This is book #3 in this anthology group/series. all 3 novellas work well alone but are part of the same world as the authors' stories in the prior 2 anthology with Milly's being the one with best read in order. As with the other 2 books, Milly's story was again the weakest one for me -- liked the concept, execution just didn't work for me. I found the heroine to be both foolish and a bit oblivious, also the fact that her 2 best friends were mated to his 2 best friends made the idea that it took so long for him to find her again after their 1st meeting (in the prior story) along with some of the other events to be a bit too much of a stretch. Both of the other stories and good solid characters and story. Eve's story also had a nice added twist (and Stavros' family was fun, I kinda wish there was more time spent with them on the page but understand novella limitations).

The first book (Bearing His Touch by Eve Langlais)was alright, it didn’t really stand out to me. Their romance was too quick and pretty superficial for my tastes. And the plot climax was too quickly wrapped up. This one just seemed a bit half-assed in the storyline department.

The second book (Fake Mated to the Wolf by Milly Taiden)had terrible transitions, I could barely follow the dialogue. It was choppy and changed direction mid thought. And the time changes were too abrupt. One minute I was in the present with one character, the next I was somewhere else with no foreshadowing or hint as to why. I can’t believe I finished that one to be honest, I think because it was a short story I just finished it real quick.

The third book (The Witch, The Werewolf and The Waitress by Kate Baxter) was the best which goes to show that the best is usually saved for last. OMG this one had depth of character, great and intricate background on both MC’s and some serious chemistry. Add to the fact it was a short story and to bring it all together with less words that a full length novel was really impressive. I wouldn’t have minded reading more about this couple.

The series continues!

Well at least for Eve Langlais. Been waiting for Stavros' story. Although I think I need to reread the previous books, no need really as this can stand on it's own. Stavros finds his mate huddled near a dumpster. Becka has been kept prisoner by this crazy guy. And of course, Stavros rescues her, loses her and finally gets her. Classic EL story. Love it.

The series continues too for Milly Taiden. Hmm, not sure if I need a little break from her. It's a classic MT story, big, clueless male finds his mate. I guess I was hoping they'd spend more time figuring out how to save Shawna's mom and siblings since they were in grave danger, and during that time learn about each other. Still, a nice quick read (it seems to be the shortest story).

Hmm, I don't remember if Kate Baxter's story is part of series too....sorry. Hahaha. But I like this one. Though both of them got on my nerves at some point, both being too stubborn to talk to each other. Comes with age I guess. It was a nice journey, quest for both of them, solving Ellie's curse. Would be nice if the witch put up more of a fight than just being a cougar, and talked to them, just to cement her evilness and spitefulness.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this copy!!

Flora Reviews...
In The Mood Fur Love by Eve Langlais, Milly Taiden and Kate Baxter
So what’s this book about?
This book is a collection of three original paranormal romance novellas from international bestselling authors Eve Langlais, Milly Taiden and Kate Baxter featuring various species of shapeshifters including werewolves and bear shifters. I am already a big fan of Kate Baxter’s Last True Vampire series but am beginning to enjoy Milly Taiden’s stories although I have yet to purchase a title from either Eve Langlais or Milly Taiden.
I think that In The Mood Fur Love can be read as a continuation to the authors’ previous collaborations Thanks Fur Last Night and The Big Alpha in Town or be read as a standalone.

Novella 1 Bearing His Touch by Eve Langlais
So, what did I think about this story?
Eve Langlais is still a fairly new-to-me author (I haven’t purchased any of her full length novels); I don’t think that she writes my kind of stories.

The first few chapters are fraught and full of tension and action that I found quite gripping. Our hero, Stavros is an ex-cop bear shifter; the bear and man share the same mind and I enjoyed the humorous inner dialogue going on between the two and I liked the protect women and children mindset that he had. Our heroine, Becka, was not physically strong but I liked that she was resilient and survived suffering physical and mental abuse as a kidnap victim. What I struggled with was that although this is a fictional paranormal romance story, I had to reign in my reluctance to believe that an abused woman would begin to allow or want physical contact so quickly. Having said that, I understand that the story has to progress and we do not have infinite pages in a novella.

