This was such a fun anthology. I love shifters and these stories were all cute and fun. It was a good diversion and read.
BEARING HIS TOUCH by Eve Langlais
This was a cute yet heart-wrenching story of acceptance and resilience between a protective shifter and his broken mate. Becka was a great heroine; despite all of the horror she has gone through, she never gave up trying to escape, yearning for freedom. Stavros wasn't looking for his mate, but when he stumbles upon Becka hiding behind a dumpster, he can't help but keep her safe. I loved his caring and protective side, but his easy humor really had me swooning. This was a fast-paced shifter romance with a dash of steam. 4 stars
FAKE MATED TO THE WOLF by Milly Taiden
DNF at chapter 3. This story took too long to grab reader's attention, especially since it's a novella. At chapter 3, I still don't really know what's happening other than the heroine just got fired. Even though the hero and heroine have apparently met before, there is no connection between them, and by now I honestly don't care enough to continue reading. As a Latina, I didn't connect with the heroine as a Latina, especially when her name is Shawna Goode (which is decidedly NOT Latina). Also I was getting chauvinistic and sexist vibes from multiple characters, not just the jerk boss. Overall, not for me 1 star
A fun collection of 3 short stories by authors I've read before. Especially liked the first one, but the others were good too. The second one started out with such angst against her immediate boss, but then he gets fired and is gone. Wished there would have been a confrontation. The last one was good too, and liked the quest to find the evil spells. Would recommend. Especially would be a good summer read of easy pick up and put down.
This book sure packed a punch with three delicious sexy shifter stories! I loved how aloha the three heroes were with their respective mates and how they did not let anything stand in their way! The heroines were also smart and sassy and the perfect comment to their mates. They gave as good as they got and I for one was here for it!!
4 stars!
Great authors and fantastic collection. Paranormal romance is my go to genre and this collection had all my favourite PNR authors. Great read!
This book was so entertaining. I was drawn into the story from the beginning and was involved until the end. The characters were complex and interesting. I found the story to be well paced and engrossing throughout the whole book. I was invested in the couple throughout the book and felt all the emotions through both the highs and lows of the story. The side characters were such an integral part of this story as well. This is the love story i needed to read at this time. If you want an entertaining and well written book this is it for you
Three intriguing and wonderfully written paranormal romances. I've never been disappointed by a Langlais or Taiden story. And Baxter wrote a wonderful story as well.
This was a fun anthology to read. I always enjoy these authors, I know it is going to be a well written story to lose myself in.
If you are looking for an escape from everyday life, grab this and kick back!
An interesting collection of short stories! Perfect for anybody looking for new authors, or for chasing favorites (as is the case for me - though I did find a couple of new ones here as well).
This was a great set. I have loved Eve Langlais and Milly Taiden for a while now, but Kate Baxter was is a newer author to me. Each book was a fun sexy time. Each romance was wonderfully different and I enjoyed the characters, plots, and their story.
Anyone who enjoys paranormal romances or romances in general will enjoy this set.
IN THE MOOD FUR LOVE - Eve Langlais
#2 in the Fur shapeshifter romance series
Bearing His Touch - Eve Langlais - 2.5 stars - This story was just OK for me. Becka has been held captive for an unknown reason, and she finally gets away when another group comes to kidnap her from the kidnappers! In her escape, she meets up with Stavros, who turns out to be a bear shifter who recognizes her as his mate. The characters are acceptable, but I didn't really feel a particular connection beween them, despite Stavros's continual joking about sex and a sexual relationship. Becka came across as much too childlike to me, so the sexual undertones seemed a little icky. This is my first bear-shifter story, so that was a plus and somethinga little different. Stavros has a strong and rambunctious family, and a man close to his family is normally a turn-on for me, but they were a little too over the top and pushy, more annoying than fun. This book just didn't click, but it was a quick read.
