Coming Home introduces readers to Alec and Mallory. While the premise of the story is interesting, the pace is too slow and plodding. Unfortunately, I also didn’t feel any chemistry between the main characters. I’m sorry to say, that this story just isn’t for me.

I really enjoyed reading Coming Home by Audrey Wick, book two in The Texas Sisters series. This sweet and wonderful story is about two people who meet by chance. Mallory is stressed and at her wits end after being threatened by one of her college students. She decides to take an unpaid sabbatical while she regains her self-confidence, leaving her home in Santa Fe and spending it with her sister in Texas. After contacting a moving company to assist her she is befriended my one of the owners, Alex. Alex is the only single one at the Four Guys Moving Company and has been feeling lonely. Connecting with Mallory gives him hope and a new lease on life. Despite the distance between them, Alec is hopeful for a relationship with Mallory. When Mallory learns of a connection between Alex and the student who threatened her, she is unable to see Alex any longer, fearful of the consequences. All Mallory has is a hope that she will be offered her position at the college she taught so she can return to Santa Fe and live a life without Alex. Mallory’s younger sister was helpful, offering advice as well as a place to stay while she regrouped.

I loved seeing Mallory becoming more self-assured after spending time with Alex. Mallory was everything Alex wanted and he was determined to help Mallory adjust to changes in her life and find her confidence. Alex was so much more than just a “mover”, he was intelligent, compassionate, and caring and the perfect partner for Mallory. The fact that Mallory’s cat liked him, even snuggling with him, showed that he was a good person.

I totally loved reading this book and didn’t want to put this book down. Ms. Wick wrote a wonderful story which drew me in, making me forget the world around me and did not let me go until I turned the last page. I highly recommend this book to other reader.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

First off, DNF @ page 42.

I liked the beginning of the book well enough. It had the set-up to be an interesting story. But then the biggest plot killer of all time appeared and that was the end of it.

Insta-love.

It wasn't even normal insta-love. It was insta-love times ten. Mallory and Alec are smitten with each other right off the bat...when they hear each other's voices on the phone.

It just gets weirder from there. A moving company calling a client multiple times a day to see how packing is going? A woman having no problem driving things to a storage unit but then refusing to leave the house to eat dinner? And it's too inconvenient to unpack one box for kitchen supplies to make a meal (because she was in such a packing frenzy that she accidentally packed everything she would need)?? Ugh. It's just cringy. These characters are not awesome.

I wasn't sticking around to see what happened to these characters that I didn't care about. If you love sappy, predictable, insta-love romance, check this one out. But it's a hard pass for me.

Unfortunately, Coming Home is not an appealing novel. The character of Mallory is self-absorbed with drama queen tendencies and not much of a backbone.

The writing is meandering with many words used incorrectly.

The blurb is misleading as it never clearly states that Alec is a mover and claims that he helps people in crisis, which is really overstating the job of a mover. Of course, this is reiterated in the novel with the statement that people who are moving are fragile. There is a lot of fragility in this novel.

As for the relationship between Mallory and Alec, it's not believable, but then instalove rarely is.

The cover was cute.

"Coming Home" by Audrey Wick was a delightful, light read. It is the second book in the Texas Sisters series but I am happy to say, it is a stand-alone novel. The book kept my interest, having the social media aspect brought it right into today's world of what can happen through social media.
This is my first book to read by Audrey Wick and I enjoyed her writing style. This book kept my interest with its sweet romance between Mallory and Alec. I have to say Mallory did get on my nerves every now and then as she dwelled on certain things to the point I would get exasperated.
I truly enjoyed reading my first Audrey Wick book and look forward to reading more from her.

in coming home, mallory fredrick finds herself on a forced sabbatical after a student makes threats against her online. her confidence shaken and her sense of security seriously disturbed, mallory decides to move back to seguin and live with her sister, paige for the semester.

prepping for the move is a logistical nightmare as it has to come together quickly and before the holidays. when mallory calls the four guys moving company, the last thing she expects is for one of the guys to become her guy.