Once again, I feel that the prose in this story really lets it down. I was far from impressed with Ms Langlais sentence structure and word choices (there were also a few missing capital letters too) in this novella, however, as I've yet to actually purchase a book written by her, I can't compare an ARC to a finished, published work.

I enjoyed this story; there's just one sex scene but it is very good and titillating, I liked that the conclusion was a twist/shock and although slightly twee I thought it a nice way to end a paranormal romance with the trademark HEA.
My Goodreads Rating For This Novella: 2 Stars (It was OK)

Novella 2 – Fake Mated To The Wolf by Milly Taiden
So, what did I think about this story?
Although I have yet to buy a book written by Milly Taiden, her stories are growing on me. I really liked the concept for this story, I found it very easy to read and the plot had me growling in indignation, chuckling and put a lump in my throat.

The story itself is engaging; a classic paranormal romance with a HEA ending. Ms Taiden has written a couple of plotlines that run alongside the romance aspect - Shawna’s family and the weird mystery nuisance caller – which I enjoyed getting my teeth stuck into as the romance between Hawke and Shawna evolved.

Our heroine, Shawna is certainly a lady with gumption and anyone who has read my reviews before, will know that this is a personality trait that I admire and crave in my leading ladies.

Got to be honest, there were a few little things that I struggled with; firstly, our hero's name - Hawke Hawke (really?!) - it took the shine off wee bit, I've got to confess that the sex talk and descriptions for that final sex scene were a bit disappointing - it all turned me off rather than got me hot – we didn’t really get to the bottom of the mystery calls and I thought that the end felt a bit rushed. As I was reading a pre-proofed arc, I tried to ignore the editing needs and assumed that they would be fixed before publication so won’t detail them here.
Having said all that, I understand that writing a standalone novella is challenging; creating a full, engaging story within so few pages and getting the balance right between building/describing the scenes and moving the plot along and I do think Ms Taiden did a good job here.
My Goodreads Rating For This Novella: 3 Stars (It was Good)

Novella 3 - The Witch, The Werewolf and The Waitress and I by Kate Baxter
So, what did I think about this story?
I am already a fan of Ms Baxter’s books; I find her writing style very easy to read, her plots engaging and her characters intelligently written and full of depth. I was delighted to find the same level of care and attention in this novella.

I enjoyed how we were introduced to our leading hero and heroine, both are keeping secrets from those around them but exhibit personality traits that I love my leading characters to have. Throughout this novella Ms Baxter managed to catch me out, just when I think our hero will be a Neanderthal alpha (yuk) Colin says or does something to melt my heart and wish he was my boyfriend plus, I loved "can't lie to a mate without pain" addition to the traditional werewolf lore that Ms Baxter created here.
Ellie may not be strong physically but I loved her resilience; I suppose if you've already got first-hand experience of the supernatural world, meeting someone who claims to be a paranormal being is easier to believe, so I could appreciate Ellie’s rapid acceptance of Colin being a werewolf. Plus, knowing of Ellie's lonely life to-date, I completely understood her desperation to grab the sexual opportunity when it presents itself, so in this case the insta-lust which I usually find so off-putting was acceptable.

As a self contained standalone story with the added restriction of being a novella rather than a full size novel, I understand that aspects had to be concluded with no loose ends in reduced pages but I am satisfied with how Ms Baxter concluded this novella; the mystery and the romance aspects.

In short, I really enjoyed this story and I was gripped from beginning to end; I laughed, I cried, I held my breath in anxiety and I felt the flutters of arousal.
My Goodreads Rating For This Novella: 4 Stars (I really enjoyed it)

So, basically what I’m saying is...
My Overall Goodreads Rating: 3 Stars
I think that this paranormal romance anthology is GOOD, I enjoyed reading it. Of the three novellas there is only one that was just OK. I felt that this book was a good opportunity to read a new story from a favourite author, having said that, I think I would have felt a bit short-changed if I had actually purchased this for myself (n.b. the current Kindle selling price of £7.59 seems rather expensive to me, I feel £5.99 would be a fairer price).

