Great book with nice pacing of the story. Totally enjoyed this book, Enjoyed Maya's character. It was nice reading a PNR where the female knew how to handle herself.
Immortal danger was a different take on hunting supernatural creatures. The heroine is a vampire herself and hunts the bad guys. She is a take no prisoners and tolerate individual and I can connect with that since I like to avoid people as much as possible. Another win from Cynthia.
Immortal Danger by Cynthia Eden should come with a huge warning label…”Prepare to have your mind and heart completely blown away!” All thanks to Maya, the human turned vampire heroine featured in this intense paranormal romance. This tough as nails, doesn’t back down/run from a fight, always ready to face off and smack down with the the baddest of the bad guys made my day and scored a top spot on my very selective list of totally amazing warrior women. Honestly, I can’t remember the last time I’ve come across such a strong, confident, always tries to do the right thing no matter the cost to her, fearless leading lady. Wow! Just...W-O-W!!! The vamps may have sucked her unwillingly into their world, but they're the ones going to die regretting it!
Alpha protective Adam had a HUGE big surprise all of his own. It was a perfect element to add to the mix, folks. Sorry but I can’t say more. I absolutely do not want to give away a single detail of what goes down here. Just know I’m beating myself up right now for not having already read this entire series.
Despite not being my normal genre, this author has made a believer out of me. Vampires and shifters, I’ve got your number, and I’m coming for you...starting with the next book of The Night Watch series.
Title: Immortal Danger, Series: NIght Watch (book .5), Author: Cynthia Eden, Pages: 281, stand-alone but part of a series, human turned vampire warrior heroine, surprise twist about the good guy hero, some very graphic steamy/smexy scenes with lusty language, gruesome vampire violence.
Book .5 - Immortal Danger
Book 1 - Eternal Hunter
Book 2 - I’ll Be Slaying You
Book 3 - Eternal Flame
Book 4 - Never Cry Wolf

I love CE's writing, specialy her serial killers series, I haven't inmersed myself too much in her paranormal books, but this one, I loved.
She made me think like I was there, experiencing everything. Will definitely read the next book.
This author has an uncanny knack for producing paranormal romance stories that grip her readers. I wasn’t sure initially how I’d feel about a kick ass, vampire heroine but Maya actually won me over. I guess I tend to prefer strong male leads and luckily the author had ideas that made Adam both protective , fierce and a worthy hero.
Overall the story was good, but I struggled to really connect with Maya. She was so cold. However, its a interesting plot and I do think this series might be worth a continued read!
Cynthia Eden created a whole community for this story line. She's famous for being able to pull the reader in and keep them reading. Maya Black, a former policewoman, is now a vampire who hunts the bad guys...no matter what they may be. Adam Brody has a problem. His niece has been kidnapped, not for ransom. If he can't save her quickly, the vampires who have her will use her as a sacrifice. Adam needs Maya's help. Along the way to saving his niece, Adam and Maya develop a relationship. Will it last past his niece's rescue? I certainly hope so. Their story is full of action. The book was a surprisingly quick read. That's the hallmark of a great story.

This book was packed with adventure, romance and at the perfect moments... comedy. I really liked Maya because she was so smart, strong and brave. Maya was ready for every battle and if things didn't go as planned she was awesome at faking it until she made it! I really liked Adam, he was willing to do anything to help his niece. I also liked that he was not intimidated by Maya's strength...he embraced who she was and didn't try to change her.
Overall this book was really great!
3.5 Stars
When his niece is kidnapped by a vicious group of vampires Adam Brody seeks out Maya Black’s help to find her. Even though Maya is a vampire herself she has a fierce reputation of taking out the bad guys, vamps, demons, whatever kind of creature.
Maya was a police officer when she was forcibly turned into a vampire, and she hates her kind because most of them are murdering fiends with no conscious. She thinks Adam’s mission will probably get him killed, thinking he’s just a human, and she doesn’t want to be part of that. However, Adam’s willing to pay and he’d probably go off on his own anyhow so Maya’s stuck.
Adam and Maya are very distrustful of each other as they join forces, but there’s a spark of attraction brewing between them from the beginning. Adam can’t stand vampires, but he can tell Maya is different, and despite her prickly demeanor she truly cares about people. Adam he can’t help but admire her strength and skills taking on baddies twice her size and kicking ass! Maya assumes Adam is a helpless human and he lets her think that, but Adam is much more. I won’t spoil things by telling you what he is, but I thought it was pretty cool!
In between all the action and danger Adam and Maya battle with their desires. At first, it’s animal attraction, irresistible and desperate, but they start to fall for each other a little more with each passing day. Cynthia Eden writes some truly hot stuff and whether it be her romantic suspense or paranormal stories, she has her romances dialed to sizzle! Adam and Maya were no exception!