alec o'donnell doesn't know what it is about mallory. when she first calls him in tears and later as he spends time with her, he wants to know her better. he wants to get closer. but she's leaving town and his home is in santa fe. and who starts a long distance romance based on a week's acquaintance. she's a client. he was her mover.

but the heart wants what the heart wants. and mallory and alec can't stop thinking about each other. when a wrench is thrown in their path, it almost seems insurmountable. but you know, it's a romance. so things do work out nicely in the end. this book is more wordy and descriptive than fast-paced, and it's a sweet romance with barely any physicality. which sometimes is just what i want to read.

**coming home will publish on july 26, 2018. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/tule publishing in exchange for my honest review.

This is the first book I have read by Audrey Wick. This is the second book in the Texa’s Sisters series. I have to say that I really enjoyed it. I found it to be a very sweet romantic story. It also brought out how one person act on social media can really affect someone else. In today’s society we see this happening more and more. Alec and Mallory were great together. They meant because Mallory needed a moving company. I thought they had instant chemistry. When they meet Mallory is not in a great place. Alec really likes her and refuses to give up. This book takes a twist I was not expecting but it just made the book that much more great. The characters are all great and the story line keeps you engaged the whole time. I am going to have to go back now and read the first book in this series. Thanks Net Galley. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a disappointment. It's tough to have a romance where the heroine and her aren't together - there's no opportunity for the romance to build. Most of this book was Mallory angsting over her job. Alex seemed like he could be. sweet hero, but we never really got a chance to find out

College professor, Mallory Fredrick and Alec O’Donnell meet when Mallory needs a moving company to help her move some of her things from Santa Fe, New Mexico, to her sister’s house in Seguin, Texas. Mallory, a college professor took a sabbatical after a student attacked her on social media. She was fearful of what he might try next. Along the drive to Texas, Mallory and Alec become good friends and they start having feelings for each other. Mallory doesn’t really want a relationship, but Alec refuses to give up. He even goes as far as inviting Mallory to his family reunion in Santa Fe, which Mallory accepts. But, that was when Mallory found out something about Alec’s family that scared her back to Texas as fast as she could get there. Now Alec must work extra hard to get Mallory back and to help her overcome her fears.

I enjoyed this book a lot. The characters were believable and the story kept me interested the entire time I was reading. There was romance along with a bit of suspense to keep the story moving along nicely. There was even a Persian cat named Bella who stole quite a few scenes.

In this day and age Coming Home brings to the reader a though of how one acts on social media and how those actions really affect someone else's life. The ramifications of one college student's social media posts are seen through the lens of college professor Mallory Fredericks and how the fear of the actions of one of her students changed her life to the point of moving away from the source of the fear for at least a semester sabbatical.

The romance love interest, Alec, is introduced when Mallory needs a moving company for her temporary relocation to Texas to stay with her sister. The chemistry was felt from the initial meeting face to face to start the moving process and her life is in chaos. Mallory is trying to get herself back to feeling safe again and not feeling so lost after her routine and life have been upended and she just met this great guy that she is a whole state away from now. The journey that these two take is cute and the plot twist that comes about two thirds in, makes for an interesting and easy summer afternoon read.

I felt this book was going to be right up my alley. I was a little disappointed. It was kind of long and drawn out. I found myself bored with it and the storyline.

Coming Home is the second book in the Texas Sisters series. It is a stand-alone book. This is my first book to read by Audrey Wick and truly enjoyed it. She writes a sweet romance about Alec and Mallory. I thought it was a very relevant story in today’s world of social media madness. I’m looking forward to reading more books by Audrey Wick.

Mallory meets Alec when she needs to hire someone to help her move house and leave town for a while, and she never tells him why. Their is a connection between them the first time they speak on the phone, but she is leaving town and who knows when she will be back.

An enjoyable short read with some surprises along the way. This is the second book in the series, but I don't think it matters if you haven't read the first, which is the story of her sister Paige.
