This is a heartwarming holiday story that I enjoyed thoroughly. Angela has lived in Pleasant Sands since her mom dies & her dad ran dropped her & her sister with their grandparents then left. She inherited the family Christmas store & is struggling to keep it open with all the competition in town & online. Geoff runs the family run chain store called Christmas Galore that has just opened it's next store in Pleasant Sands. This doesn't bode well for Angela's store that's been in her family for generations. The first time she spots Geoff in a coffee shop, she thinks he's cute (& he thinks she's attractive as well). Then she figures out who he is, & she doesn't want anything to do with him. Her sister & niece convince her to write a letter to Santa using an app that's run by Geoff's store. He has taken over the answering of the letters while his mom is in the hospital & doesn't realize Anita C Miracle (the way Angela signs her letter) is actually Angela & responds. This leads to a correspondence between them that neither on knows who the other is. Read this book to see how their story evolves. You won't regret it.

Dear Santa is a perfect example of how to write a cozy Christmas book. Though I read it in August, I felt SO READY for the Christmas season. It's fun and doesn't take itself too seriously while employing all the favorite You've Got Mail tropes. Oh, it's definitely cheesy, but isn't that why we love Hallmark Movies?

The romance is textbook "we hate each other in real life but are anonymous internet pen pals". We love that. Fabulous. The MCs from the beginning are at each other's throats. Angela runs the coastal Christmas novelty shop that caters to its small town clientele. Geoff is the blowout sale chain Christmas store that opening across town. Think Spirit Halloween stores vs your local touristy handmade good store. Angela's beloved store has been in her family for generations and is being put out of business by this new chain, but she's not willing to go down without a fight.

The best part of this book is the Christmassyness, obviously. I love Hallmark movies for never failing to deliver on Christmas activities as part of the main plot, and Dear Santa delivers! We've got hot chocolate drinking, tree decorating, cookie baking, tree lighting ceremonies, parades, winter wonderland snowball fights. This is CHRISTMASSY.

There's nothing groundbreaking here, but it's an easy holiday-themed read that will help you get in the mood to smash the establishment and buy some local craftsman Santa miniatures. The romance was sweet and ticked all the boxes, and the characters were interesting and passionate. I really liked how devoted they were to their jobs and how into it they got. This is perfect Hallmark fare in book form.

An unsolicited ARC was provided by St. Martin's Press in exchange for honest review. Thank you!

I wanted to like this book, but I couldn't get into it. I spent a week trying to make myself read it before giving up on it.

This is a sweet, heartwarming story about family, matters of the heart, tradition , new beginnings and the miracle of Christmas.
Angela Carson owns a struggling Christmas store in Pleasant Sands. When a new store moves into town, she fears her store, which has been in the family for a few generations, will be forced to close. To make matters worse, the owner of the new store, Geoff and Angela seem to be constantly at odds. It’s fun to watch these to interact. Specially when she doesn’t realize that the letters she has been sending to Santa, are being read by Geoff.
Another entertaining story by this talented author.
I was entrusted this copy by Netgalley and St Martin’s. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Dear Santa is a sweet story of a young woman running a Christmas store out of an old lighthouse. The store is struggling financially and although it's been in the family for several generations, Angela decides to close. The rival holiday store's boss takes an interest in her and in the end, all works out well. Angela finds a new job and the light house is repurposed. There's even a wedding in the works.

This would make a perfect Hallmark Christmas movie! It has a endearing heroine and a scrooge that needs to be taught the meaning of Christmas. Great Christmas romance.

Loved this sweet, funny & sometimes heart wrenching story. This story was a wonderful way to walk down the memory lane of a beautiful, smart & quirky young woman facing the challenge of her heart. I loved how strong the character of Angela was, as well as sweet & funny & loving. The character of Geoff was amusing, as well as strong, but vulnerable. They’re brought together first by the opening of one store & the closing of another but don’t realize that they actually get to know the real person by a Dear Santa letter sent to appease a little girl. I enjoyed reading this story, the author brought us on a wonderful journey with the ups & downs of Angela & Geoff. Recommend to read.

Angela Carson wants nothing more than to be the third-generation to run her family’s holiday store, Heart of Christmas, successfully. They’ve weathered over sixty tourist seasons, major hurricanes, and urban sprawl, in their old decommissioned lighthouse. But the national chain that set up shop in their small North Carolina town of Pleasant Sands may be more than Heart of Christmas can survive.

Encouraged by her niece to ask Santa for help through the Dear Santa app, Angela gives in and lets the words fly in a way that, if Santa were real, would no doubt land her on the naughty list. What’s the harm when it’s just a computer-generated response?

Geoff Paisley has been at his mother’s side running the mega-chain Christmas Galore for the last ten years. When his mother falls ill, Geoff promises to answer the Dear Santa letters in her stead. Soon he realizes the woman he’s been corresponding with on Dear Santa is Angela. How could the woman that grates his every last nerve in person have intrigued him so deeply through those letters?

When Geoff reveals that he’s her Dear Santa, will Angela be able to set aside their very public feud to embrace the magic of the holiday and possibly find true love?

This is a retelling from the movie You've Got Mail. Set at Christmas time , a romance that is also like a Hallmark movie. I loved Angela and even though I didn't care for Geoff at first I got to really like the character and his mom. When you read about this town in NC all you want to do is pack your bags and go there. Although I would move anywhere there is a beach :-).

While I don't mind spins on old favorites this one hit a little close to home without developing the characters fully. It was however a nice light read for the holidays.

