A gorgeous story filled with passion and love, secrets and sorrows... this was a wonderful adventure in the Old West and the reality of the troubles women had with running a company back then. I enjoyed learning about the Mill and the way the main characters interact with each other. Heavily researched and perfectly written....
What a great historical read. The characters are unique and fun. The story is intriguing and hard to put down. For being the 3rd book in a series, it stands alone well. I give the author 2 thumbs up and I give Victoria and Wall 2 thumbs up each as well!!
This a really good historical romance, In the time period Victoria was not the usual woman. Wallace having strong sister himself knew when to help and when to step aside this is an author I would enjoy reading again. The supporting characters were as rich and developed as the main ones.
This is my first book by Dawn Luedecke. I was hesitant to read it, because it is the third book in the series and I hate to be lost. I was very happy to learn that this story could totally stand alone. It also ignited my desire to read the first two books, as I enjoyed this one greatly.
I don't recall reading any other book that takes place in this time period and at a lumber mill, so it was quite interesting to learn a bit about logging. I thought both Wall and Victoria were great characters. It was fun watching Victoria change from a business ice princess to a warm, loving woman. Don't fear, though.....she remained a strong female character throughout the book. Wall had a collection of lively sisters, so he learned to be respectful and let a woman take the lead when necessary. But when Victoria needed him to take the lead? Damn, it became hot and steamy! The supporting characters were also a great lot, especially Wall's sisters.
I'll definitely be looking forward to more books from Ms. Luedecke.
I received an ARC of this book courtesy of NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.
This is a realistic historical western with a well developed storyline. Most of the story revolves around logging and family politics. Wall and Victoria want to be together but, She runs her family's logging buisness for her father and Wall's father wants him to come home to run their family ranch. Will they be able to find a compromise that will work for everyone or are they destined to be apart?
