Love a good romance and this is a good romance. When I saw that this had been a Hallmark Channel movie that was all I needed to see to want to read this. I, like many, are addicted to Hallmark Movies. This didn't disappoint. Filled with characters that you cheered on, cared for and ones that you didn't care for as much... it struck a perfect balance that you want in a romance. Not overly sappy, but poignant all the same. I'll read more books by this author based on this one.
Bradley Suttons, now big time country star is engaged to Catherine Mann and with his future developing he decides to go home to 'tie up' loose ends of his old family home. This decision is spurred by a letter from his childhood best friend sending him his mothers engagement ring and a friendly note. Upon returning home he seeks Sarah out and as they spend time together their story unfolds.
The epilogue tied up what was missed in the movie and made me smile as it was a perfect ending.

Such a sweet second chance love story!
Charming and adorable, I am a sucker for musician heroes and Bradley was just my favorite catnip. I loved this one and can't wait to read it again.
Many thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

A Country Wedding is a charming story. I loved the characters and the story flowed well. I lived the Hallmark movies and the books are better. I really enjoyed this story and didnt want it to end. I was gifted am arc of this book through netgalley. Tge opinions in this review are my own.
This was a real page turner from start to end; as always the author has you enthralled from the beginning with a gorgeous story line and relatable characters. Thrown in a few twists and a jug of kindness and you have the perfect story line. A lovely warming read.
Hallmark always does a wonderful job at stories like this. A country music star who believes he's got it all figured out... a life he left behind and a woman that strangely still makes him weak in the knees... A Country Wedding is everything you want in a feel good story, right done to the beautiful and heart filled setting. Definitely worth the read even if you have seen the movie. Love the recipes at the end as well.
**thanks to Hallmark for the ability to review this book.**
I absolutely love the story and writing. I didn't want to stop reading it. I love the hallmark movie but the book is so much better.
Fun, quick read about a country music star who returns to his home town and learns the meaning of true love. Quick, clean romance. Worth the time to read!
The book truly read like a Hallmark movie. Loved it. There was Catherine, the one he is supposed to marry. There is the handsome music star and the neighbor next door. The book was a nice heartwarming read.
What a perfect easy read. I really enjoyed this. Loved the characters and the storyline, a sweet hometown romance.
Boy leaves town, becomes famous, gets engaged to famous star, returns home, meets up with girl next door, who just happens to be losing family farm, can you see where this is going? Texas setting was different.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in return for an honest review.
Like all Hallmark movies and books, this one is a romantic, happy, clean read, and I genuinely enjoyed it.
Bradley Sutton, country star, is engaged to actress Catherine Mann, and their wedding is approaching quickly. He decides to take a trip back to his childhood town before the wedding, intending to put his childhood home up for sale.
Sarah Standor, his childhood friend, still lives in town, running a ranch for rescue horses. The pair had innocently exchanged "marriage vows" when they were 13.
Gradually the pair come to realize that perhaps you can indeed go home again.
Beautifully written. I recommend this lovely, heartwarming novel.

STOP !!! Don’t read all synopses. Believe me you will love this book. A heartwarming story. I rather not get into the plot. Just enjoy the story. Can’t wait to see the Hallmark movie.
This is so cute and so sweet. There’s a second chance romance vibe to the story even though Sarah and Bradley didn’t ever really get a first chance. The first part of the book was charming with Bradley and Sarah reconnecting, remembering their shared childhoods, but I rushed through this a little bit. I so badly wanted to see how the dramatics would play out when Bradley found out what his superstar fiancée had been planning for him. Without giving away some of the best parts of the book, they were lower key than I’d kind of been hoping for, but they were perfectly ‘Bradley’. I adored the way this book ends.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley.
A Country Wedding: Based On the Hallmark Channel Original Movie by Leigh Duncan

