. She is drawn to a portal and goes there to play her violin whenever she gets a chance. She feels a need to be there.

While being chased by the creature in the realm, Eoghan hears the music and it calls to him. The music in effect saves him because he is able to escape the realm in safety. Afraid the creature will escape also his words to Thea is run....and she does...as he passes out.

Death informs Eoghan that he has another purpose...to lead a new group of Reapers with hopes that he original group and this group can find their common enemy. But now he will catch up with his fellow Reapers and meet his new group.

He finds Thea once again, the music drawing him to her. This is the first night of the rest of her life as there is an attempt to kidnap her. Are they after her or Eoghan? This is when she finds out she is half fae and begins to understand why she always felt so different....

Eoghan swears to protect her, as she saved his life but their attraction continues to grow. After the betrayal Eoghan experienced he doesn't want to take a chance so he pushes her away. He is the only one that doesn't see they were meant to be together.

Will they figure out who is the intended victim and why? Will Eoghan give in to his feelings and finally be happy? Will the Reaper's get closer to finding their enemy?

This book is part of a series but is a standalone read. I am a big fan of Ms. Grant's and have read many of her books. Why I really enjoyed the story, I felt like a few questions in my mind weren't answered, although I am sure they will be in following stories. The main point was addressed, the characters finding love, finding their soul mates.

I loved Eoghan and his relationship with his new group of Reapers. He is like a legend to them and he treats them as he should, with trust and respect. I also liked seeing his interact with his other group of Reapers, whom hadn't seen him in a very long time. I loved how he finally let go of the pain from his life and found happiness with Thea.

I would buy this book for sure. I couldn't wait to read Eoghan's story.

Absolutely riveting! Dark Alpha's Hunger is everything a romance is supposed to be. Donna Grant is a master storyteller who ups her game with each subsequent book. This one is by far my favorite. From the very first page I was utterly enchanted by the story. I couldn't set the book aside and read well into the night. This one definitely knocked my socks off! I was utterly crushed when it ended!

This is a world with fae and magic. Death has a secret army of Reapers who she sends out after someone has been judged and given a death sentence. Humans don’t know anything about this magical world.

It starts with Thea, who was left at an orphanage as an infant. She has always felt different and no one wanted to adopt her. When one teacher introduces her to music she finds her refuge. She keeps being drawn to these standing/portal stones and she likes to go there and play her violin. On one visit, something happens and a man reaches out from the stones, trying to escape. She grabs Eoghan’s hand and helps him escape from a type of hell. There is something magical about Thea’s music and it draws Eoghan (a fae Reaper) to her.

I really liked this story and the characters. Death (a woman) gives Eoghan a team to lead and each warrior has a different background but they are building a working relationship. Thea and Eoghan work as a couple, both are strong in their own way and the growing mutual attraction was fun to watch.

I didn’t realize this was the sixth book in the series, but I still enjoyed reading it. The only other book I’ve read by this author had dragons but now I want to go back and read the earlier books in this series.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this for Netgalley

Book 6 in the Reaper's series and you absolutely have to read the books before it or you will be lost as to what is going on. Especially as those books affect one of the main characters in this book. This book is about Eoghan and Thea. Thea is an orphan who knows nothing about her family or her heritage. And she certainly doesn't realize that she is a halfling. All she truly knows is that she needs and loves her music. It's a part of her and makes her feel whole. And because she answers the call of her music she manages to pull Eoghan out of the hell he was stuck in for so long. And she definitely didn't know that was going to change her whole life.

I absolutely love this series and I kept hoping that Eoghan's book would do him justice. And let me tell you, this book did NOT disappoint! I don't want to say much because I don't want to spoil it for others but there are things in here that you will not see coming in any way shape or form! And it is such a good read that you will be hooked from the get go and not be able to put it down. Eoghan and Thea are great characters that make you feel for them in ways you won't expect. And the twists and turns just made it my favorite in this series!

Oh my, mysterious, quiet, and loyal, Eoghan lived up to all my expectations! He was sweet, thoughtful, intelligent, and so full of feels...Ack! I couldn’t help but love him!

Thea had my curiosity peaked from the start. Part human/fae, Thea was smart, quirky, musically gifted, but had a past I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy! She was a great match for Eoghan with her creative temperament, and I loved how the two brought out the better halves of each other.

Eoghan’s romantic timing (rather the lack of) with Thea was frustrating at times, but the end result made up for his delays. I enjoyed their interactions and conversations, yet wish the story focused more on them. Sharing pages with Cael, Death, and one rather unsavory character was great and furthered the overall plot, but I wanted...you know, just more of Eoghan and Thea.