Fake Mated to the Wolf - Milly Taiden - 3 stars - This one was OK, but a little confusing. There seemed to be quite a bit of reference to previous books and/or other characters, so I often found myself to be out of the loop, although it didn't particularly detract from the story, just caused a distraction from time to time. I actually didn't understand the title at all; I don't think there was anything about Shawna being fake-mated to Hawke, she just set up the program, didn't participate. In this case, I liked the characters, but it felt a little disjointed. Shawna Is being brow-beaten by her boss Clark, and somehow Hawke has no idea what's going on, even though he's extremely involved in his company. All in all, Hawke seemed very clueless about this department, which I found a little unbelievable. Shawn's cluelessness about being Hawke's mate was cute, and I thought that was done quite well. And the final sex scene was hot! But I was disappointed about Robbie (who protected Shawna when he could), expecting something more from him.
The Witch, the Werewolf, and the Waitress - Kate Baxter - 3 stars - I liked this one the best of the trio. Colin is a werewolf who has finally discovered his mate. Unfortunately, Ellie is a human who has been cursed and must stay within a small town, never growing old or dying. She's been lonely and wants to be free to travel, but if they mate then Colin would have to go rogue in order to travel with her. I liked that the dilemma between them was real, and despite their insta-love, they must somehow overcome their problem. It was very interesting as they attempted to break the curse, and I enjoyed watching their budding relationship and they worked together. The characters were enjoyable, and I was definitely rooting for their success.
Shifters, romance , and good tales abound in this Anthology of 3 stories.
Ebook from netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.
In The Mood Fur Love is 3 great books by 3 fantastic authors, Eve Langlais, Milly Taiden and Kate Baxter! and I loved every single one of them, but being a long time Milly Taiden fan, that's the one I read first!
I don't know why I think the idea of Mates for Hire is so funny, but maybe it reminds me of those craigslist ad when you can hire boyfriend and girlfriend for family dinner at Thanksgiving/Christmas and they will act however you want, and I will totally admit that that image is what popped into my head before I started reading this story.
As in most Milly Taiden books, there is a curvy girl in the center of it all and in this book its Shawna, who has been hired by Hawke to play his mate, but low and behold they are mates. but Shawna doesn't realize that, and now I'm not going to tell you any more, you will just have to read the book.
The author writes in an easy way, which didn't over complicate the storyline, the only downside to the story was it didn't feel complete, so I'm going to assume that there is a second part to this story.
The other two books in this anthology are equally outstanding and I'm planning on reading more books by Eve Langlais and Kate Baxter, as this book has just whetted my appetite.

Review
In the Mood Fur Love has stories by the following authors Eve Langlais, Milly Taiden, and Kate Baxter. They are MF and paranormal in nature. I liked that cohesiveness. I like a rhyme and reason to anthologies. These all fit very well.
Bearing His Touch by Eve Langlais is my favorite of all the stories. They are all great stories and I kept the review of each short as to not give too much away by reviewing each story.
Bekka and Stavros are in Bearing his touch. They have a chemistry that is heartfelt and really jumps off the page. They do not have any serious obstacles but I loved the true love I could feel from their story.
Fake Mated to the Wolf by Milly Taiden, this story had something missing. I did not feel this was a complete story more like an episode in the lives of the characters.
The Witch the Were Wolf and the Waitress by Kate Baxter has Ellie cursed by a witch, Colin is the were wolf who has to help save her and the entire town. I love the humor in this story.
Over all In the Mood Fur Love is a great read. I loved each story in its own way. I also love how each author is able to blend with the next. Though totally different stories they all fit together beautifully.

But what happens when your fake mate ends up being your real one, from New York Times bestselling author Milly Taiden! The Witch, The Werewolf and The Waitress by Kate Baxter follows and witch and a wolf. For centuries, Lowman, Idaho has been Ellie Curtis's prison. Often one story sticks out as better or less of my taste than the others in collections like this, but this felt pretty even. In Bearing His Touch I really enjoyed the characters and how the world and character building was paced through the story so that I never felt inundated or missing something important. I like that it had a good blend of danger, humor, and sweetness. I really liked Becka and her blend of vulnerability and strength, and how smart and determined Stavros is. A good story all around, and I will be looking for more from the author.