My Rating: 4/5 stars
Oh, Hallmark Channel, how you make me so delightfully happy with these super sweet romances!
Bradley Suttons has finally made it as a Nashville star. After ten long years of trying, working, and singing his heart out, he is at the top and has achieved every dream he ever thought possible. What’s more, he’s engaged to Hollywood’s hottest actress and their impending nuptials are just what they have both always wanted, a quiet, private event away from the glitz and glamour of their everyday lives. But, before the big day Bradley needs to make a trip back home to tie up some loose ends.
Back home is Mill Town, Texas where Bradley has both the best and worst memories of his life. Bradley lived next door to his best friend, Sarah on a matching ranch, and until the moment his parents died, Bradley couldn’t imagine living anywhere else in the world. Coming home isn’t the easiest thing Bradley has ever done, but within a day or two, he begins to remember just why he loved his hometown so much. The calm, the quiet, the land, the people, everything he lacks in his new ultra-famous life and world can be found in Mill Town. What’s more, Sarah still lives next door and she has grown into a beautiful woman. She is kind, intelligent, caring, and so very glad to see her old friend back in town.
Sarah is beyond pleased to have Bradley living right next door once again. With each passing day, Bradley seems to relax a bit more and before long, he is coming over to Sarah’s every day to catch up and help her around the ranch. Sarah’s life’s work involves caring for abandoned and sick animals, especially horses and Bradley enjoys being around her brood. The trouble is, most of Sarah’s charges are abandoned which means their previous owners aren’t exactly paying the bills for their care. Though she is immensely happy with Bradley and his help around the ranch, Sarah is in dire financial trouble and at risk of losing everything she holds dear. She isn’t looking to impose on her friend or ask for his financial assistance, so Sarah keeps her woes to herself and simply enjoys the limited time she has with Bradley.
And then, Bradley has an idea . . . .
Bradley is certain he and his fiancée won’t find a place any better suited to their wedding wishes than Sarah’s barn and so, the planning begins. With Sarah’s help and not a lot of time until the wedding date, Bradley begins to pull together the single most romantic wedding any girl could ever hope to have. Trouble is, Bradley’s fiancé isn’t just any girl, and as the plans begin to take shape, Bradley and Sarah both realize, Bradley just may be marrying the wrong girl.
The Bottom Line: From start to finish, this sweet romance kept me turning the pages. Sarah is an immensely likeable character and once Bradley pulls his head out, he is such a wonderful man. What I enjoyed most about this read is the journey Bradley must take to truly find himself and what he wants from his life. Bradley’s journey involves facing his past, the loss of his parents, and how he must absolutely trust the people around him and close to him to be happy. What Bradley discovers is that life isn’t about fame and fortune, but about truth, loyalty, and love. With Sarah by his side, Bradley gets back to his roots and finds the greatest success of his life.
A Country Wedding is one of those books I couldn't put down. I have not seen the movie which the book is based on, therefore I cannot cannot compare the two. But the book was a perfect romance novel for me. The story is based on an award winning country singer, Bradley who is engaged to a famous and beautiful Hollywood actress, Catherine Mann. Before the wedding Bradley decides to return to his childhood home before his parents died in Mill Town. His plan was a fast trip there to sell his house and move on with his future. But once he returns, he realizes what he left behind. He re connects with old friends, and feels like he is apart of the town, even with his famous face.
This novel is extremely well written, the flow of the story-line was absolutely perfect. I loved all the characters. It was a sexy book but written in a very pure way. This is a book, I will read again. 5+
I was given a copy of this book by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
A COUNTRY WEDDING by Leigh Duncan
National television his wife to be let it be known they were engaged. Catherine had a reason, and now he needed to find out why she did it. For Sarah, the ranch been there for generations, it was more for the horses, dogs, the gardens that she was holding dear to her. Along with all the bills, and foreclosure. A new owner to the place, and now in front of her, he once had been her husband, they were only thirteen. Then he was whisked away, and stardom came for him. Old memories never die, and with it brings two people together to share those. The healing for him, was here to write music once again from his heart. The people, the story was like visiting people you knew, delightful to read. GivenARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion. Hallmark
Really liked this book and if you had seen the movie there a few differences. Not changes of the story but more from what was going on from the characters. What you do get is a little more of Catherine which is Bradley’s fiancé who is not there in his home town planning what he thinks will be there wedding, but in Italy doing a film and planning what she expects their wedding to be. It will be up to Bradley to decide if he wants to go through with it or act on the feelings brought back up inside of him while being home and spending time with his first love Sarah. What I also really liked about this book was the epilogue and for me that really gave it an extra push for the story and after the movie. A very good book.
My weekends are filled with reading and watching The Hallmark Channel. I know what you’re thinking…this girl knows how to party 😉 I have a list of my top favorite movies and A Country Wedding is on it! So, I thought why not read the book to get a different look at this love story.
I was already a fan of the movie and was so excited to read this book from Leigh Duncan. The story follows a famous country music superstar, Bradley Suttons, who has to visit his hometown to sell his childhood home all while planning his wedding to a high profile actress. This was intriguing enough, but throw in his childhood best friend, Sarah Standor, and things really start to get interesting.
I really loved the background story. Brad-bird (this is seriously one of the cutest nicknames EVER) and Sarah were best friends and she was there for one of his hardest times, dealing with the loss of his parents. They got married and it was Sarah’s idea. She wanted him to know that he still had a family. AWW
It was a joy to see them evolve throughout the book. In the beginning, Bradley is just settling. He isn’t really in love with his fiance because he doesn’t want to feel the pain that comes with fully opening up to someone. By the end of the book, he has learned that love is one of the greatest things one can experience in life. There may be ups and downs, but it’s worth the ride.
Bradley isn’t the only character that evolves in this book. Sarah has always been a strong, confident, and hard-working woman and that won’t change. But she too learns to let her guard down and realizes that she doesn’t have to carry all the load.
Leigh Duncan created an uplifting small-town romance about love, loss, and finding your own home with whomever/wherever is right for you.
