240 Pages
Publisher: Llewellyn Worldwide Ltd, Llewellyn Publications
Release Date: November 8, 2018
Nonfiction (Adult), Religion & Spirituality, Psychic Abilities, Memoirs
Michael chronicles his life as a psychic. He talks about his childhood and growing up around psychics. His mother and sister were prolific psychics. He learned about the gold and silver beings he saw were guardian angels. He suggests that when we hear a voice in our mind that we should listen. He discusses his experience working with and removing ghosts.
The book has an easy-to-read style. It was as if I was sitting with him listening to him talk and tell his story. He shares a story of a road trip from Minnesota to Daytona Beach in a 35-foot new rental Winnebago with his family. If you like memoirs and psychics, this would be a great read.
I didn't know much about Michael Bodine when I first checked out this book but was quite intrigued once finished. When I first started out, I wasn't sure how I felt about his personality but he grew on me and loved learning about his experiences. This is a easy and fast paced read! I would rate it at 3 1/2 or 4 stars so if you ever across the opportunity, I think it's definitely worth a read if these type of books catch your eye.😀
This was a quick read. I appreciated the fact that this was not a “guess who my clients are” type of book.
This was both autobiographical and informative.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Michael Bodine is a psychic. All of his life he has seen ghosts/spirits that he believes can help guide us through our lives. Written simply and put into short chapters. Not a long book, not a great one either. Bodine comes across as a bit preachy. Mentions that some psychics are phones and only in business for the money. (Really?). The books basic points are how hard it is to be a psychic like Bodine and that all things happen for a reason. ⭐️Star out of 5.
A highly entertaining and engrossing book about Michae's life as a psychic. Lots of funny stuff, but I what I really enjoyed was the real and down to earth tone of this book. It made for a relatable ride into the author's life. I really enjoyed this book. I voluntarily read this book via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.
An interesting read with insightful stories. Takes a bit to warm up to his writing style and personality. Fast read and enjoyable for anyone interested in the psychic world.
I loved Michael D. Bodine's honest writing style. Sometimes he shocked me with what he shared but that was refreshing compared to the dull, cookie-cutter style that's overtaking many memoirs. I enjoyed reading about his unique life growing up in a family of psychics. I found his disdain for his psychic ability/giving psychic readings to be utterly fascinating. I enjoyed Michael's accounts of some of his closest, most significant friendships. There was a particularly beautiful and moving story of his friendship with one of my favorite actors. Micheal respected his privacy, but I was happy to say I figured out who it was. I wanted this book to go on longer -- I wanted to read more stories about the challenges Michael faces and his spiritual evolution. I've read a ton of memoirs written by psychics and "A Psychic's Life" is one of the most unique and compelling books I've had the pleasure of reading.
A quick, interesting read regarding the author's career as a psychic and his interactions with his clients, some well known and some everyday people. Bodine also brings in tidbits from his difficult childhood and reminds us that it was a long journey for him from being a skeptic to a believer in the paranormal--despite growing up in a home with a mother and siblings who possessed psychic abilities of their own. He also relates some stories about his personal paranormal experiences, including an encounter with his own past life as a pirate.
Full Disclosure--Net Gallery and the publisher provided me with a digital ARC of this book. This is my honest review.
This book was an ok read. I was hoping for more stories about his readings for various clients. There was quite a bit about his family and his growing up. The few examples of interactions with clients was interesting. At the back of the book, he gave you take-aways from each chapter. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the ARC of this book in return for my honest review.