Fake Mated to the Wolf was also an entertaining read. I thought the depth of Shawna's love for her family and the trouble she found herself in could have used a little more building, but I understood the space constraints and how hard it is to get everything in a short story. I liked the determination of all the players, and how everything was resolved. There were some unanswered questions for me, some oddities that happened in the story that could have been part of the larger plot but just rather became brushed away, but I still enjoyed the read. Unfortunately the dating app or website thing has been done before. I have read some great series that use this, and have for quite awhile, so while a small part of the story here, and well done, this just did not feel fresh to me.
The Witch, The Werewolf and The Waitress is another fun and flirty story. I liked the balance of Colin and Ellie trying to solve their separate issues, while trying to figure out the mate situation. I liked Ellie's personality and her combination of sweet and strong. I thought Colin was a little weaker of a character, but still very well fleshed out. The combination of werewolf and witch's curse was cool, and I like how everyone seemed to handle the revelation of additional paranormal issues. I think I might have read something from this author before, or something similar. There were moments that seemed familiar in writing style and world building, but not in a bad way. Rather like I might have read something in a related series and I was reminded of those characters.
In the Mood Fur Love is a thoroughly enjoyable read with a touch of sweet, a touch of heat, and a whole lot of fur. I think this is a great collection to meet three authors I do not remember having read before, but hope to read again.
In the Mood Fur Love is a paranormal romance anthology containing 3 sexy novellas that feature shifter heroes. Apart from Eve Langlais, I hadn’t read anything by the other 2 authors – Milly Taiden and Kate Baxter – so I was looking forward to getting a taster of their writing. Unfortunately, although I do love a shifter paranormal romance, none of these novellas really made much of an impression on me.
Bearing His Touch by Eve Langlais – 3 Stars
After being held captive Becka finally manages to escape and ends up getting help from a kind eyed, and extremely hot stranger. Stavros knows he will help the scared and bruised up woman, not only because it is the right thing to do, and his family would kill him if he abandoned her, but because the little human is his mate.
The first book in the anthology is Bearing his Touch by Eve Langlais and was my favourite of the novellas. Although it glosses over the trauma of being held captive and beaten for over month, it still somehow manages to be fun. I enjoyed that Langlais gave Stavros such a great sense of humour and the romance between him and Becka was cute.
Fake Mated to a Wolf by Milly Taiden – 2 Stars
This is my first book my Milly Taiden, although I do see her dating agency series pop up in my recommendations occasionally. After reading Fake Mated to a Wolf though I am not sure I would pick up this series. It didn’t connect with me at all, I found the story a bit boring and romance lacklustre.
The Witch, The Werewolf and The Waitress by Kate Baxter – 2 Stars
This was another author I hadn’t read before and was looking forward to trying but found disappointing. Maybe it is the nature of the novella, it is after all meant to be short, but this surface level skim of a romance just didn’t pull me in. It wasn’t that I disliked a particular thing about the characters or the story, I just found that it didn’t draw me in. At all.
With anthologies, especially if they are populated by authors you haven’t read, you always take a risk. Sometimes its pays off and you find a new author or series to get in to, sometimes it doesn’t. Unfortunately, in this case the risk didn’t pay off.

In the Mood Fur Love is an anthology of shifter romance novellas written by Eve Langlais, Milly Taiden, and Kate Baxter. I definitely enjoyed some stories more than others, but overall I did enjoy reading the collection.
First up is Bearing his Touch by Eve Langlais, a romance involving a bear shifter. Becka has been kept captive and tortured by her kidnapper for a month now. When she finally manages to escape, she runs into Stavros who immediately recognizes her as his mate and determines to do everything in his power to help protect her.
