This is a fun romantic comedy in Tawna Fenske's lovable quirky style! A meet cute in a stuck elevator and an unusual pet ( a packrat! I didn't even know that was a real animal!) give the characters something to bond over and a reason to hasten their attraction into a full blown love affair. Smart and funny, despite their chemistry consent is important and given. It's sexy but not over the top descriptive.

Apparently there are some animated features visible if you read this on the right device but neither my kindle paperwhite nor my android phone kindle app were able to take advantage of these extras. I recommend it therefore by the story alone if you are looking for something lighthearted and fun to read.

Enjoyable, light story. Fenske has a way of writing stories that are fun and romantic, sexy and humorous. Characters were relatable and enjoyable to read. My only negative comment is that in other Fenske books, there is more depth and length of story line and I would have liked to "see" and know more about these characters. My Kindle is not enabled to see the graphics that accompanied this book, so I can't comment on those.

"I'm kissing the hot girl from the elevator. Or she's kissing me..." Oh yes, this novella hits all the feels! Noah & Lexi get to know each other in a broken elevator and things just keep getting better! (Who would think a broken elevator would be a good thing??)

This is a 5 start novella for me. The animation is a fun addition! This is the first time I've read an ebook with this feature!

The stuck elevator meet cute. A skittish girl, a shy guy, and an overfriendly pet rat get in an elevator....

This book has "aw, shucks" written all over it. It's a little too cutesy for me and is full of corny dialogue.
Short & sweet.

Going Up was another great read by Tawna Fenske. I bought the kindle in motion book and this was my first read with it. I absolutely loved it. I really enjoyed the animations and the actors in the book. Noah finds himself stuck in an elevator with a stranger, Lexi. I absolutely loved their story and found myself rooting for them as a couple. I can't wait to read more by Tawna Fenske.

Noah and Lexi get stuck in an elevator with a pet rat. And then Noah must find lexi to return the rat. Which he does. It’s all very formulaic and not what I had expected, not what I wanted and not what I enjoy.
Others may well find this a good read but it’s not for me

I normally don't like novellas bec I find them too short and therefore, too abrupt. But the blurb for this book was so adorable. And the novella was just that --- adorable. I really enjoyed it! It's fun and funny with such sweethearts for MC's. It's just what I was looking for in between long, heavy reads.

This is a cute stuck-in-an-elevator romance that features a kind hearted stone mason and a somewhat neurotic bar owner/mixologist and, of all things, a pet bushy-tailed wood rat that plays matchmaker in this rom-com extraordinaire. The very best thing I like about reading romance is that you never know when a chance encounter with a stranger might turn into a lifelong connection that might never have happened if destiny didn’t play its’ part. And in this case destiny gets a really big push from a mischievous little busy-body of a bushy-tailed wood rat named Bartholomew. A sweet little romance that will make you grin from ear to ear. I read a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.

Every once in a while I just want to read a short, cute story. And this was simply that. Drama is fairly low. Story is sweet and fast paced. It was simply a quick enjoyable read.

As an aside, I read this without the interactive components. I couldn’t access Kindle in Motion on my Kindle or my Kindle Fire. So I guess I will have to charge my iPad and see if I can see it there? If I feel like chasing down to see whether or not the Kindle In Motion added anything to the story ... or may be I will just let this one be as it is. A cute story that may or may not be enhanced by the presence of gifs.

Oh my, what a fun romcom!! The perfect read for a lazy afternoon. Lexi and Noah find themselves stuck in an elevator, along with Lexi's pet packrat, Bartholomew. There is an instant connection between the two, and now Bartholomew will help play matchmaker.

Loved these characters, they had me laughing out loud. Ok. so maybe Bartholomew was my favorite. Loved the kindle in motion features, added so much to the story. I highly recommend this short read!

I received a copy of this book through Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

I DNF'd this book not very far into the book. Usually I try to push through a book, but this one just bugged me. I couldn't get into the story even though it looks to be on the shorter side so I should have been able to breeze through it and I couldn't connect with the characters.

