Definitely deserves 10 Stars in my opinion. It has to be one of my favorites from this author's Dragon Knight's & Fenian Warriors series! This story was very in-depth and fulfilling for me.

Rory is a strong Fenian Warrior who is in Fae Prison for helping the Dragon Knights. Because of his time there, he is sinking deeper and deeper into the shadows. He is reliving over and over again, in his dreams, the worst moment of his life. It is taking its toll on him. Conn MacRoich realizes he won't last much longer. So he needs to send him back in time to where his friend's journey began on that specific Quest....when Erina MacIntyre was accused of witchcraft and burned at the stake.

Erina is a young beautiful woman who knows the healing arts and such. She lives alone, even though her brother is Laird of the nearby castle. An event occurs that will commence to change her life. This is a precarious time of uncertainty and misjudgements.

This story will tug at your heart little by little. You will witness Rory and Erina's journey while feeling as though you are ever present.

Rory MacGregor, a Fenian warrior relives a single memory which tortures him night and day being captured and watching his love, Erina MacIntyre being declared a witch is tied to a stake and being burned. Rory can’t escape the horrible memory that it cripples his mind causing him so much guilt leading him deeper into the Realm of Sorrows which Rory would be lost forever and walk the land as a shadow. Prince Conn Rory’s friend and fellow Fenian warrior can’t let that happen. When Rory is granted a chance to take care of unfinished business he is placed back in 1605 as he was before but with a purpose. Rory’s goal is to now save Erina but in doing so he could lose everything not only her but his life as well including being a Fenian warrior. Will Rory risk all for his love for Erina or will history repeat itself again?
Even with how busy I am I couldn’t wait to read this second book in the Legends of the Fenian Warriors by Ms. Mary Morgan. Sure the book can stand alone amazingly well and you don’t even need to read the first book or the books of the Order of the Dragon Knights where we first meet all the Fenian warriors including the long suffering protagonist hero Rory. Ms. Morgan tells an interesting tale and really knew how to place me in the Fae world and back into 1605 Scotland. The characters are even well developed and the cover is beautifully done too. Rory the angsty brooding melancholy hero made me wish I could give him a big hug even though he would probably kill me for trying to make him feel better. Where Rory was darkness Erina was the light in the story. Even though her past isn’t fully explained and there is an innocence to her that is quite charming that does cause problems still she made me smile. How both Rory and Erina get to stay together is a little confusing but still it all ends happily. I enjoyed reading the story and look forward to the next book in the series!

Fenian Warrior Rory MacGregor sits in a cell awaiting his trial in front of the Fae Council plagued not by what his future may hold but by his past. His torturous soul won’t let him grieve for the death of the only woman he’s ever loved, mortal Erina. He couldn’t save her and allows the shadows to take him over. When his secret is revealed, Rory is commanded by the Prince of the Fae to return to the mortal realm and rectify the timeline. But when he sees his beloved, the timeline shifts. Is this Rory’s second chance at love and saving Erina from death or is history bound to repeat itself?

My heart broke so many times while reading Oath of a Warrior. First for Rory and his gut-wrenching pain. Imagine witnessing the death of your beloved and even though you’re a magical being, you were powerless to stop it. You’d want the world to come crashing down and left alone to wallow in your grief. Now imagine you’re given a second chance.

This book oozes history and mystical elements with a plot that moves at a quick pace. I couldn’t stop reading this lush story and there was a time or two where I wondered if there could be Fae amongst us. The characters, though, are what makes this a must read. Everyone from Erina to Rory to Garett to Conn and the rest of the Fae leap off the page. Each has their own backstory, feelings and voice. The romantic arc between Erina and Rory makes all the heartbreak worthwhile.

If you’re a fan of Outlander, you need to read Oath of a Warrior. It’s a paranormal romance worth reading, even if you’re not a fantasy reader. Just take my advice and keep a box of tissues handy.