This one was my second favorite out of the three. There was a lot of action, Stavros was sweet, and his family was hilarious. I really appreciated that Stavros took his time with Becka in this book. He wants nothing more than to sweep her up into his arms and love up on her, but she’s not super big on physical contact at the moment because, you know, tortured for a month. And he totally gets it and doesn’t push it and lets her set the pace. Becka was a little annoying to me. She’s determined not to be a burden to Stavros and his family and put them in danger, which is understandable. But after she finds out that they’re literally all bears, she still feels this way? Like, she does not think an entire sleuth of bears is a match for this guy and his goons who have kept her captive. Honey. They are literal bears. I think they’re going to be fine. I enjoyed this one for the most part.
Second, we have Fake Mated to the Wolfby Milly Taiden. Mates Fur Hire is a company run by Hawke, where shifters can join a dating service in hopes of finding their mates more quickly and efficiently. One of his employees, Shawna, is unceremoniously fired without Hawke’s knowledge and the dating site starts turning into garbage. Once Hawke finds out, he goes on a mission to get Shawna back, and also get her to date him as she’s his mate.
You guys, I really hated this one. I found absolutely nothing redeemable about it. First of all, Hawke has known Shawna is his mate for a month prior to the beginning of this story. He has several opportunities to let her know she’s his mate throughout the book, and chooses not to? Instead he continues to tell Shawna about his mate, which makes her furious because she wouldn’t be dating him and making out with him if she had known he had a mate. Also, there is a scene where Shawna is super excited to go home and use her new “toy”, because she is not blind to how attractive Hawke is, no matter how much she resists the desire to be with him. So she goes home, she’s using her toy, and she starts imagining Hawke’s voice in her ear saying all kinds of sexy things to her. Except, she’s not imagining it. He broke into her apartment and is standing in the doorway of her bedroom watching her. I’m sorry, breaking and entering is not sexy. Neither is invading someone’s privacy in such a way. Aside from Hawke being the literal worst, there’s a side plot where Shawna’s family is being held hostage somewhere and she needs to keep working so she can pay them not to hurt her family, and I feel like I should have cared more about this plot, but I honestly just didn’t because it was so confusing and shrouded in mystery for so much of the story.
Last, we have my favorite of the three stories, The Witch, The Werewolf, and the Waitress by Kate Baxter. Ellie has been stuck in Lowman, Idaho for the past 200 years since a jealous witch cursed her to immortality stuck in this town. Colin, a werewolf who lives in the next big town over knows Ellie is his mate as soon as he sets eyes on her at the diner she works in and becomes determined to free her of this curse.
This one was so good! Right off the bat Ellie and Colin have amazing chemistry. The first time they get together, Colin puts Ellie on top so that she’s in control and tells her he knows they’re moving really fast and they can stop whenever she wants. Spoiler alert, she doesn’t want to. #consentissexy #breakingandenteringisnot. While I loved this story, it didn’t come without flaws. There is a lot of drama in the tail end of the story that really could have been avoided if there had been a little bit of communication. Also, without spoiling anything, the ending of the book really rubbed me the wrong way. However, I loved Ellie’s free spirit and the banter between her and Colin. I loved that Colin was independent and wanted his own things aside from the pack. It was all just done really well.
As a whole, I give the collection 4 out of 5 controllers. Even though I couldn’t stand the second novella, I enjoyed the other two enough that I don’t regret reading the collection, and I would recommend it for anyone who is a fan of shifter romances.
Three sensual stories about shifters who find their mates in unexpected places. This is book 2 in the Fur series. Short and easy to read these stories by Eve Langlais, Bearing his touch, Milly Taiden, Fake mated to the wolf and Kate Baxter, The Witch, the werewolf and the waitress. Paranormal fans will enjoy and if you're new to the genre it's a great beginning. It was easy to read an entire story in one sitting which was nice. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.
All 3 stories in this one are pretty solid. Nice balance of plot and sexy times. I'm really enjoying the story arc by Milly Taiden about the Mates for Fire business.

Not my normal choice for books, but I have to say I enjoyed the stories by Eve Langlais and Milly Taiden.
