"The Cow Said Neigh!" by Rory Feek was a beautifully illustrated children's book about the farm and animals that want to be something they are not. I feel like this had a great start to it setting up to talk about comparison and could have had an impactful message for kids. Instead, I felt a bit let down. I feel like the message of the book was unclear as there wasn't much of a point besides humor.
Very little kids would likely be amused with the story not having much expectations for it, but older kids would definitely be bored and uninterested.
I received this eBook free of charge from Thomas Nelson via NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review. I did not receive any fiscal compensation from either company for this review and the opinions expressed herein are entirely my own.

The only thing I liked about this book was the predictive rhyming cadence to the writing. I did not understand, nor did my students, as to why each animal heard one, but look to another. This was really confusing. They did thing it was funny that the animals said other noises, especially the cat saying hello. I would not use this book in my classroom, nor plan to read it again.

Alright, that was a delightfully fun story. The Cow Said Neigh! Is a mixed up sound book about animals who long to be another animal.
Silly rhymes, fun noises and bright illustrations make this book great for younger kids.

My son adored this book. He is really loving animal sounds right now, so this was a huge win. Great illustrations and an adorable spin on “the grass is greener.”

The Cow Said Neigh! A Farm Story by Rory Feek is a very cute and clever story with illustrations that come alive for the reader and little one listening to the story. The animal characters are well done in every way — writing and illustrations. It is a silly story children will love about animals thinking on how it would be if they were another animal. You’ll find rhyme and animal sounds included in this delightful little story.
Throughout the story little ones will learn a little about animals and their sounds. It is a good learning tool done in a silly way, which kids love too. “Pigs don’t bark like a dog, do they” the reader might say to the child and they learn no a dog “barks” and a pig “oinks”. This is a book that is good for early reading aloud and early learning readers too. Having this book is definitely a recommendation!

Thank you to #netgalley for giving me a copy of #TheCowSaidNeigh!(pictureBook) to review. I enjoyed the rhymes in the book and my kids did too. This was a fun way to talk about animal sounds and reminded us a little of Bark, George. I do wish that it ended with the animals wanting to be themselves, but it was still a cute book.

Rory Feek's book will delight readers of all ages. As the most unexpected sounds begin to emerge from the various animals on the farm, readers will be excited to just what comes next. This title will make a wonderful storytime read-aloud and will have kids wanting to make all kinds of animal sounds.

This is an absolutely delightful book, and I look forward to reading it for storytime! The rhythm is good and the pictures are big and bright. The children will be able to interact with the reader by making the animal sounds.

The Cow Said Neigh is a cute little story for the young ones. It goes through a series of animals that make a different sound than they are supposed to make. This idea has been done before in children’s books and on videos but this book has a fun way about it that makes it its own. I really enjoyed it and chuckled with delight at the end. The full-color pictures on each page were well done and fit the story really well. It’s a book to be enjoyed over and over by the little people in our lives.

I adored this book and my nieces and nephews got a big laugh out of all of the animals "saying" the wrong sounds. The rhythm was great and the illustrations were a hit. Great for 3-5 year olds!

My toddler and I absolutely love this book. The story is great and the illustrations in the book are big and beautiful! We actually read this ebook every night before bed and he loves making all the animal noises with the correct animal. Thank you for allowing my son and I to sample this beautiful book.

The Cow Said Neigh by Rory Feek is such a cute book. The rhyming is catchy and lyrical. It's the kind of doing that will keep parents coming back. And the artwork will catch the eye of little ones. My kids are teens now, but they can still quote their favorite books from when they were little. This book promises to be one of those type books.

Witty! I loved this story told in rhyme! Each of the animals perceives another animals life to be better and learns to make the sound associated with that animal in hopes of being mistaken for it by the farmer! Illustrations are cute! I think the littles are going to be demanding rereads so parents and other caregivers be forewarned!

My two year old giggled and kept saying, No! Silly Cow! We enjoyed reading this story together and the kids found it fun!

This is an adorably illustrated picture book with a fun lyrical quality. It is sure to appeal to toddlers and would make a great read aloud. I laughed several times as the animals managed to mix their sounds all up. I wouldn't hesitate to add it to the home, school or public library collection.

A darling picture book with a whimsical turn on 'the grass is always greener', where the farm animals all imagine what it would be like to be another animal on the farm. Even the farmer gets in on the act! The bright cheery pictures will be sure to engage your little one. Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review. #TheCowSaidNeigh!(pictureBook) #NetGalley

“The grass is always greener on the other side.” In Rory Feek’s The Cow Said Neigh! A Farm Story, each farm animal wants to be a different one by mimicking the sounds of the other. (Full review on Hope by the Book magazine web content dated 10/19/2018)

This picture book is full of cute pictures and would be an enjoyable read to small children. I think it misses the opportunity to give a message, such as the farmer appreciating each animal as they are.

Absolutely wonderful!
This is a charming, silly animal sounds book that can be read with a musical rhythm. Sure to get your little in a silly mood and make fun sounds!
Beautifully illustrated, as well.

This rhyming book does little to break new ground, but the meter is strong and the text and pictures are entertaining. The author is famous in his own right, and will help to sell this book in some circles Not an essential purchase, but libraries that need farm books will be served well by this volume.
