Thank you NetGalley for a free eARC in exchange for an honest review. This is truly a heartwarming story. I greatly enjoyed it and I believe that fans of the series will not be disappointed. Highly recommend.
I've always loved getting Thomas Kinkade's newest Christmas novel and this was no different. I understand that Katherine Spencer is now writing them since his death and while it's still a great story, I just didn't connect with the characters in this one. It's a great uplifting holiday novel for those who love Kinkade's earlier work, it's just not one of my favorites.
Martin Nightingale must fulfill some odd wishes in his grandfather's will in order to receive his inheritance and his grandfather's house. His grandfather wants him to spend a large sum of money on personal needs of Cape Light residents with only a small amount going to charity needs. Through the story we learn the story of how Martin's grandfather's toy shop was saved through the generosity of Oliver. In the meantime, Martin finds himself falling for Louisa, the police officer who caught him speeding on his arrival into town. This was a heartwarming story--and a perfect one for Christmas. It reminds us we should bless others with the blessings bestowed upon us. Kindness, even to those who are not kind in return, exemplifies the Christmas spirit. I received an advance electronic uncorrected proof from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Another great story in this series. So fun to read about the history of some of the characters. . Love that netgalley let's me re add this early.
I have enjoyed this series since it's very inception and it continues to be one of my favorites. I particularly enjoyed the flashbacks to the 50's - reminding us that the characters we have grown to know and love were once young. The flashbacks were like pulling back a curtain on their previous lives. The Nightingale family is the heart of the book. . I admit I thought I would miss all my favorite characters, but I didn't, as this book just exudes the Cape Light. ambiance. I have no idea why any one would need a review of this book, it continues in the vein in which the series was started, and I think one of the best.
