I love books that focus on the characters and their story rather than having the story change to fit the characters. This was definitely one of those books. I seem to have a habit of picking books about people with abusive pasts lately, and this one is no different. But Jesse managed not only to get away from his abuser, but to file charges against him. He grows as a person in his new relationship with Aadon (okay, I admit... I really didn't like his name) and I love how they came together. Beautiful book.
