A lady saw this book and went to her church,
She told her friends about it, she was about to burst!
"If I were a reader, I'd want to have this."
So, put a copy in our library and read to the
...kids!
Thanks, Rory Feek, for this great book! Thanks, also to Tommy Nelson Publishers and NetGalley for allowing this advanced look into a picture book in exchange for an honest review.
Look at these pictures! Awesome animals! Illustrations by Bruno Robert are not to be missed!
Lyrical text will also catch the attention of children and adults alike!
The Cow Said Neigh is a beautiful book. I loved the whole package - the story, the rhyming, the illustrations. This will quickly become a child’s favorite,
Kids love things that are silly, and they also love making animal sounds, so this book hits to sweet spots.
The story is about animals that wish they were other animals, because, well, their life looks more interesting, and fun, than their present life. Thus, we have all sorts of farm animals saying things they shouldn't be. The horse quacks, the dog meows, and the duck baas.

As another reviewer pointed out, the ending is a bit lame, and doesn't wrap up the story, but most kids won't care. They will probably be laughing at the silly animals that don't know what they should be saying.

Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.
I received a PDF from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. The illustrations are cute and fun. The rhyming text is close to perfect and will have readers guessing what animal sound is next. I only gave this book 4 stars because I was hoping for a meaning behind all the animals wishing they were something other than what God created them to be; I expected the ending would wrap with the message it's best to be who you are and be happy with the gifts you've been given. Without a deeper meaning, this is more like a fun, read along poem than a picture book.
Really cute book! Unique way to learn animal sounds! It was a lot of fun. I kind of wish there was a wrap up that involved being happy with your own place in life since they were looking at the other animals and thinking their grass is greener essentially. But still a cute book, with adorable pictures!
What a gorgeous book!
The illustrations are stunning and the narrative takes the form a traditional flow from one animal to another.
It’ll provide the perfect start for children understanding onomatopoeia; a sure fire favourite for all.
