This is a fantastic Children's Book that introduces children (and their parents) to Indigenous stories.

I love that these books are available in multiple Indigenous languages alongside English translations.

It is exceedingly important that we do everything we can to preserve these languages and this is a fantastic way to achieve this goal.

I rate this book as 5 OUT OF 5 STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is a sweet children’s book on welcoming little ones into Our lives and homes. Beautiful illustrations. #ownvoices

This book is absolutely breathtaking! My children are currently 16 and 12, but I still feel the way shown in the book about them. They are miracles. We dreamed and wished for them. I love how this book is dual language, and although I cannot speak Cree, it looks so lovely. This is another "baby shower" or baby gift book that will be given to friends and loved ones. I think it will even make a good library or classroom addition, because of how much love is shown in it, and our students need that so desperately.

A sweet little story to welcome a baby home. It would be a very sweet gift for a new family. I also love that this book and others are being published with bilingual text.

Popular storyteller Richard Van Camp and award-winning illustrator Julie Flett team up a second time in this lovely, lyrical book on the wonder parents feel with a new baby. Beautiful illustrations and poetic text make this a highly recommended read.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC. Opinions are mine.

I loved the beginning of this book about singing for this child, but the ending had me questioning exactly what it meant. The illustrations were wonderful and the message good, just a bit confusing.

What a beautiful welcome to a child, and in two languages no less!
The words are like music. Thoughtfully illustrated.
I have a new book to buy for all of my friends who are expecting...

We Sang You Home/Ka Kiweh Nikamostamatinan is a lyrical picture book, written in both English and Plains Cree.

Each page reveals simple illustrations of loving families celebrating their young child. The text is succinct, which will keep the attention of the youngest listeners, and families can make the decision to read it in English, Plains Cree, or in both languages. The text and illustrations together demonstrate how much children are treasured, and while the words are few, they're poignant: "As we gave you roots / you gave us wings" and "our everyday miracle" are glimpses of the simple beauty within.

I was provided a free digital advanced readers copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A beautifully illustrated and told tale of triumph against adversity. One that I shan't forget soon.

A sweet book for new parents to read to their new child. Written in both English and Plains Cree, this tells the child how much they are loved, and important.

Beautiful pictures. Beautiful sentiments.

Good that dual language picture books are being published, so this can be available to children of Cree parents as well.
