I always give, as promised, a fair and honest review for any ARC I receive. Well! The air conditioning, while I was reading this book, was not enough to cool the house down! What a great story! Bawdy books, ice duke, passion that just will not stop.

A deliciously wicked story featuring a stiff duke and a wild woman. I loved this book and I loved both of the main characters, Spencer and Boadicea. The banter between the two main characters is flirty, sexy, bawdy and just plain fun. And who does not love a duke that is so staid but really wants to come out and play. Scalding love scenes and poignant scenes of fledgling love and scenes of destruction fill this story with so many emotions. The end is so very sweet – they could have not had a better ending.

This was an erotic and scandalous bodice ripper.... four huge stars of entertainment.

What did I like? Well, the chemistry between Boadiceau and the Duke was nuclear. Love a great looking man with a stick up his butt.... the moment the Duke took the scandalous book from Bo I was completely smitten. Love how she turns the tides and thinks she can get the book back by stealing a kiss. Ruination follows but Bo doesn't give an inch. Lovely HEA. The cover and blurb definitely caught my eye on this one, the author did a great job!

Would I buy this on my own? Yes, this book is definitely a lovely addition to any bodice ripper library. In fact he does actually rip her clothes off in a scene. I feel if I had picked it up in the store it would have appealed to me.

This novel was a good read. Many people can relate to keeping the past with them in the present and having it impact them. It is difficult to let go and open one's self, to accept the hurt and move forward with life.
Lady Boadicea Harrington is a hellion, who enjoys reading bawdy books, is stubborn, and is not afraid to speak her mind or her desires. Spencer, the Duke of Bainbridge, lives in the past and will not allow himself to be happy, believing he needs to repent. He appears frigid, but there is so much more to him underneath his icy exterior. Bo and Spencer are caught in a compromising position, but it brings forth lust and desire between the two. Spencer does right by Bo by proposing marriage. Bo never believed anyone would marry her, yet she agrees to protect her sister. Sparks ignite when the two come together, but Spencer's past keeps holding him back from truly loving Bo. He acts as a coward at times. Bo falls in love with Spencer, but cannot compete with the past. Spencer must make a choice that will keep Bo with him forever or lose her forever.

Loved the book. While Spencer is in the process of compromising Bo, they are caught by his mother and her friend, and as a matter of honor he proposes to her. Bo says yes but then tries to find a way out. The book was a great read in that Spencer has to come to terms with his previous wife’s mental issues and then her suicide, a stillborn son, his sexual craving for Bo and his ability to love again. Bo is carefree and full mischief and I love the way the author wrote her as a strong willed woman and at the same time showed how vulnerable she could be. This is a great book to read and I would highly recommend it.
