Scarlett Scott is one of my favorite authors. She is on my auto buy list. I love the the heroine are stronger than the hero. I really enjoyed these characters. Definitely a must read.

I have major heart eyes for this book.
The chemistry, the fire, the slow burn romance. I love it. Can't be objective, if you're looking for criticism, this isn't your review. Sorry!!

Who doesn’t adore a good duke, or a bad one, really dukes are the epitome of historical romance and Scarlett Scott has crafted a great one. I fell in love with this book from the beginning and continued through the final page. The book was written well and the characters so lifelike,

Lady Boadicea Harrington is a scandal waiting to happen. She’s too outspoken, too opinionated, and far too much of a flirt to ever land a good match. But that doesn’t concern her. The last of her sisters on the marriage mart, she isn’t about to settle down. In fact, she doesn’t plan to marry at all. If only she could tone down her wild streak and force herself to behave. The Duke of Bainbridge is one of the most powerful men in England, so frigid that it’s rumored his own wife committed suicide to escape him. When Spencer learns his madcap younger brother is pursuing the unsuitable Lady Boadicea, he’s determined to put an end to their ill-advised flirtation. But his best intentions go awry when he discovers his own baffling inability to resist her.
This was a really fun story. I really liked the main characters. The story flowed well and I read through it pretty quickly. I look forward to reading more from this author. I recommend.

Really liked Darling Duke by Scarlett Scott. This is the first book I've read by Ms. Scott and I look forward to more.
Spencer doesn't like Lady Bo - in fact, he can't stand her. She is a scandalous woman from a scandalous family and to make matters worse - his brother believes he is in love with her. When he finds Bo alone in his library reading a dirty book, he loses his mind and kisses her. Actually, he does more than kiss her - comes really close to taking her innocence.
Spencer is honorable and proposes but Bo doesn't want to marry because she has to. She is fighting for women's right to vote and is prepared to remain a spinster. She will come to realize that marrying Spencer is in her best interests - hush a scandal, an ear in the House of Lords and kisses and touches that make her swoon.
Spencer is an interesting character - much more so than Bo - he is a widower whose wife shot and killed herself right before his eyes. He doesn't want to marry and he certainly doesn't want any children. He almost can't live through the hurt and pain his first wife's shocking suicide has caused. But there is something about Bo - he wants her, every inch of her, scandal or not.
These two are explosive, their chemistry is off the charts, they both need each other even if neither will admit it. The love scenes are super hot and sexy. Lots of passion.
This is the sixth book in the series but can easily be read as a stand alone (I did). Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed this book, my first book by Ms. Scarlett Scott. It's pretty steamy and satisfying. I loved our heroine's spunk, She has a quick wit and certainly can hold her own with our hero Spencer. I love the properness, yet very sensual Spencer. This is one of those books that can make your toes curl just reading about our hero.

Spencer had certainly gone through some trying times with his first marriage. The suicide of his first wife certainly has made him built some solid walls around him and has helped him prevent a heartbreak. But Bo is not having it and now that they find themselves together in this relationship. She is not afraid to challenge him and go the extra mile. I enjoyed reading about how she melted his heart. They certainly had very good chemistry.
I enjoyed this book so much that I immediately downloaded another one from Ms. Scott!

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

Darling Duke (Heart's Temptation Book 6)
by Scarlett Scott

A super little read. I totally enjoyed the way this book started and progressed all the way through. I like the characters as well as the plot. It will capture your imagination and keep it. The only down side to this read was the analyzing done. It seemed to drag on forever and kept it that way all the way through. However, even with that , a totally enjoyable read! This will be an author for me to follow in the future. I was given this arc via NetGalley. All opinions in this review are my own. Regards, Anna

Despite being the sixth installment in the series, it is not necessary to have read the previous installments to enjoy this one. Though they will certainly want to after reading it!

Bo is a lovable strong heroine with no interest in marrying while Spencer is a stuffy duke with no intention of getting involved with a woman such as her. The chemistry is immediate and fiery, making their interactions both amusing and delightful to read. Their chemistry and romance came naturally, making for a love to become invested in.

The story is deeper than two souls forced upon each other, however. There is depth to the characters as well as secrets waiting to be uncovered, and, though not original, the story was still interesting.

Overall, Darling Duke is lovely read.

I really enjoyed this book! The chemistry and passion between Bo and Spencer sizzles off the page. The characters are relatable, and the story is fun to follow. Great read!

There's more steamy scenes than my usual historical read! However, it's a wonderfully wicked narrative featuring a rigid duke and an unconventionally passionate lady. This book is made fabulous by the characters of Spencer and Boadicea. Their banter is sexy and hilarious. Intense coupling and poignant scenes of love, despair and desolation. They rightfully deserve their happy-ever-after.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley. This is my honest review.

What a fabulous story. I laughed, and I cried. The characters are enjoyable and fun as well as pure trouble. I couldn't put it down. When it was finished, I was wanting more. Great new author for me.