Immortal Danger was fast paced, full of action and a lot of fun. It looks like this story was originally published back in 2009, as the start of the Night Watch series, but may have been updated. Maya and Adam’s story wraps up, but the series continues centering on other characters. I plan on getting to the next book soon.

Night Watch #0.5, This is a prequel and it is a full length novel. I have read one other PNR by Cynthia Eden and as much as I love her Romantic Suspense I wasn't crazy over it, this one however was really good. A re-release originally published in '09 this urban fantasy/PNR centers around former cop Maya Black and tall, dark, and mysterious Adam Brody. Third person POV switches between the two. Maya was a beat cop who knew all about vampires she killed them when she could even when she was attacked herself she managed to kill the vampire but all it took was one time and a little bit of vampire blood in her mouth and she was one of them. Only difference now is that she is a vampire who kills her own kind, she keeps them in line. Adam Brody needs Maya's help, his niece has been kidnapped taken to be given to the master vampire upon his return. Maya and Adam rush about LA trying to find clues as to where his niece might be held along the way they deal with demons, voodoo priestess, vampires, and shifters. Their search takes them to Las Vegas where things get a wee bit more complicated.
I really did enjoy this one it was exciting and action packed and the characters are fantastic. I definitely want more. Maya is one tough cookie and even though she claims she's not a hero she is constantly doing things that contradicts that. Adam is a little harder to get bead on, he all dark and mysterious and aside from the insane sexual chemistry between them it's hard to get a feel for Adam because he's so closed off and you have to wait for about half the book to figure out what he is, after that it's was easier to see Maya and Adam connecting on a deeper level. Overall, this was a great book and a nice start and introduction into the world of the Night Watch series.
I love a book where the main protagonists may be laid out as stereotypical characters but are revealed to be nothing like they are depicted. This is just such a book. Maya is a vampire who was turned against her will and now hunts her own kind. She has a trusty sidekick or two and some weak alliances with other paranormal creatures. But most have learned to keep a very large distance between themselves and Maya!
Brody is very different from most heroes in that whilst he is very kickass himself, his leading lady is the real badass! Brody is willing to do some less than reputable things to save his niece, including duping Maya. I loved his caring for his niece so unselfishly. He may not be the usual book boyfriend perfection but I love a hero who is not "perfect". Gimme flaws people!
Great read and only stopped from becoming a 5 star by the fact that I wanted more!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ out of 5
I knew from chapter 1 that I was going to love this book and I only kept loving it more with every page. There’s a kick-ass vampire heroine who’s not as cold blooded as she wants everyone to think she is and a mysterious hero who matches her darkness perfectly.
.
Maya was a cop until she got turned into a vampire one night five years earlier. Since then she has earned a reputation for tracking down and killing not only her own kind but demons and other evil as well. She is approached by a mysterious man who needs her help finding and rescuing his niece from one of the big bads of the vampire world. Maya and Adam are completely drawn to each other and it is hot as 🔥🔥🔥🔥 (seriously someone pass me a fan).
.
I love seeing how different authors tackle vampire culture and it was seamless in this book. I loved the world building, the characters, the holy moly chemistry! This book was something I didn’t even know I’d been missing out on and I NEED the rest of this series ASAP.
Immortal Danger by Cynthia Eden is book is book 0.5 in the Night Watch series. This is the story of Maya Black and Adam Brody.
Maya was a young cop trying to save the streets but one episode changed her into a Vampire now she works to take down a different type of evil and looking out for herself. Adam isn't what he seems but he needs Maya's help in finding his niece, Cammie. Adam has been watching Maya and thinks she is the help he will need. Maya thinking he isn't like her does work to help him but he proves to be something more and their growing feelings does help trying to keep up her strong attitude.
This does have a new cover since its first release around 2009. Also this is a full length book so don't let the 0.5 position full you into thinking is a prequel novella....is not.
Really enjoyed this exciting book!!
I really enjoyed Cynthia Eden's book. It was full of paranormal elements and some action. Solid writing .I really liked Maya.
Haven't really read a good Vamp book for awhile now. This one was really good. I liked it. I really liked Maya she was such a strong female lead. Adam was sexy as hell and all alpha in the right way. The heat between them set my kindle on fire. Ouch! in a good way. They sorched up the sheets! I liked the plot and the story kept you reading to see what was going to happen. There was a slight twist on the end and the secondary charcter has his own book. I am going to check it out.
Good sexy action packed read! received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
This book was a fast paced romance perfect for late nights and a glass of wine. This author wrote another masterpiece that everyone should be excited to read.
