An engaging story. The characters are so real and the story is great. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone. Enjoyed every minute from start to finish. Loved this book.
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book was actually a movie made into a book, which I have never experienced. Hallmark has some amazing movies and they have decided to share these movies as books for their followers. I love to spend my time watching the Hallmark channel, especially since I don't have to wait until my kids go to bed. This book, I probably could have shared with my 8 year old who always cuddles up to me when I turn on the Hallmark channel. I can always count on everything to be family friendly and don't have to explain things that she is too young to understand! We are enjoying Christmas in July! We are spending too much time watching the Hallmark channel, but we are beating the heat!
This book begins with Bradley (played by Jesse Metcalfe in the movie) juggling his career, writing new songs, planning a wedding, making public appearances and just trying to stay grounded. Bradley was raised in a small town, Mill Town and is engaged to Catherine Mann (played by Laura Mennell in the movie), an actress who got her start as a child star and is used to being in the spotlight. While on TV, Catherine blurts out that they are engaged, a secret that they have been keeping form their adoring fans for privacy reasons. We are then cut to Sarah (played by Autumn Reeser in the movie) who was born and raised in Mill Town, even still lives in the house that she had grown up in.Sarah is reminiscing about how she married Bradley at 13 years old in her parent's barn by their best friend, Adam. Bradley decides to venture home after receiving a letter from someone from his childhood. He decides that it is time that he go back and sell his house, since he has not been back since he was 13. Unfortunately, Catherine is in the middle of filming a movie and cannot drop everything to head back with him. While he is home, he is tasked with planning the wedding on his own, he reconnects with a few old friends and they manage to help him along the way with his planning. Many things are discovered about Bradley's relationship with Catherine. We laugh through this book, we cry, we are mad, but in the end, things work out in a way that we always wanted! It is a nice feel good book and movie!

I had a hard time getting into this book. I thought the main character and his fiance were in their own world and maybe not too in touch withhow the real world works. It was an ok book but I wouldn't read it again.
What if the person you married when you were 13 was the person you were always meant to be with.
Bradley Sutton has it all. Fame, fortune, and a beautiful fiance anyone would envy. With his wedding rapidly approaching, Bradley feels like in order to move on with his new life he has to close the chapter on his old life. So he sets off for Mill Town to sell his parent's house. Too many memories of his parents' death haunt Mill Town and Bradley can't wait to move on. That is...until he meets Sarah Standor once again.
Sarah remembers Bradley fondly when his parent's died and she offered to marry him at 13 so he could have a family. After that she never saw him again. But now he's back and her feeling start to betray her head. She can't fall in love with him. He's a big time star, not the small town kid she once knew. Or is that only what she thinks?
I love Hallmark Channel and everything it stands for. I recommend this for everyone. Like all Hallmark material it is clean and appropriate for all ages.
And make sure to watch the Hallmark Channel Original Movie "A Country Wedding."
I've seen this movie but it has been a while. The book follows the movie quite well. In the book we hear inner dialog to better understand what is going on in their heads and I kept wondering how they portrayed that in the movie but I can't remember. Perhaps it was all just facial expressions and body language. It was nice to read the book to know what was going on in their thought processes though.
It is a typically cute, clean Hallmark story. If you like Hallmark romance movies you will also like this book.
The book was provided to me by Netgalley. I freely wrote this review.
This is such a wonderful book. Leigh Duncan did an excellent job of making the characters in her book come alive. You can feel all the emotions. Don't miss this book. The recipe at the end of the book sounds really good. Thank you NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for the free copy. The opinions in this review are my own.
The characters in A Country Wedding are delightful - people I'd like to know and have as friends and neighbors. The story, although somewhat predictable, is definitely a feel good read. I'd like to see A Country Wedding continue as a series.
One thing did leave me feeling confused. Sarah went to veterinary school. She is only referred to as doctor once when she and Bradley first reconnect. I kept wondering why she didn't have a practice.
These story about Bradley and Sarah and how they had a second chance of love and how they found there way back to each other. I thought these book was well written and it held my attention I couldn't stop reading it.
I received a copy of A Country Wedding from the Publisher and Net Gallery in exchange for a honest and voluntary review.
A Country Wedding by Leigh Duncan. Bradley went home to sell his parents ranch when he did he ran into his old girlfriend Sarah. Bradley found out he was still in love with Sarah. So true love prevails. I loved the story..
This is a wonderful book! Leigh Duncan is an amazing author who’s characters come alive in this book. I would love to see this Hallmark movie.
This is a story about two people having a second chance at “true love “.
The sandwich recipe at the back of the book sounds amazing as well.
Planning for their wedding proves to a couple they have different ideas, dreams and ideals. He wants plain and simple, in his hometown. She wants big fancy and attended by high-profile people. As he talks with the 'girl next door' she realizes long before he does that he knows nothing abut his fiance. Not her favorite flower, color, or even what flavor ice cream she likes. While you know almost from the beginning how it will all turn out, the fun is in the reading. A really good book to read and enjoy.
Having seen the movie, based on this book, on the Hallmark channel, I wanted to see how true to the book it had been. I’m not surprised that it was identical to the book. What I enjoyed most of all was being able to get the inner monologue of the characters, something the movie couldn’t do. All in all, this story was a complete pleasure to loose myself in...even though having already seen the movie!
This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.
