I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased opinion.
Naomi Price loves almost everything about her job teaching poetry at Hainamor University. The only thorn in her side is fellow English professor Sebastian Blake, who has the temperament of House from the TV show of the same name and is constantly trading barbs with her. When Naomi finds herself up for the same prestigious faculty award as Sebastian, their relationship gets more heated than ever.
I liked that the relationship between the two developed slowly over time, so that you could see their feelings changing. However, there was nothing in the story that set it apart from others in its field. If you like romances, you'll like this book.
This was a fun enemies to lovers story , I enjoy reading it!!It was fast paced and the concept one of my top favorite!I laughed at their childish behaviors they entertained me!My only complain is that I didn't love the characters as much as I wished!
I just absolutely loved this book. I was so entertained-- it is a well balanced book full of emotion and heart,
This story was fun with a snarky heroine and a hero willing to give it right back. The push and pull between characters was entertaining. Definitely worth a read!!
This one is great for fans of The Hating Game, or Dating You, Hating You. An enemies-to-lovers romance set in a college environment, I ate up I Hate You, I Love You with a big spoon and was delighted from beginning to end.
Naomi Price is a beloved poetry professor with few complaints about her life. All of them, however, center on her colleague at Hainamor University, Sebastian Blake. The two of them snipe at each other constantly, are in frequent bickering battles, and generally cannot stand one another. When they are forced to work together on a project for the students, they discover an important truth: the opposite of love is never hate, it’s indifference.
The process of peeling back the layers of their past is done so well that I simply could not put it down. In fact, it’s a strong contender for one of my Top Ten books of the year! If you’re a contemporary romance fan, one-click this immediately.

I have mixed feelings regarding Elizabeth Haley's “I Love You I Hate You”. Well the purpose of the book was interesting and the writing for nicely and a third person point of view (mostly from Naomi's) however I still have mixed feelings which stems from the main characters, sexy Sebastian Blake and headstrong Naomi Price. Both Sebastian and Naomi are English professors at a college in New England. While the authors did a great job of establishing each character and there individual suffering they went through, that eventually allow them to form a bond, it was the constant bickering between these two adults that completely turned me off. At times I found myself questioning if I wanted to keep reading the book I was so frustrated with them . However, once they formed this bond and their relationship really took off that's when I was able to sink deeper into this book and enjoy it.
Thank you NetGalley for digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this story. One of my top favorite tropes is enemies to lovers, and that's exactly what I hate you, I love you was. Both Naomi and Sebastian are professors, and when they are both nominated for the same teaching award, they can't help but fall into competition mode.
This book was so funny at times... I loved the characters banter with each other. There was clearly interest there thought they both tried to fight it. I love that the author didn't force the romance, it gradually just took over, taking its time.
All in all this was a great romance, with a lot of funny parts. I definitely recommend this story!

I really enjoyed this book, I wasn’t able to put it down once I started it and I’m giving it four stars. Sebastian is a cranky English professor who has had a rough time in life after the loss of his wife and daughter. Sebastian is an extra-large a$$ to Naomi, the poetry professor whose office cubicle is directly across from his, and Naomi equally despises him, despite the physical attraction between the two. To make a tough situation even worse, the two have both been nominated for an award at the college and are to compete against one another to determine the winner. While competing, the two wind up having to work together and the more time they spend together, the more the hate begins to turn into something more.
Not only did I love both of the main characters, I found their banter hilarious and it’s what made the book hard to put down. The only reason I’m giving four instead of five stars is because the wording in the story was sometimes overdone. I realize that the characters were both college professors, but it was still a bit much. Despite that, I’m excited to read more from Elizabeth Hayley.
Elizabeth Hayley continues to be one of my favorite writing duos, and they always deliver an incredible story! This book was no different. It was fantastically written, it kept me hooked from start to finish, and it was an all around incredible read that gave me an enemies to lovers story I needed in my life. Enemies to lovers is one of my all time favorite types of stories, and with Elizabeth Hayley's exceptional humor and writing, they brought this story and these characters to life in the absolute best way.
I Hate You, I Love You was a fantastic read that follows two people who hate one another as they are put against each other. What ensues between these two is full of banter, witty comebacks, and more humor and laugh out loud moments than you can shake a stick at. Elizabeth Hayley's dynamic writing brings every word of this story to life in a way that will have you smiling and laughing and simultaneously feeling so much for these characters. What I loved about this book was that as much as it made me laugh with these characters and their back and forth, it also allowed me to feel so much with them. It had such an emotional level to it that was real and honest and definitely tugged at my heart a bit. That coupled with the intense and incredible build of fire and connection between these two had me loving every bit of this story.