IMMORTAL DANGER By Cynthia Eden
Maya Black was a tough LAPD cop who one night was turned into a vampire during a fight with another. Adam Brody who has his own secrets, hires Maya after watching her for awhile to retrieve his 9 year old niece Cammie, who was kidnapped by other vampires. When he has hated vampires in the past, he finds himself drawn to Maya. I thought this book dragged along at the very start but after the players were in action it really took off in a very enjoyable way. (Especially if you like paranormal romance.) Maya and Adam have a lot of chemistry. There were a lot of twists and turns in this story that I really liked. I will be reading more books by Cynthia Eden. I received an ARC from Netgalley for my honest review.
Maya Black is not thrilled with being a vampire, but she’ll make the most of it by hunting demons, werewolves and other assorted nocturnal scum in order to keep the city safe. He hopes that Maya is as dangerous as they say she is because Adam Brody needs her help and he’s willing to pay in blood.
This dangerously thrilling and adventurous read keeps readers glued to the pages and hanging on to the edge of their seats with lots of exciting action and intriguing suspense. The fast paced and smooth flowing plot never has a dull moment as Maya and Adam pursue the really bad vampires that kidnapped Adam’s niece and they come across werewolves that out for blood and chameleons determined to guard the vampires’ lair.
This exciting read has it all, explosive battles, an adventurous journey, mean and bad demons, red hot passion, sizzling chemistry and two very strong and charismatic characters that really charm and delight readers with their story. The relationship between Maya and Adam is quite volatile with lots of attitude and electrical sparks that fly from the pages as they try to work out their differences, despite the secrets and tangled emotions that they each have.
A well developed and fascinating world with a variety of bold supernatural characters that has lots of attitude that readers can practically feel leaping from the pages, especially since the author painted such vivid images that readers can easily imagine each and every scene as they become caught up story that has an overall enthusiastic feel that readers can appreciate.
This is a re-release. The paperback was out of print as of July 2018, but the ebook was available. This is a prequel, so if you haven’t read any of the books in the Night Watch series it’s fine. I liked that it’s a full length novel and not novella as most prequels tend to be. Maya is strong, and remains strong throughout the book. I really liked that she didn’t need saving but back up. Adam was a good lead as well, he wasn’t brooding he was focused. I don’t get what the point was in waiting so long to reveal what he was, and I guessed it early on because his secret was handled the same way it is in most urban fantasy novels. The story had a good pace, and the action and romance was well balanced. I will probably read the rest of the series.
Maya had been attacked by a vampire and within a minute he had his fangs in her neck and she wa on the ground she did manage to get her gum and shot ho with bullets that had been in holy water and the vampire did die. But Maya came back a monster as far as she was concerned she was now a vampire but she had been a cop so now she went around killing her own kind who hurt innocent humans. She also took down demons, shifters and whatever got in her way. Five years later Adam kept j=his eyes on his prey, he had been watching her for days. He watched as she prowled the streets at night, as she fed, as she fought, Even as she killed. There had been whispers about Maya for years. Tales of the vampire who hunted her own kind. There was a price on her head but for five years no one had collected the bounty on her head. The cops had learned long ago to hide the supernatural activities from the larger society. The vamps could hide in plain sight. Adam followed Maya Adam followed Maya into a feeding room, When he found Maya he was extremely attracted to her but he didn’t want to sleep with her he wanted to use her. Then Adam grabbed Maya’s arm and told her he needed her help. Maya was mad as she told Armand someone attacked her day watcher Sean. Then a huge guy just beyond the stage said it was him and Adam felt this was a level ten demon - a very old one - an ancient. The baddest of his kind.the level ten demons were monsters who slaughtered women and children for fun. Bathed in blood, had unbelievable strength, and sometimes lived forever as long as the demon didn’t lose his head. They feared no one. Yet Maya managed to behead the demon with his own hand. Adam wants to hire Maya to help him find his niece who is nine years old and named Cammie. To track the kidnappers. Cammie has been taken by one of the Born- a vampire so powerful he’s almost impossible to kill. Maya is intrigued as well as attracted to Adam. She isn't sure what he is though but not human as he has no scent. Maya has been betrayed by someone she used to trust- an ex lover- as well as someone else and the local werewolf pack is after her.
I really enjoyed this paranormal novel. I loved Maya and Adam together and how they interacted and I loved it wasn’t an instant/ lust/love romance. I really liked the plot and the fast pace. This book had: vampires, demons, werewolves, action, danger, intrigue, suspense, kidnapping of a nine year old child, betrayal, a cop turned to vampire who kills vampires and other paranormals, a lot of fighting and so much more. I loved how Maya never thought of herself as a hero actually the opposite. I loved I loved how Maya helped others who weren’t able to help themselves. I really liked the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend.
