I really enjoy New Adult romances that have a central setting around a sport, especially NFL. This was a really enjoyable sports romance, I loved the characters and their steamy chemistry.
What a disappointment! I loved the first book in this series but Ares ruined this one for me. Sorry can't stand bastards like him. Enough said.
This book is a double whammy- it’s an enemies to friends to lovers all wrapped up in a sports romance, I FRICKIN LOVED IT!
.
The story starts with our heroine who has come to work for her dad (coach to the Giants football team) after her life fell apart 6 months previously when she had a DUI. She’s 6 months sober after rehab but struggled to find a job. Enter our hero- Giants star quarterback who has MASSIVE issues with people with substance abuses (due to personal reasons I won’t spoil). What starts off rocky turns into friendship and then one hot as hell romance (seriously hot 🔥🔥).

Gah I loved this book so much! It had all the feels and it was soooo hot! I’ve never read a book before that dealt so clearly with substance abuse and sobriety that was still quite fresh and yet it was done so well! I honestly couldn’t put it down and 100% recommend it!
I love a good sports romance, and this book definitely falls into that category. I’m only sorry that I missed the first of this series. Typical of a lot of this type of genre, of lead alpha is arrogant, spiteful and so self absorbed that he makes it extremely difficult to find any endearing qualities within his hard-core persona.
Rush isn’t all hearts and flowers, as it delves into the seedier side of life and the fallout that comes from heartache and pain, however as the story progresses we are touched by the deeply personal and very real complications that touch these characters such as drugs, mental health and familial drama which are discussed within the pages.
Well done Ms Towle, I’m sure this will be a massive hit with your readers!