Natalie and Sebastian had a fantastic level of chemistry through every page of this story. That connection builds and builds the more these two are together, and it will have you needing everything that is building between those two. What those two share is real, intense, and very them, and it makes this story one that you won't be able to put down. I loved that I was really able to connect to both of their characters and everything they were sharing together. Elizabeth Hayley makes their characters layered and real, while also making them characters you just want more time with. That made reading this story even more enjoyable than it already was.
I Hate You, I Love You was another phenomenal read by Elizabeth Hayley. It was exceptionally written, it was funny as hell and enjoyable as all get out, and it had me loving everything I was reading. This read was fun and meaningful and just overall incredible from start to finish. I can't wait for more from this writing duo! They write one helluva story with the best amount of banter and connection between their characters, and I can't wait for more of it all!
I definitely enjoyed this book. The story was good. Good banter between characters. Strong and well developed characters. The story was well written. I would recommend this andv I give it 4. 5 stars.
An entertaining enemies to lovers story filled with humorous banter and well fleshed out characters.
Having lived in Vermont, the location just felt...off. The writing also felt long winded and clunky at points. The opening sentence being a perfect example. It was so wordy that it needs to be reread a couple times for its full meaning to be understood. The banter between the leads can lean one of two ways. Sometimes it was humorous and entertaining while other times it made the leads appear childish and immature.
Their progression for hate to love, however, was subtle and well done. It felt natural and realistic so that the reader wasn’t scratching their head at the end wondering how it happened. The story as a whole is not earth shattering but its simplicity worked.
While the story wasn’t without its problems, it was overall an enjoyable read.
This story was amazing. I just love the characters. This is a must read!! I love the way the story began it got my attention right away and I couldn’t put it down.
It started out like the perfect enemies to lovers Romance. But then nothing interesting happened for way too long. This Romance needs some major editing. There was too much, boring, every day activity that went on for way too long. AND the characters had zero chemistry, plus by the time something finally happened between them, I'd lost interest. Maybe if the author had focused more on the characters backgrounds a bit more and not so much on their everyday monotony? And perhaps on giving them some chemistry. I wasn't feeling it. Sorry.
*I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.*
I have to admit, I love me a good enemies-to-lovers story. Unfortunately, this one didn't quite make it for me.
This is so hard to review, because I'm not sure if I'm being unfair and comparing it to The Hating Game, which I absolutely adored and consider like the best of this trope.
I think what I dislike is when one of the characters is such a huge almost-unforgivable asshole. It also wasn't really funny enough to offset the fighting and squablling-- in fact one fight in front of their bosses made me physically cringe. :/ I just couldn't completely believe the couple.
There was a lot of good to the book-- I never felt like giving up on it. The characters annoyed me from time to time, but they weren't horrible once they were working to get closer to one another. And Sebastian has some cute moments and does enough that I was able to forgive him... just barely.
I might recommend this to someone looking for an enemies-to-lovers romance.
It took me a while to finish this book and it’s because life sometimes doesn’t let you do other stuff. I finally finished it and I can completely say that I have loved it. Both Naomi and Sebastian were great characters. I loved their banter but also their understanding for each other. The back story for both was equally sad and i’m glad we got the chance to read it. Loveeeeed it.
I just couldn't read it all. I didn't find this book interesting and I found a lack of chemistry. Maybe I just need a break from this genre of books.
I have never read anything by Elizabeth Hayley, but I quite enjoyed this one. Naomi was funny and spirited- which I liked. Sebastian was a good combination in a man (when you get to know him). Their chemistry, whether bickering or loving, was great.
A funny story that has a pottery professor Naomi Price who is looked up to by her students, and English professor Sebastian Blake. Both of them have a snarky attitude towards each other. Hers began the first day she met him and when she gave everyone in the department small home cakes and he threw his in the trash. That day forward all the comments he makes to her are smart-ass, or some days they can be mean and hurtful. Though days she works on making sure she does not show that he got to her. This slowly begins to change when they are both up for the same award. Now they must work around the campus in helping students, and slowly they begin to talk. It really changes when she shows up at his house one night when he did not show up for work. Bringing chicken soup the house does not look like it would be his. After some discussion they begin to change towards each other. But does he really want someone to get that close again because of his past, and does he think he deserves any type of happiness. Maybe he will change his mind when he drives Naomi away. This is a much better book and story than I am describing in my review. The characters all of them are good and I liked that the author even had NaNo writing month since it is next month. A very good book.
Entertaining workplace, enemies-to-lovers story. I would have liked to learn more about Naomi, and Sebastian could actually be sweet when he wasn't being a d-bag. The back and forth between the two of them had me laughing quite a few times throughout the story.
There's a fine line in between love and hate...or so they say. I Hate You, I Love You is a cute enemies to lovers romance with the added bonus of it being a workplace situation.
Two "broken" people hiding it all inside. They feel the connection but...
He's always pushing away and she can't help but fire back. No doormat heroine here. Naomi is feisty and fun while Sebastian is a cranky ass. It's a fun read.