I also didn't have access to the Kindle in Motion aspect of this book so I'm not sure how that would have affected my reading experience if I had that.

A cute, clever, sweet and fun read! I devoured this book in one sitting. Noah and Lexi had an instant chemistry and even the rats seemed adorable to me. I look forward to reading more fun and flirty reads from Tawna Fenske.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

So I did not have access to the motion features, so I am not sure how that affected my reading.

This was a short and cute story. The plot and relationship moved too quickly for my liking, but with a story this short it was as expected.

My issue with this story was that Noah was literally perfect, while Lexi still had to grow a bit. So it felt unbalanced and off a bit. My favorite part was how self aware Noah was of how his presence could intimidate Lexi. Everything is consensual and Lexi deals with overcoming some anxiety about talking to a random man in an elevator. This was a refreshing change from a lot of meet cutes where people just assume the guy is a good guy because he was attractive.

This novella is a short, quick, fun and sweet read. It's exactly what you need if you're looking for something light and cute.

Noah and Lexi get stuck in an elevator together for a little over an hour. They get to know each other through fun introductory games, and start to like each other. However, when the elevator gets fixed, they leave each other without any form of contact. Little do you know, fate has plans for them! They meet again miraculously and sparks fly once again. A little misunderstandings here and mistakes there, but it's funny to see how it all works out.

I really liked Noah- he's this big burly guy, but he's so passionate about what he does, and he's genuinely a good guy. The bratwurst part made me laugh hahaha I can't believe that happened. And Lexi herself is trying to deal with something that happened in her past, and she eventually lets Noah into her life- because let's admit it, he's so sweet.

Overall, I recommend this book if you want something cute! They only complaint I have is that I wished it was longer! But it's a novella, so you should know that going in (:

Thank you Montlake Romance for this wonderful ARC!

4.5-Stars for this novella length read. I wasn't able to use the Kindle in Motion feature with my device but that did not take away from this enjoyable read from Tawna Fenske. What more could you want from a read thats fun, quick, funny, romantic......well, you get the point. Plus, when the first two words of the book are "Going down" you know it will be one wild yet hilarious read. The banter between Noah, who's equal parts hot and sexy as he is romantic and artistic plus it has to be a winner when a star constellation and a packrat bring togther this stone mason & bartender. Definitely Recommend One-Clicking this fantastically fun read Going Up by Tawna Fenske!

3.5 stars--GOING UP by Tawna Fenske is a stand alone, contemporary adult, romantic comedy story line focusing on stonemason Noah Donovan, and mixologist Lexi Allison. GOING UP is a part of the Kindle in Motion series of books that can be read on any device, including Kindle E-readers. Kindle in Motion books include art, animation, or video features that can be viewed on certain Fire tablets and the free Kindle app for iOS and Android. You can switch features on or off at any time.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Noah and Lexi) GOING UP follows the building relationship between quirky and odd mixologist Lexi Allison, and stonemason Noah Donovan. Trapped in an elevator with a gorgeous man, Lexi Allison would meet her future in the guise of stonemason Noah Donovan. Pet sitting her best friend’s ‘packrat’ who will inadvertently take refuge in Noah’s lunch bag, Allison must come to grips with her own numerous quirks and emotional instabilities in an effort to remain calm in the face of potential disaster. A stuck elevator, a couple of lies, a series of misunderstandings, a purse thief, a bratwurst, and a pet rat that goes missing, not once but twice, add to the oddball misadventures for our story line couple. The premise is entertaining; the romance is sweet and passionate but mostly implied; the characters are colorful, charismatic and engaging. GOING UP is a sweet and delightful quick read.

As to the Kindle in Motion option, I was unable to access therefore I am not prepared to comment either way but if you want to see for yourself, venture to GOING UP at Amazon, and watch from the side.