Favorite Character/Quote: Erina. With her connection to the Earth and her healing abilities, she wove a spell around me. She’s feisty and a little stubborn when it comes to her independence but her heart and willingness to help others makes her a beautiful heroine, both inside and out.

My Rating: 5+ stars

Rory MacGregor, Fenian Warrior, swears an oath to rewrite fate, even if it brings about his own death to save the female who once captured his heart. Determined to aid others, Erina MacIntyre refuses to acknowledge the whispers that label her witch. Can they find love once again or will history repeat itself leaving a path of destruction for both mortals and Fae alike.

The second book in the Legends of the Fenian Warriors series is moving romantic tale of a love that refuses to die. Rory and Erina are two very strong characters that easily draw readers in, capture their hearts and hold them hostage throughout their story. Rory and Erina’s romance is sweet and one readers recognize as meant to be right from the start but it is also full of danger and some seriously obstacles that has readers biting their nails and holding their breath.

Oath of a Warrior is a fast paced tale with a plot full of intrigue and excitement as Rory tries to rewrite history and keep his one true love alive, no matter the cost. The story has the feel of an adventurous quest and an epic romance and is full of thrilling suspense that keeps readers on the edge of their seat with anticipation as this story pulls readers into the realm of the Fae and through time with magic with fate and rules standing in the way of this couple’s heart.

Once again, Mary Morgan has created another vibrant and fantasy fueled world to brilliant life with her creative writing skills that transports the reader right into her world. I loved her Order of the Dragon Knights series and although I missed Quest of a Warrior (which I will be fixing asap) I am definitely in love with the Fenian warriors as well and I am looking forward to visiting this fabulous world again.

The Fae Brotherhood have traveled the earth for thousands of years and Rory MacGregor guards the realm between mortal and Fae. Rory is a member of an elite Fae warrior Brotherhood who broke several rules to help another clan of warriors Order of the Dragon Knights in another series by Mary Morgan. Rory has secretly longed for one mortal female who captured his heart. He’s sent back to relive a defining incident in his life, to 1600s Scotland and told not to interfere, but timeline has already been altered and changed. Rory can’t simply watch the same injustice befall the one woman he has ever loved Erina MacIntyre. She’s known for her healing herbs and love charms, but mostly everyone claims she’s a witch. A captivating story with a bit of magic in this spellbinding Scottish Fantasy romance as sacrifices and secrets are revealed. This is my honest opinions after I voluntarily read a copy of this book that was provided to me with no requirements for a review.

Oath of a Warrior by Mary Morgan is #2 in her amazing Scottish Historical Fantasy Romance, "Legends of the Fenian Warriors". I feel it can be read as a stand alone.
Well crafted with great world building. The characters are engaging and charming,  they will capture your heart. The storyline is unpredictable, intriguing and captivating.  I loved Conn MacRoich, a Fenian warrior, who has traveled the earth for thousands of years. He guards the realm between mortal and Fae. One mistake forces him on a journey to fix a broken time-line. Erina MacIntyre is a mortal known for her healing herbs, she is also called a "witch" by many, and who may just bring this legendary warrior to his knees.
Ms. Morgan manages to weave a bit of magic,  secrets, sacrifices,  history, fate,  tortured heroes, and time-travel into a mesmerizing Scottish Fantasy romance. A page turner from the first chapter to the last and lingers long into the night.  Highly recommended for fans of historical Scottish Romance, fantasy,  magic, fate, wonderful characters and a strong storyline.  I look forward to book 3 in this amazing series.
"I voluntarily received a complimentary copy, however,  these are my honest opinions. I was in no way required nor compensated to write a review."

This was a great, well-written book. Erina works with herbs to help heal others and creates love charms. Rory is a Fenian Warrior who has never forgotten Erina. He returns to her time, and Erina is confused to find something familiar about him. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading others by this author.

Fenian Warrior, Rory MacGregor and Erina's love and future depends on fate and an altered timeline. The reader is immersed in another time and in the realm of the Fae as these two find love again. Settle in for another good read in this second book of the series .

Ebook from Netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.
