This rhyming book does little to break new ground, but the meter is strong and the text and pictures are entertaining. The author is famous in his own right, and will help to sell this book in some circles Not an essential purchase, but libraries that need farm books will be served well by this volume.

I love it! This is a wonderfully illustrated and highly entertaining picture book for preschoolers. The story is simple and silly, but I can see my kiddos really enjoying this one! We often discuss animals on the farm and pretend to make their sounds. With this silly twist im sure my children will be correcting me as I go,
The illustrations really make this story! I highly recommend it!
Thank you to Thomas Nelson and NetGalley for this e-copy in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are my own.

This is likely to be very appealing to young children. Repetition, especially of animal sounds, goes over well with toddlers. And they find nothing funnier than animals making the wrong noises. Pair it with "Bark, George".

A great book that young children will love. I really enjoy books for this age that rhyme and this one has some really lovely illustrations to go with it. Perfect for little ones who are learning farm animals names and sounds. Perfect bedtime reading!

This would be a funny and wacky book for storytime for older toddlers who already know their animal sounds. I don't think I would would recommend for kids who are still learning their animals sounds because it would be very confusing. I liked the illustrations and the rhyming verse. Overall, it was a fun book that I think kids would find entertaining.

I received an ARC of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

L-O-V-E! LOVE IT!

The cadence in this story is perfect! As a mother that reads aloud A LOT of books, rhythm is very important, but as this book comes from a musician, it doesn't surprise me that it's spot on. It's sweet and simple, goofy and fun. Each animal has a unique character and the illustrations capture them perfectly. Attention to even the smallest details is what gives the book heart. The picture on the side table features Rory's family, the farmer's overalls his signature. As a huge fan of farm books and because of the author, the authenticity rings true. I'll be adding this book to my wish list, I could read it over and over.

A fun story told in rhyme about animals and the sounds they made. I could see how this would be giggle-inducing for little kids... What's nice is that the rhyme allows for the kids to guess what the animal is going to say. Good for interaction with kids.

Many options available: can be used for sounds, prediction, and/or conversation starters about being yourself, similarities/differences, etc. Beautifully illustrated.

4.5 Stars. This picture book is a fun story that will be a real hit with kids who love silly rhyming stories. We start out with a cow who thinks the horse lives in greener pastures, so decides to try on the horse's voice and goes neigh. Then the horse sees a duck, and the duck sees a sheep, and so it continues as we check in on the various animals you'd expect to find on a farm. Of course while reading this with a two year old, she kept making the animal sounds and laughing as each animal made the wrong noise. The playful rhymes follow a good pattern and the illustrations were adorable. I really liked the cartoon like animals and the expressions on their faces. This is a cute story that would be a great one for young children, especially those learning about farms and farm animals. The publisher, Thomas Nelson, generously provided me with a copy of this book upon my request. The rating, ideas and opinions are my own.

When a cow sees a horse running wild and free it lets out an envious “neigh.” That horse sees a duck. No one rides on a duck’s back, so the horse gives out an envious “quack.” On it goes through the farm with animals envying something about another until even the farmer gets involved.

Wonderfully illustrated and humorous and with rhythm, rhyme, and animal sounds, this book is sure to be a crowd pleaser!

Marvelous farm picture book with fantastic illustrations that will tickle your fancy. This book helps teach children that although they dream that everyone’s life is better than theirs, there’s happiness to be found right where they are! Kids 0-8 will love this.

A fun lyrical book with onomatopoeia to help kids learn animal sounds. The book engages the child through anticipation of the sounds the animal should make and silliness when they make a different sound. Although a fun, bright and cheerful book, the ending feels abrupt and it could have used one more line to bring the story full circle.

Who ever heard a cow go neigh? Wait until you meet all the animals on this farm. Not one makes the right kind of noise!

Thomas Nelson's Children's Books and Net Galley allowed me to read this book for review (thank you). It has been published so you can grab a copy now.

The cutest is watching the dog meow. And if that's not enough for you, the farmer moos...

This children's picture book is fantastic! It is a cute story with beautiful illustrations. The patterned text will pull your child into the story and give them a few surprises too! It will also allow your child to fill in words if you pause at the end of the page. This is perfect for preschool up to K-1. I received and advance copy of this cute, imaginative story and I willingly chose to write an honest review. As a parent and classroom teacher I love it!

We like silly books in our house! The pictures were adorable and it was good for my daughter to figure out what each animal would say based on the story and not sure the picture. Especially since it wasn't saying what she knew to be correct.

A very entertaining book for children up to kindergarten/first grade as they learn to read. The very young ones will love learning the sounds animals make and what sounds they should make. The illustrations are gorgeous. Very colorful.

I would definitely use this in any preschool classroom I am in.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Thomas Nelson's Children's division through NetGalley. Any and all opinions expressed in the above review are entirely my own.

This is a lot of fun. A cow want s to run and wander like a hours and says neigh. The horse likes the duck and says quack. It’s all a lot of fun. The story builds on itself with the barnyard animals. The illustrations match. This is an excellent book for any story time collection.