Due to the graphic violence and sexual content in these novellas – they are definitely steamy and not blood-shy - I’d recommend this book to adults who are not offended by content of this nature who are either existing fans of Eve Langlais, Milly Taiden or Kate Baxter and enjoy relationship and romance stories with oodles of action and passion.

Um...Okay, so after looking at other reviews for this book I see that I am in the minority on my opinion of this book, but alas I stand by my low rating.

So the first story Bearing His Touch was one of the more okay ones.

Becka has been kidnapped and has been abused for weeks. When she finally escapes she runs right into Stavros, a private investigator, ex-cop, and bear shifter. When Becka asks for help Stavros can’t say no, so taking her home he does the best he can do to protect her. This story had waaay too many bear puns. I wasn’t digging those at all. I wasn’t really digging this story for the most part, but it was fine. Becka tries to run away from Stavros because the people tracking her are evil, but since she’s Stavros’ mate he won’t let her go. Overall, it was meh.

Fake Mated to the Wolf was also just okay. Hawke discovered his mate months ago at a party and discovered she works for him and hasn’t figured out how to approach her. Shawna is down on her luck trying to save her family when she gets let go from her job and is now working three to try and pull the money together. When Hawke discovers what happened he steps in and does everything in his power to save her.

Honestly, my biggest complaint with this story was how freaking clueless Shawna was. To just about everything. I couldn’t get past that at all it was so boring.

The final book was The Witch, the Werewolf, and the Waitress. This book bored me right to tears. Honestly, right to tears. I can’t remember much of the story, but it was boring. Main character Ellie has been stuck in podunk nowhere for centuries due to a witch’s curse. Colin- a werewolf- stumbles upon Ellie and realizes she’s his fated mat. When he finds out about the curse he tries to help her, even though knowing the potential risk of losing Ellie just when he found her.

Definitely the heaviest of the three, but it dragged in a way the others didn’t and it wasn’t due to emotional weight.

Rating: 1.5-2 stars

This is the second trilogy I have read by these three authors and, I have to say that, yet again, I loved every one of them! They are all about shifters, finding their mates and, the trials and tribulations of attempting to find their happily ever afters!
They're all action packed, fun, Steamy and fascinating reads!

Not much to say about this collection really. Story one is so so, story two makes no sense, and story three is dragging on.

IN THE MOOD FUR LOVE features three different shifter stories from three different talented authors. Each author contributed a novella set in a world from their ongoing series and this makes me want to go and glom on the series' other books to learn more about the intriguing glimpses being presented in this book.

Out of the stories included in this anthology, there's one I really like a lot, so I'm going to check out that author's other books. This book certainly gives readers a taste of each of the author's writing style and if it would be a good fit for the reader. So, if you've never read any of these authors, this book is certainly worth a try.

Anthologies are a great way to sample the work of authors who are unfamiliar. These authors are all new to me. These all have heroes meeting their destined mates but are quite different in other plot points although all do have nicely spicy scenes. I liked the variety of these stories. All of the characters were interesting and as well-developed as characters can be given the novella length format. My favorite story was by Langlais because I liked the humor. I liked Shawna from Milly Taiden's story because she has some body issues that she is dealing with.

Bearing His Touch by Eve Langlais - Bekah has been kidnapped by someone who wants her for her rare blood type. She escapes and finds herself rescued by Stavros who happens to be a bear shifter. She's worried that she will bring trouble to him. He says "Bring it on" since Bekah is obviously his mate. Convincing her to let him help and let him love her isn't easy.

Fake Mated to the Wolf by Milly Taiden -- Shawna is a computer programmer who is responsible for the matchmaking software used by her company. However, she is working for a chauvinistic, sexual harassing boss who fires her for no good reason. She needs the money to help her mother and stepbrothers pay off debts incurred to a gang. When Hawke, who owns the company and who is Shawna's mate, finds out about this, he rushes to the rescue. But doesn't mention that she's his mate which adds confusion to a situation that is already complicated.

