A light and sexy addition to this series - Max will definitely be catnip for readers who love their grumpy, taciturn heroes. Letty is a lovely, complicated person who felt very real. I loved the sisterhood in this book (both familial and found-familial). And Max's abuela is a delight.
I was given an Advance Reader's Copy in exchange for an honest review.
Night and Day is a very lovely romance between two people who have their own insecurities. With Letty it was her body image and not specifically her own issues but the issues her mother had had with her body and instilled in Letty. With Max it was his father's abusive nature that left him weary of his own temper and his level of success not being good enough since he pursued art unlike his father's business inclinations. I enjoyed their relationship but I wished they had a bit more of a base to them. I wished that Letty's arc was more about her facing her mother's abusive and shutting it down rather than learning to love her body through Max's approval. I liked Max's coming together with his grandmother and father and his siblings. That scene in which they all intervened on him throwing himself a pity party was excellent.
