This book maybe hits a little too close to home in a post-Covid world. An interesting premise that takes a turn. There are some gaps and some of the back and forth seems fiercer, but overall a solid read.

Honestly, I was (positively!) surprised by this novel, given that I was not impressed by the previous The Progeny series (but the fact that the Elizabeth Bathory story is close to my heart might influence ma here :)). This is raw, fast, realistic story (both given the cultish arc and the still ongoing COVID-19 pandemic). I especially loved how the authoress was not shy to point out very controversial issues within the Christian (or the "Christian"?) environment.
I loved how the main character was built - frightened ex-member of the cult is confronted with the real incoming doomsday! What a potential - and Ms Lee delivered a believable heroine here!
Wynter, accompanieb by a bylky ex-military Chase, needs to bring some samples of the devastating new illness to the experts, but can she, when she is portrayed as a murderer in the media?

This is obviously a first one of the series, and I am quite curious of how the story will be played!

I give this book 4 stars out of 5 for the catchy factor and the real issues portrayed, The romance is too romancey in my eyes, but I can not have everything, right?

I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I actually did. It had an apocalyptic aspect to it that is so eery in light of our current Covid situation. This was fast-moving and wrought with suspense. Alternating time periods served to create intrigue and reveal the plot little by little.

Tosca Lee is always a master at spinning a story, and The Line Between is no exception! Wynter’s story kept me on the edge of my seat, and I believe I read this in two sittings - I couldn’t put it down!

The action in this book is non-stop. For the reader it seems as if you are in a runaway car hurtling faster and faster and the brakes do not work.

I found this story so engrossing that I read the entire 384 pages in a single twenty-four hour period.

Doomsday cults, a terrifying new contagion that is spreading so rapidly it seems that the entire nation will fall ill, a mysterious and enigmatic "Prophet", Preppers, CDC involvement,. murder, mystery, and more are all contained within this coming-of-age tale that is the first in a new series.

Releasing in January of 2019, THE LINE BETWEEN is destined to become a BEST-SELLING book. If you only choose one book to read in January, it should be this one.

Prior to reading the ARC (Advance Review Copy) of THE LINE BETWEEN, I had no experience reading books written by Tosca Lee. Now, I have all of her previous works added to my 'To Read' list.

I loved this book! My first for this author and definitely won't be the last.

I love the way she describes the scenes - I felt like I was watching a movie rather than reading a book.
She really makes you think outside of the box in this book. The "what about?" and "could that be?" in this story kept me turning page after page until I reached the end. It was a one-day read for me because I didn't want to put the book down until I saw what happened!

I loved Wynter as a narrator and main protagonist. She was smart, savvy and still vulnerable. There were moments where I thought how does she know that, being as she lived most of her life in a cult, but the story was so fast moving by that point, that it didn't derail anything. I have read a few stories dealing with cults over the last couple of years, and this one was interesting and well written. I liked that there weren't people getting killed if they didn't follow the rules, they were actually kicked out. The pandemic story was quite interesting. I found that it was believable and quite scary. I do not want to give the story away, so I will just say that this was a well-written story using flashbacks to develop a great background to the situation. I can definitely see this one becoming a movie, perhaps after the situation we are in now is over.

Lee takes readers on a disturbing journey with 22-year-old Wynter, who has spent most of her life in a cult with her sister and is fearful after her banishment into the world, where the predictions of the charismatic cult leader seem to be coming true. Wynter’s conflicting emotions work against her knowledge of what she must do to save her surviving family, and the edge-of-your seat revelations shock readers just as they do Wynter. Compelling and unsettling, this story maintains a thread of hope, reminding readers that God is present even when it doesn’t seem so.

I have loved Tosca Lee from the first time I picked up Havah when I was in the 10th grade. An excellent and well-versed writer, Tosca kept me engaged from page one, and I've read all of her books since. It's so obvious through her words that she truly loves what she does, and she pours her heart and soul into every paragraph. While her books are all wonderful, I can honestly say The Line Between is one of my absolute favorites.

I started the book at perhaps 7:00PM, and I did not put it down once until I finished it at around 3:00AM; it's been a LONG time since I've come across a book that'll keep me engaged and awake to finish in one sitting. What I love most about the book is the main character, Wynter. She isn't a "perfect" heroine. Wynter has her personal tribulations which she has to overcome, and the book is a picture of her endurance and commitment to the task at hand. She is beautifully flawed, and I absolutely adore that about her. Wynter encourages all readers that you can overcome your personal struggles to meet your fullest potential. She exemplifies what it means to be independent, yet she also has such an inspiring heart for others. I absolutely loved her character. As an aspiring novelist myself, I found myself inspired by her and her journey and thus ended up developing a somewhat similar character of my own.

I read a lot of novels; usually, I'm able to figure out what's going to happen before they occur, but I COULDN'T do it with The Line Between. I thought I'd find some clue, then Tosca would prove I'd gone in the complete wrong direction. Furthermore, I thoroughly enjoyed the medical aspects of the book. I've never read anything like it, and it was evident Tosca didn't just make any of it up. She did her research, as she wanted no loose ends.

I loved this book. I loved it so much, I've been telling all my friends and family members they need to purchase it, which is something I do so infrequently. Dive into this one, and you won't regret it. Hope you've packed your cold weather gear and some hot chocolate, because you're going to need it. A key to saving the world is in a breakfast food so many of us love so much. What could be better than that?

I love the story, and I think you will, too. Save the bacon, save the world. :)

If you have read any of Tosca's earlier books, you will know to expect unexpected twists and turns. Combine that with a level of suspense strong enough to engage the reader and you begin to get an idea of what it is like to read The Line Between. An intriguing storyline, action, suspense and a writer committed to a strong and solid story.

