i hadn't read book 1 of the series and while wasn't sure of the background/belief structure/level of either the good or bad guys, i wasn't particularly lost as the author made clear the basics of the series arc issues. Also while there appeared to be a good size cast of characters for the series, I appreciated that the author kept the focus primarily on the h/h's relationship and mission and didn't overwhelm the story with excess characters or plot lines (though I was left intrigued by the hints of Grant's potential future (next?) story). there was a lot of action and high/lows in the mission story though the very ending left a slightly dissatisfied feeling with a slight-ish cliffhanger. as for the relationship, there was definitely chemistry between Stella and Cole from the start. While things moved quickly there was also a feeling of things growing (not instant love) nor was Cole too over the top he-man alpha protective although he did feel more protective than he expected to early on. Stella was mostly smart (she had a couple "stupid" moments while trying to play spy). you got to see them work through and try to understand their growing feelings and just what they meant. Some of the sex euphemisms and talk was silly and childish at times which i found to be a little distracting. overall and enjoyable & balanced book.

Action packed!

Cole and Stella's story is full of drama and intrigue; heat and heart; humor and eye-rolling.

I voluntarily read an advanced copy.

Tiger's Claim, by Celia Kyle is a highly intriguing paranormal shifter action-suspense romance.

Cole Turner has a persona of a wealthy playboy, yet he's also a tiger shifter and part of the Shifter Operations Command, which is complied of alpha shifters dedicated to protecting all shifters. During an undercover mission, Cole encounters Stella Moore, a jaguar shifter, intent on using a bomb in revenge for the destruction of her family.

To protect the mission and their lives, Cole pretends to be romantically involved with Stella, which leads to Stella's further involvement in Cole's team current mission. While striving to stay alive and take down evil anti-shifters, Cole and Stella deal with their instant romantic attraction and mate possibilities.

As the second book in the Shifter Rogues series, it easily reads as a standalone, yet it's recommended to start with the first book to meet the secondary characters, particularly the shifter team members. The conversations and interactions between Cole and his team members are often entertaining, and I'm looking forward to reading future books in this series!

Tiger's Claim is geared towards those who enjoy reading paranormal action-suspense romances, particularly involving military-style shifters.

Note: I received this book from NetGalley, which is a program designed for bloggers to write book reviews in exchange for books, yet the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

I enjoyed it! Cole is incredibly arrogant, but hot. Stella has his number in no time. With a common goal proximity does it's job. The shifter haters are the normal mad men. Grant's antics kept me smiling throughout the story. The ending was good in spite of the fact it left me hanging on who the mole is.

3.5 Stars

Jaguar shifter Stella Moore has spent years planning revenge on a man who is part of a group that destroyed her shifter family. She finagles her way into a fancy party to finally satisfy her quest. Having lost everything, Stella is ready to go for broke when a sexy cat shifter who is playing is own game of subterfuge waylays her plans. Cole Turner is an undercover tiger shifter working for a secret agency determined to overthrow the human organization that seeks to eradicate shifters. He happens upon Stella who is about to literally blow up his plans. Cole decides not only is Stella is likely his mate, but he will do anything to keep her safe.

Stella has spent way too much time on her life’s goal to be left behind while Cole goes after her hated enemy. They go on an undercover assignment together in order to find out who are the top people and unfortunately, also find out if a mole exists in the shifter group. Stella and Cole spend much time in spy type maneuvers trying to find proof for their mission. Much to Cole’s chagrin, Stella is not content to just be arm candy and causes him much trouble along the way. Despite the growing attraction between them, neither wants to be distracted from their ultimate goals.

There is quite a bit of action and adventure, so much so that it is perhaps a detriment to Stella and Cole’s developing relationship. With the continuing high intensity situations, they seem to spend most of their time under duress or arguing how to conduct the mission despite Stella being essentially untrained to do so. This book is second in the Shifter Rogues series, but can be read as a standalone.

MAN, those SHOC guys can be clueless, can't they? They just barrel along (I'm looking at ALL of them, mind you) without realizing what it is they have in their hands or how to use a little diplomacy to bring another person around to their way of thinking. Not that I expected anything different from them, BUT STILL.

In this case, Cole has a vengeful jaguar shifter who REALLY wants to take her pound of flesh from the man who she perceives as destroying her family (I'm a little torn on whether he should be her entire focus considering he's just one cog in a big machine, but I can also see why she had him in her metaphorical crosshairs). The thing is, while Stella has her reasons for going after the bad guy, Cole's right when he pointed out (more than once) that she's not trained for this.