If you enjoy the films You've God Mail and The Shop Around The Corner, you will love this book.

Angela has lived here in this North Carolina coastal town, Pleasant Sands, all her life. She has inherited her beloved grandmother's Christmas store, Heart of Christmas. She sells special Christmas treasures. Her store has been a part of town life for generations. Angela has taken great pride in being able to continue her family's business and carry on her grandmother's plan.

Recently things have all changed. Another store has come to town. It is similar to a mini warehouse store. But, the name contains the word Christmas. Christmas Galore sells cheap Christmas ornaments, but it also sells many other things which have nothing to do with a holiday.

Geoff and his mother are the owners of Christmas Galore. They started with one store and now they have stores all over the country. They are successful because people can come in and buy many kinds of easily affordable items. They are also successful because they are smart marketers.

Angela has no online presence for her store, and she has not faced the fact that she is competing with online shopping. But, while her store is failing she focuses on Christmas Galore as the problem and Geoff as the Devil who is responsible for the problem.

This is a sweet story. Pleasant Sands is populated by wonderful small town people. Everyone knows everyone and everyone cares for everyone else. We get to meet characters who are supportive of Angela, her family history and her store.

Angela has a sister, brother-in-law and niece. Her niece is a wonderful little girl who believes in Santa Clause. And she convinces Angela to send an email to Santa. After all, Santa can fix anything that needs fixing.

Geoff is coerced into being the person who answers the Santa emails which don't fit into a certain format. He responds to Angela in a very kind and caring manner. An email friendship is formed.

This is a holiday story which can get you into the mood to have a cup of hot chocolate and a candy cane and inhale the scent of that real Christmas tree.

Only an Ebeneezer Scrooge would dislike this story. So, enjoy the story. After all, you would not like to find coal in your stocking.

I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley. I am voluntarily writing this review and all opinions are completely my own.

A great view into small town living and dynamics. Angela and Geoff had a lot in common but a lot to resolve.. Never let a day go by without appreciating everything you have as it can be gone in a heartbeat.

This is a warm and touching Christmas story. It certainly retells "You've Got Mail", but with a Christmas theme and original elements. Angela and Geoff are believable characters, and the town of Pleasant Sands seems like a great place to visit! There is a lot of emotion and heart in the book. Highly recommended!

If you are looking for a sweet, small town Christmas romance then one click Dear Santa.

Dear Santa was a wholesome love story about two people trying so hard to hate one another. That is seriously one of my favorite storylines, it opens the story up for funny banter and then watching the love unfold. Very cute!

Oh and by the way I want Christmas now!!!

Dear Santa is “sweet and clean” - there is very minimal language and nothing scandalous happens on the page. If you enjoy a Hallmark movie, you'll enjoy this book.

Ms. Naigle's Christmasy take on The Shop Around The Corner/You've Got Mail is absolutely adorable and is exactly the kind of Christmas romance that I love to read to get me into the holiday spirit. Although the general ideas of this book and the movies are the same, Ms. Naigle has take the idea and made it her own. I thought the way that things happened and the way that relationship developed between Angela and Geoff was creative and sweet. They truly built up a friendship before they made the leap into falling in love. I also loved the Christmas spirit in the town of Pleasant Sands. I kind of wish I lived there because it sounds like a really great place to spend time.

Although I wasn't sure at first, I really loved the little letters that lead into each chapter. Some were so adorable that I highlighted them. What a great touch!

The only two things I didn't care for in this book were her sister Marie – I honestly don't know why Angela even talked to her, to be totally honest. She got less terrible as the book went on, but by then I just didn't like her so it was a lost cause on my end. And. ***SPOILERS TO END OF PARAGRAPH*** I was disappointed that Geoff's father's story kind of just ended in an anti-climactic note. I was hoping that Angela -being the Pleasant Sands historian- would have information about his father and that Geoff would get some sort of happiness surrounding the town and his father. The story line just kind of fizzled out which I thought was sad. Other than that, the story was excellent.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a sweet love story between two should-be-enemies, and a whole lot of Christmas spirit.

This was a very well written, heartwarming tale about family, traditions & love. Angela is trying to keep up the tradition of running the Heart of Christmas, a boutique Christmas store. Her family has always been from Pleasant Sands & Angela has fell into being the keeper of history & the stories. As her business is failing, she blames it on a new Christmas superstore that has opened up. She clashes with the owner in person but is developing a relationship with him by email without knowing it’s him.

Geoff co-owns & operates Christmas Galore, the new superstore Angela blames for everything. He’s attracted to her before they get into it. His mother finally tells him that this is where his father was from & the connection she feels. He also finds out she has health issues & it throws him for a loop. The only thing she asks of him is that he personally answers the Dear Santa emails that come in.

This is a wonderful holiday story. From the beginning, as a reader, you experience Angela’s despair over the store & the feeling she’s letting her grandmother down. At the beginning, I didn’t like Angela’s sister, Marie. She seemed hard & unfeeling about all Angela was going through. She grew on me though & I realized it was her version of “tough love”. Geoff came across as a tough single minded business owner with no heart or compassion but as the story grows, you see the place & situations begin to change him. Ms. Naigle has written a wonderful story of new beginnings, traditions & love that was a joy to read.

'Dear Santa' is a charming book with truly likable people, a perfect combination for another Christmas story from Nancy Naigle. The juxtaposition of treasured and often expensive holiday traditions and new, affordable ones is poignantly dealt with in a way that touched me. The impact of childhood on our adult lives is also a tender theme, and I would highly recommend this delightful book for all who like heartwarming holiday offerings.
