I really enjoyed this book; the characters were wonderfully well-developed, the plot unique (at least, from my experience), but the one complaint I would offer is not having it pointed out through the cover or other notes that this was very much not an entire story unto itself - part one, in fact, of a multi-volume effort. I'll continue to read the others as they become available, but the abrupt cliff-hanger left a bit of a sour note. I'm rating this with five stars on the merit of the writing and story alone.