She nearly gets herself caught/captured more than once. Which is NOT a good thing when the people you're up against want to cause serious hurt to shifters any way they can. Being in danger also tends to send overprotective males into a bit of a frenzy and then they make sweeping declarations and do bone-headed things all in the name of keeping their special someone safe.

GOOD TIMES!

I'm enjoying this series. The bad guys are repulsive. The good guys sometimes have to do bad things for the greater good. There's a little mystery and a lot of sexy times. And, I dunno, there's a certain someone on Team Three that I think everyone needs to keep their eye on.

Cole and Stella were a very intriguing pair! The story started out a little slow and I was concerned I wasn't going to get through it. However it picked up and I ended up really enjoying it. I loved Stella and how tenacious she was throughout and Cole was a great character's as well. I hadn't read the first book in this series but I definitely will now. On top of Stella and Cole trying to become mates the story line was amazing and kept you reading to find out what's going to happen next. It was a little longer read then a typical quick hit Celia Kyle book but it still great, and always good for a few laughs. Enjoy!

Very good read, looks to be part of a series. What happens when a tiger and jaguar meet? Two shifters who do not like each other have to stay together to stay alive, of course this gives them time to know each other. If its not a series yet, there is enough hunks in this book that Celia Kyle should start one!

Quick(ish) Review

I liked it. It continues the story that is set up in the first book in the Shifter Rogues series, so that would be helpful to read first IMO. The action is good, the humor works, I just wish I enjoyed Cole and Stella’s relationship as much as I enjoyed Declan and Abby. Still, if you’re into shifters with some action/adventure thrown into the mix, you may enjoy this.

I love shifter books and this one ranked right up there with the best. Stella is a jaguar shifter and has a vendetta against Jaimes Walters who killed her sister. He was part of a group called Unified Humanity who hated all shifters. There she meets Cole (a tiger shifter) who stops her from blowing up the place She relunctically agrees to pose as his girlfriend to help expose the group and take them down. The story had lots of drama and excitement during their adventures. It gets more interesting when Cole figures out she is his mate but because he won''t let her kill Walters outrigght, it causes problems. It was a good read and kept me intrigued on what would happen nexy. I got this book from NetGalley for an honest review

Very entertaining read. Fast paced with the plot threads and well-crafted characters. Good chemistry between the lead characters and witty banter. I have read several books by Celia Kyle, and will read her future books without hesitation.

The characters we fun and interesting. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed Celia Kyle story so much I had to read her other books. Cole is a tiger shifter working for the Shifter Operations Command, trying to take down Unified Humanity. Stella is a jaguar shifter and wants revenge against the head of UH. After catching her trying to plant explosives, she has to pretend to be his girlfriend and stay the weekend on an island.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Forever/Grand Central Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I think this is part of a series as it had unanswered questions. It is an HEA but who is the mole? Stella is a jaguar out for revenge, she goes off half cocked and doesn't listen. I found her frustrating! Cole is a tiger after the same thing but wants answers first. They have great chemistry but I didn't call in love with this book. I rate it a 3.5. I think that most paranormal romance readers will enjoy it.

Cole is a tiger shifter, rich, and a member of SHOC, Shifters Operation Command. He is undercover trying to take down Unified Humanity, which are against shifter. Stella is a jaguar shifter and wants revenge against the head of UH. After catching her trying to plant explosives in Walters office, she has to pretend to be his girlfriend and stay the weekend on an island. They try to find dirt on the members and shut it down but someone in SHOC is helping them and they must identify the mole and find Walters again.

Action, steamy, a little funny, and shifters galore. A slight cliffhanger. Can’t wait to read the next one. So glad I picked this book up.

Ooo - I've found a new author! If you like Paige Tyler's shifters - you'll love Celia Kyle's. Great action shifter novel. With the right amount of romance action and fun. Looking forward to picking up her older stuff and seeing new!

Cole is a tiger shifter working for the Shifter Operations Command, trying to take down Unified Humanity or UH. UH is against shifters, thinking they are an abomination and trying to find a way to fix their "condition". While undercover at a party where funds are being raised to eliminate shifters, Cole finds a female shifter named Serena in Mr. Walters library. She has plans for Mr. Walters as he destroyed her family. When they are caught together, Cole gets her out of the party by pretending that she is his girlfriend. She finds out that Cole is a member of SOC and they are placed in a position that puts them on an island with a group of the UH. They must play their parts to be able to find the head of this organization. Serena wants justice and so does Cole. Will they be able to work together without killing each other? Will they catch the bad guys? There are parts of other stories running thru the book but they add to the story and I really liked the peeks into the other characters. I really loved this book. I received this book from Net Galley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing).