This is not my usual reading genre, but boil boy this book sucked me in from the very first page! Tosca Lee thread together a remarkable story... an intense pre-apocalyptic story laced with a generous amount of thrills and romance... this is such a well written book that I think will appeal to a wide audience of readers!

Wynter grew up in the compound of the New Earth doomsday post apocalyptic cult... as she grew up she began to question things including the teachings of the leader of the cult Magnus... this leads to her eventually being cast out, only to find that the outside world is going a bit mad.... there is an epidemic sweeping the US the spreading of early onset dementia, and there appears to be no cure in sight.... when Wynter’s sister shows up at her door with a case filled with vials of a potential cure... Wynter soon finds herself on the road to Colorado with the possible fate of the world in her hands.....

Wynter was so smart and so strong and yet she had such a naïveté to her... she is one of those characters that will get under your skin and who you won’t soon forget, there was just something so beautiful and comforting about her inner strength... for some reason I never doubted that this girl who grew up extremely sheltered could manage to make it from Chicago to Colorado in dire circumstances.... admittedly though it was very fortunate that she ran across X military XMMA fighter Chase along the way... Chase was another strong smart character who definitely reassured me... The strength and charisma of these characters really set the tone for the story and I think that’s what I really was drawn to... I felt as though the thread running throughout the story was that of hope rather than doom... this book was uplifting rather than depressing, and that’s not something I often find in books of this genre... add in a plot that will keep you riveted and a sprinkling of romance... and you’ve got yourself one stellar story!

This kept me on the edge of seat!!! I was quickly caught up in the action that was taking place. I actually lived in Colorado and Tosca's descriptions were perfect! When an author can make you feel like you are right there experiencing everything right along with the characters..... that is truly a talented author! I have loved everything else Tosca has written this is another masterpiece

The Line Between takes through the life of a young woman, who was raised in a cult like upbringing. Now on a mission to help save the lives of so many.

Wynter was brought to the New Earth as a child, now a cast out, she has began to realize that what was taught to them wasn't all true. That Magnus, their leader fed them lies. However, there is a disease that is spreading like wildfire, one that brings on a rapid onset of dementia. A possible cure lands in Wynters lap and now she has to get it to the right people. The journey there isn't going to be easy with all the chaos that surrounding her.

The concept behind this was completely fascinating, Magnus the leader of New Earth is one those types of characters that you just want to hate but are intrigued by. His followers fall on every word that comes out of his mouth, they believe that his word is gospel and Magnus will save them from the hells of Earth and get them into Heaven. Now with the dementia ridden disease spreading, they believe his word even more.

Wynters was a wonderful main character, she was believable and one that I could definitely root for. I enjoyed that this alternates between the past and the present giving insight into her life as a child growing up at New Earth and her life now as an adult. Her rebellious nature got her in a lot of trouble at New Earth, but certainly helped her when she was cast out of the enclave.

There was no shortage of suspense and lots of questions along the way. I would definitely recommend this one to my friends.

Tosca Lee is now on my authors to watch list. a new favourite of mine. the writer knows how to write and keep your interest. i felt myself sucked in and really becoming invested in wynters fate.
the story line was fantastic and the outcome was brilliantly written. the main character was one of strength and hope.

This story is starts with some sick pigs, then jumps to a mother and her two daughters fleeing from an abusive man into the arms of a Cult. Wynter struggles with being faithful to the Cult and when she garners the attention of their leader, things take a bad turn. Brought up to believe the world was going to end soon, it seems to be true after she is thrown out of the Cult and a mysterious illness is causing people to develop early dementia, go crazy and die.

The author does a great job bringing us into Wynter's world, her confusion, and pain, and then watch her grow into a strong woman determined to not only save the world from apocalypse but her niece as well, with the help of good people along the way.

While I'm not usually a big fan of epidemic or cult stories I really enjoyed this and read it straight through. A lot of great characters, along with the expected sorts of bad guys. I'm really glad this author asked me if I'd review their story, I never would have picked this to read for myself, I'm glad I was given the opportunity.

The Line Between has such an interesting story line. It crosses a cult-based plot with an ancient contagion that threatens to wipe out the country. I haven’t read a book like that before!

The main character, Wynter, could not be more perfect. She’s smart, funny, and courageous. At 22 years old, Wynter was old enough to make adult decisions. Her upbringing tempered her strong spirit, yet she’s such a vulnerable soul. I absolutely adored her.

The Line Between speaks to the goodness that is in humanity. Despite the selfishness of those who seek to fulfill their own needs and wants, there are so many good characters in this book. It’s scary to consider how close this situation comes to the realm of possibility. I definitely won’t look at a slice of bacon the same for a while!

There’s a quiet faith element in The Line Between, but it’s so understated that you could read the whole book without really noticing it. Instead of blatant evangelism, the undercurrent brews in Wynter’s subconscious. She has to explore her own beliefs. She must work through what she knows from what she feels. The characters do a few things that are not typically found in Christian fiction, so it’s not an entirely “clean” read for those who are sensitive to things like alcohol or very mild profanity. It didn’t bother me at all, and I wouldn’t hesitate to let my teenage daughter read this.

My only sadness comes from having this book in electronic form. I need a print copy so I can share it with, oh, every single person I know!

Not my usual genre but I could not put this book down!!! From page one I was literally on the edge of my set reading this post apocalpytic, dystopian psychological thriller!!! So good--super fast-paced, well-written with a fabulous plot and wonderful characters. Easy to read because I was halfway done before I realized it. Do not miss this book!! I usually really enjoy dystopian fiction but I couldn't get into this one. It felt like a chore to read. Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.