Due to the length of this series, I’m hit and miss when reading the books in order, but I can usually start one and not be too lost. Grant always provides enough background to catch readers up to speed. The Dark Alpha series I’ve read separate from the Dark World and haven’t had any trouble following who’s who. For a deeper understanding of the politics, Dragon Kings, and power struggles, read the books in order for sure. Otherwise, if you’re looking for quick, steamy, action-packed reads, the Dark Alpha series is a good place to pop in without too much trouble!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Full of magic, unbreakable friendships, and romance, this one has absolutely everything I look for in an urban fantasy.  Donna Grant is a writer who will constantly surprise; and just when you think she's at the top of her game, she will go on to become impossibly better.

This is the 6th book in the Reaper series and whilst it can be read as a standalone I recommend reading the previous books in the series which provide an understanding of the characters and the worldbuilding .
Having read all the Dragon King and Druid series books I was expecting great things from this book and whilst I enjoyed the story I did not think it flowed as well as previous books .

Thea is an orphan and half fae ………….music is her solace and passion ………..drawn to standing stones since childhood she finds herself playing her violin one evening within the circle of stones.
Lost in the music she suddenly realises that a portal is beginning to open and a man is trying to get through - using all her strength she manages to pull him out . Thea find herself facing a beautiful man …...Eohgan is a Reaper and has been trapped and tortured in another realm until he heard Thea's music opening the portal .
Determined to protect her he leaves thinking it would keep her safe from his enemies but she is kidnapped …………..it is only by playing her music that Eoghan and his fellow Reapers are able to find and rescue her .
Who is her kidnapper ?
What does is have to do with her past ?
How can Eoghan keep her safe ?
It is only by trusting each other and their attraction that all her secrets will be revealed .

I look forward to more from this Author in whichever series she writes .
I was given an arc of this book by NetGalley and the Publisher in exchange for my honest review.

Great continuation of Ms Grant’s other story lines. Definitely a stand alone book with enough back story to tie it in with her other works. Would definitely recommend..

This series just continues to amaze, amuse and frustrate :) It was a great story and a great addition to the the franchise at large. A new group of Reapers!! How brilliant is that? Usaeil looks to be coming close to her just rewards and the whole overall storyline seems to be gearing up for the big finale. Sooo so good. Thanks very much.

Great book. Loved his if followed the dark king timeline and connects. Learning so much about the fae queen and a little more about Rhi and hey dragon king. Can't wait to finally know who he is. Still have my theory.

Paranormal fantasy lovers will love Thea`s and Eoghan's story.
For me it was the first book in this series that I read. The plot is self-contained, so that you can read it without the other books. The plot wasn't really new, but I liked the aspect with the music/violin and I liked the other characters very much. The longer I read, the more I enjoyed immersing myself into the world of the reapers.
I'm sure if you read more of these books you will inevitably become a fan of this book series.

Thea is an orphan, a half fae and loves to play the violin. She is in a band and they get pretty good gigs. She has always been drawn to a set of portal stones. She goes there to play her music and all of a sudden a hand reaches out. She grabs and pulls as hard as she can and a beautiful man appears. Eoghan is a Reaper and has been trapped in the stones for awhile. He becomes leader of a second group of Reapers. Thea’s music helped him find his way out. There is something about her that draws him and he waits for her after a gig but someone else is there and tries to kill him. He takes her home and leaves but the man returns and kidnaps her. Eoghan is enraged and finds her by following her music. She is in a little cottage. They take her back to where they have their base. They go one a mission to find the fae that took her but of course she gets kidnapped again, by the Queen of Light. Can Eoghan get to her before it’s too late?
Very interesting story. Sexy, secrets, and surprises. The only thing I couldn’t pronounce most of the names. That’s a little annoying. Reapers, Death, Fae and magic.

I love Donna Grants Reapers! As soon as one comes out I read it so fast, I have to have the next release to know what happens next. This book is about Eoghan the Reaper and Thea.
We meet Thea as she is a child and is drawn to portal stones. She doesn't understand why and as she is grown, she goes back time and time again. One day as she is playing her violin, A hand comes out of the portal and we realize it is Eoghan finally being rescued. He was sent into another dimension a couple of books back.
Eoghan and Thea start to work together and fall in love. This book continues the story of Bran and how the Reapers are going to stop him. He is still draining magic from Death. Death, Rhi and Usaeil all make an appearance in this one. There is a scene where Usaeil talks about Rhi and her Dragon King. All the signs point to Con but we still don't know. Is it him or are being being lead to believe it is him? I think it will be dragged out till the end before we finally know.
We meet new characters to keep the story going on. More questions than answers but a great addition to the series. I look forward to the next release as well as the next Dragon Kings. These seem to be running parallel with each other. I am definitely hooked to the end