The Witch, The Werewolf, and The Waitress by Kate Baxter -- Ellie has been curse with immortality and the inability to leave the confines of the small town of Lowman, Utah. Colin is a werewolf who stops for breakfast on his way to a job interview and immediately recognizes she's his mate. BEfore they can find their happily ever after, Colin has to find a way to break the curse. But once Ellie is fee to explore the world, will she want to stay with Colin? And what if breaking the curse causes Ellie to die from the accumulation of the all years that have passed?

I know that I have mentioned in another review that I don’t like reviewing anthologies. Doesn’t mean that I like reading them. I find reviewing anthologies difficult. Depending on how long the stories are in the book, my review could go on forever. So, this review is going to be short and sweet.

Bearing His Touch

While I enjoyed this book, it did rub me the wrong way in certain parts. I didn’t like that it took so long for Becka to tell Stavros why she had been kidnapped and beaten. That frustrated me. But, that was the only thing that annoyed me about the book. Everything else I loved. Stavros was such a goof. I had a laugh over the pot brownies incident. I liked how everything was wrapped up. I did like the twist with Becka’s Poppa. Didn’t see that coming.

Fake Mated to the Wolf

I enjoyed reading this story. I did have an issue with Hawke not knowing what went on in his company. Including what was happening to his mate. I kinda went “Ummmm, ok” when I read that part. But, after that was resolved, I loved the story. I wanted to know more about Robbie and I hope that he is featured in more books. He deserves his happy ending. I did think that Shawna was kind of a jerk to Hawke for 90% of the book. I mean, she knew about how they found their mate. But, she still thought Hawke was two-timing his mate with her? Hello, use your brains girlfriend. I liked the HEA that the author gave to everyone at the end of the story.

The Witch, The Werewolf, and The Waitress

This was my favorite story. Ellie and Colin were such jerks to each other when they first met. I enjoyed watching them fight over that cinnamon roll. Gave me a fit of the giggles. I did feel bad for Ellie. I couldn’t imagine being cursed how she was. Talk about being restricted and lonely. I thought the whole quest to set Ellie free of her curse was great. Including the ending. I will never look at timber wolves, cougars, elk, and coyotes the same again. Shudder. Again, loved the HEA for Colin and Ellie.

There is Instalove in this book but, and I stress this, it worked. Werewolves and werebears are able to find their mates by smelling them. So, I didn’t mind the Instalove at all. Because it fits in with the lore.

The sex in all three stories were hot. I had to fan myself after a couple of scenes because they were that good. If I had to pick the hottest couple, it would be Colin and Ellie. Talk about some steamy sex scenes.

I am not putting up a like/dislike section to this review. If I did that, it would go on forever.

I gave In the Mood Fur Love a 4-star rating. If you like shifter romances with steamy sex scenes, this is the book for you. I will give a trigger warning for Bearing His Touch and Fake Mated to the Wolf. Bearing His Touch has a pretty graphic beginning scene where Becka is being beaten. Fake Mated to the Wolf has a sexist boss and a scene where Shawna is being held hostage in her bedroom by some not so nice guys. Other than that, this book was a great read.

I gave In the Mood Fur Love an Adult rating. There is graphic sex. There is violence. There is language. I would recommend that no one under the age of 21 read this book.

I would reread In the Mood Fur Love. I would also recommend it to family and friends with a warning about possible triggers.

I would like to thank St. Martin’s Press, St. Martin’s Griffin, and NetGalley for allowing me to read and review In the Mood Fur Love.

All opinions stated in this review of In the Mood Fur Love are mine.

I really like this three stories about love and shifters. I like the writing style from all three authors.

I really loved all three of these stories. The first one with the werebears was very funny. I just love those guys!! Lots of action, romance and fun characters made this one heck of a read. I’d be hard-pressed to pick a favorite because each story was fantastic!

a fantastic set of paranormal shifter romance. Excellent writing by all three writers. Enjoyed and couldn't put the book down.