I enjoyed the story of a fiercely independent and quirky young woman, Lady Boadicea, and Lord Spencer, a rather stuffy Duke. The two inadvertently meet at a house party thrown by Spencer’s mother, when ‘Bo’ sneaks into the library of the home to read a rather naughty little book. Spencer is put out by Bo being in his space, but even more so by the thought that his younger brother is enthralled with the unacceptable young woman.
These two characters clash almost immediately in a war of words, but they are drawn to each other like nothing either has experienced in their pasts.
It’s that flame that draws them into an unexpected situation resulting in their eventual nuptials. It’s humorous, and hot! After things begin to settle we find there’s more to the story. Spencer has reasons for his stiff demeanor which he has shared with no one. Bo wants nothing as much as having Spencer reveal himself to her, but will he, or will their marriage be nothing more than a convenience?
Interesting story with plenty of heat, colorful characters, and a satisfying hea. I do think it would be fun to read Lord Harry’s story as well.

From the very first page, I was pulled into this story. Seriously, there were so many passages I bookmarked on my kindle app that I might as well have done the entire book! Such emotion that pulls at the heart and the back and forth between the hero and heroine held me captive to what would happen next. Lady Boadicea Harrington is not your typical debutante. She is not afraid to speak her mind and really has no censure on her thoughts. At a house party with her sister and brother in law, she comes in contact with Spencer, the Duke of Bainbridge and this is were the story begins. Spencer is truly an emotionally wounded soul that appears cannot be healed.
"The Duke of Bainbridge didn't grace a room with his presence. He owned it with his dark, smoldering elegance". That describes him perfectly and Bo was the perfect foil of light to his darkness.
I really cannot say enough about this book. I could not put it down once I started and I am still thinking about it since the last page was turned. Filled with angst, humor and an exciting romance, this story enforces what I love about historical romance..

A good read, light and enjoyable story. Perhaps a bit more risqué than I would have liked but i didn’t let that deter me as the storyline was good, as were the characters. .

I used to read historical romances years ago but just got tired of all the sex, with little development of characters. This romance is not as bad but still found myself skipping through pages, as my interest waned. Overall not a bad book but I won't be reading any more of this author. I received an e-book from NetGalley in return for an unbiased review.

I loved this book, Bo, Lady Boadicea Harrington is not really interested in a husband but she was in the library to get her bawdy book back and she meets and kisses the Duke of Bainbridge, His mother sees and now Boadicea is compromised. His mother thinks a Harriman is not good enough until the Duke puts his mother in her place. His brother , Harry had hopes of courting Lady Harrington, but the kiss between the Duke and Bo changes things. There is a connection between them and as his mother sees them together, they must be married. I adored this book as it is different from so many others I have read. There are problems, but the good outweigh the bad. One of my most favorite Historical books, ever. Lady Boadicea is his wife who speaks her mind and loves the Duke so deeply. He has many secrets but reveals them when he finds out that he may lose his wife over them. One of the best historical romances that I have ever read. I have bought the rest of the books by this author as they are really that good.. I absolutely adored this book, So full of love and yearning and secrets and finally truth. His mother sees them with each other in an an inappropriate condition and now Boadicea is compromised. His mother thinks a Harriman is not good enough until the Duke puts his mother in her place. The Duke knows that his brother , Harry had hopes of courting Lady Harrington,. I adored this book as it is different from so many others I have read. 3.5 stars

Great characters and a lively story, I enjoyed it. I thought they ended up being well matched and I found their connection very honest and charming.

I just found it a bit slow and laborious in the middle I read two other books in that time.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
💋💋💋
From the first word I loved this book , the intoxicating banter between the two main characters is wonderful especially when we first meet them , and they each other, in the library.
Their relationship is explosive and so spellbinding it’s addictive reading.
These two surely can’t come out of this as a normal , loving couple .
Or can they ?
I recommend this book , it’s sexy and loving with so much need from both parties , throw in a rushed marriage and a brother of the groom in love with the bride,) and you have one of the most funny , but beautiful books you could wish to read .
Very well written and loved every page .
I received an advance copy of this book and chose to submit a review

Another great read from Scarlett Scott. Lady Bo was so feisty, witty, adorable. She was just what Spencer needed, a strong, independent woman to get him out of his funk. None of them wanted to lose an argument or back down. The sex scenes were very HOT HOT HOT .( Get the fan ready). Another keeper from Scarlett Scott. I can't wait for the next one.
Thanks the publisher via Netgalley for this copy in return for an honest review that's my own.

Darling Duke by Scarlett Scott has definitely gone into my ‘books to keep’. This is the 6th book in the Heart's Temptation series. The story follows Lady Boadicea Harrington and Spencer, The Duke of Bainbridge. Not having read many in this series, this is one that is a standalone book, but you will want to soon uncover more about this series. I am now going back to read all of Ms Scott’s books!
Boadicea or as she is known throughout the book, Bo, leaps off the page. Her approach to life is so refreshing and she is such a force to be reckoned with, that Spencer had no other choice but to fall madly in love with her.
From the first chapter, this book had me captivated. I loved both of these characters and I especially thought that Spencer’s internal fragility despite his outward gruff, was handled beautifully.

This is a book to be savoured as you will be disappointed when it finishes!
I received an advanced review copy in exchange for my honest review.
