WWII fact, fiction, politics & conspiracies - this book has it all. A believable story told between 2 time zones, 1940/41 & present day
A fairly enjoyable book but nothing special. None of the story stuck out to me and I doubt I will remember much of what happened by the end of the month.
Not sure what happened to my original, review which I thought I had posted here but it seems to have disappeared. This is a shame as the story was enjoyable and engaged this reader at least. The setting is popular in current fiction as interest in the Second World War in general, and incidents involving spies from one of the many intelligence agencies in particular, is possibly at an all-time high. The story is sufficiently pacy to keep the reader's interest, with both personal adventures and the wider setting well-captured. The need to introduce a conspiracy twist was, perhaps, unnecessary and did not add to my enjoyment. Nonetheless, this is a good read and recommended strongly.