Well these 3 ladies have put out another fantastic novella book. If you have read the other 2 novella books that they put out then some of the people will be familiar to you in these stories. If you have not you can read this novella as a stand-alone but the other novellas were so good I would suggest reading those as well. Each one of these stories the main man has found his Mate and has to convince her that she is his mate and also protect her from something. All of these guys are bad-ass and will do anything to protect their mates. The woman are not helpless or wallflowers but they do need some help. All 3 stories are quick read and hot as hell!!

I received this e-book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

This book consists of 3 novellas, all dealing with shifters of course! They were "Bearing his touch". Fake mated to the wolf" and "The witch, the werewolf and the waitress".

I enjoyed all three stories while I think the last was my favorite. The author of the first story has such a quirky funny writing style and I always have laugh out loud moments with her stories.

I am always on the lookout for new paranormal romance authors featuring shifters. I decided to try the anthology In the Mood Fur Love. The novel contain three stories from Eve Langlais, Milly Taiden and Kate Baxter. Like most anthologies it was hit and miss, but overall delivered fun, sexy, standalone shifters stories.

BEARING IS TOUCH by Eve Langlais... 5 stars
Becka is kidnapped by an abusive man, a man who asked her out and she turned him down. She has tried to escape but he keeps bringing her back. When they are in a penthouse, he leaves and some figures dressed in black break in and try to take her. She gets away and runs and hides in an alley. Stavros was a cop but got fired to having weed. Now he's a private investigator and finds Becka hiding. He convinces her to go with him because he can keep her safe. He is a bear shifter after all and his bear recognizes her as its mate. Now Stavros doesn't want to be tied down but when she goes missing again, he knows he'll do anything to get her back.
Funny, sexy, and suspense. I believe this is one of my favorite stories by Eve. A traumatized woman and a bear who'll protect her with his life.

FAKE MATED BY THE WOLF by Milly Taiden..4.5 stars
Hawke knew Shawna was his mate the first time he saw her. Shawna works at Hawke's company mates for hire. When she is fired, she has to take three jobs to keep paying the people who has her mother and brothers. When Hawke finds out, he fires her boss and rehires Shawna to run the match making portion of his company. Hawke needs a date for a function he's attending and gets Shawna to go with him. Shawna returns home and the men looking for her family takes her and her friend, Robbie a homeless man, into her apartment and threatens her if she doesn't tell where her family is. Can Hawke save her before she gets hurt?
Great story. Sex and a little mystery. The only thing was Hawke's name, Hawke Hawke. At first I thought it was a typo but nope that's his name.

THE WITCH, THE WEREWOLF, AND THE WAITRESS by Kate Baxter..5 stars
Ellie works at a diner and is over three hundred years old. A witch put a curse on her that she can't leave her town and she will never die. Colin is a werewolf and has applied for sentry duty, same as law enforcement for the supernatural. He stops at a diner and meets Ellie, his true mate, but their first interaction is not very friendly. Colin goes out scouting and falls off a cliff, every bone is broken and it takes awhile to heal. Ellie comes along and finds him and takes her back to his cabin. They have sex and Colin explains what a mate is and Ellie explains about her predicament. He goes back to his pack to talk to his Alpha and they find out that a spell was put on the perimeter of the town. At the four corners should be a piece that can be destroyed and takes the curse off that side. So Colin and Ellie set out and find all three but at the forth is more difficult and Ellie doesn't know if she wants it destroyed because then she might lose the best adventure ever, with Colin.
Great story. Funny and sexy. Will keep you on the edge of your seat. This is the best story I have read by Ms. Baxter.

Bearing His Touch by Eve Langlais is the story of Becka, a desperate woman, running from a monster that has stalked, kidnapped and terrorized her and Stavros, the bear shifter that stumbles upon Becka.
Luckily for Becka, Stavros is an ex-cop turned private eye who will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.
This was a delightful short story from an author who's work I've read many times before and the other stories in this anthology serve as great introductions to authors whose work I'm definitely going to be reading more of.
A very good read.
