A satisfying ending to this fun series. Ariel was so much fun to read, and Eric was very yummy. Bonus points for featuring a Sphinx cat.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This was definitely a fun and unexpectedly cute read.
Ariel is strong and independent woman who needs no man in her life. Ever since her husband left her, she decided she will never depend on a man again. And that includes, Eric, who is basically a friend of her friends.
At first, I didn't like Ariel very much, but as the book progressed I realized she was so mean to everyone, (especially to Eric) as a defense mechanism, after the garbage marriage that she had, she was insecure about herself.
When she finds herself without a place to live, Eric offers her his boat, and she agreed after some convincing.
I liked the dynamic between Eric and Ariel, they had a fun, cute and sweet relationship without bordering on chessy.
Their friends were hilarious, but I must admit I felt a little left out, since I haven't read the two previous book, so there's a lot of Eric and Ariel's relationship that I'm obviously missing on.
I loved how the guys never judged their business, they didn't make them feel bad because of it or thought less of them, it's really amazing in a book when they accept that what they're doing isn't in any way wrong and they cand do what they want with their bodies.
So overall it was a pretty great book and had a great epilogue. (I love multiple happy endings)
Going into this series, I *knew* without a doubt that Ariel's book would be the best of the bunch. What I didn't realize is that it would completely blow the other two out of the water. And that's saying a lot considering those were outstanding on their own.
In Disney life, Belle has always been my favorite princess. I relate to her on many levels, but her love of reading and not necessarily fitting in are the main ones. So I suppose I expected her book to be my favorite. And Tara did a brilliant job in bringing an updated, quirkier version to the page. However, even in the first book, I have to own up and say that Ariel was my favorite Sivec princess. Yes, there's a difference.
So many aspects of Ariel's personality reminds me of myself. Her mouth, wit, and sense of humor are all things I can relate to. Some may see her as crass, but eff that! There's nothing wrong with a colorful, creative vocabulary.
Once again, Sivec was also able to incorporate classic fairy tale elements into this modern retelling. It's definitely genius and definitely surprises me every time. I think my one criticism of this book, though, was that Ariel and company were aware of the fairy tale. To me, meeting Eric, Vanessa, etc would seem weird/odd and instead she mentions the princess several times. I don't know...I think they should have existed separately, if that makes sense. A fictional world without Disney, I guess.
The story itself is cute and fun. And really revealed these last two characters phenomenally. They were more than worth the wait! I laughed so many times in this book. I swooned. And as Ariel and Eric overcome their obstacles (her monetary plight, his mother...) you can't help but wish there were more Naughty Princesses in store.
Everything is tied up in the end. I was so grateful for the epilogue, because while I don't mind open endings, in this case, fairy tales need their HEAs. And we need to know what happened AFTER all the drama is finally over.
I would read this series forever. With old princesses and each new one that Disney puts out there. Tara Sivec is a right genius and I'd love to see the direction she'd go with some others (like Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, and Rapunzel, just to name a few. I highly recommend this series to everyone!
I liked this book. Did I love it? No. I wish I did. I feel like the cursing was just too much for me, even though I am all for cursing. Weird, right?
Liked the story, Love a strong woman character, liked that she stood up for herself and tackled her issues.
Will read this author again.
Ariel and Eric.... this is the Little Mermaid!!!
I loved the references to the Disney movie! Ha! Her dad owns Triton boats. hilarious!
Anyways, Ariel is a strong-willed woman who helped create the business - The Naughty Princess Club - with her 2 friends because she is in need of money since she is having a hard time paying all her bills and the alimony money she owes her ex-husband. Done with love, she refuses to be set up by friends. Enter Eric - her mind tells her to not like him, but her body wants him. Badly!
When her ex-husband comes back into the picture and makes her feel useless and unloved, Eric is the one who slowly builds her back up. (Think of her ex-husband as Ursula.)
I thought this book was too funny and I look forward to reading the previous books in this series.
Since I did not read the previous books in this series, I can say I don't feel like I missed out on much by reading this one first even though it is book 3.
I received an ARC from St. Martin's Press and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!
I give this book 4.5 stars! Kiss the Girl by Tara Sivec is part of the very cleverly written threesome of naughty princesses. It's the VERY adult twist on the "cartoon" princesses many grew up with. This book is sexy, thoroughly entertaining and hilarious! Kiss the Girl may be read as a stand alone, but I would highly recommend reading the first two books; to meet the other characters and to understand the bond these three women have. Some may find the beginning of this book challenging to get through, only because Ariel's character isn't very likable at first, but that definitely changes. If you're game for a snarky and entertaining rom-com, this is it!
Everything about this series always gets me in the mood to just laugh, have such a blast when reading it because all the characters always have the best charisma and adoration. This story is no exception on that. Thank you to SMP for sending over a copy!
Ariel and I have a lot in common. We're both blunt and give it as good as we get it (humor, sarcasm, etc). I just loved her book. The other two were amazing but this one is a little more special just because of how much Ariel is like me.
"There hasn't been anyone since you walked into that fucking club over there and knocked me on my ass, princess."
The humor was on point between Eric and Ariel. I loved him in the previous books but in this one he showed me so much more. I couldn't get enough of the way he loved her just the way she is. His acceptance of her was everything. Their chemistry leaped off of the pages (well screen) and just gave me all the flutters.
"Now I'm just pissed. Pissed that I was forced to give up a guy who looked at me the way I look at tacos."
If you haven't read these books then I just can't even with you. This is Tara Sivec at her finest. If you have read these then I hope you have checked out her Fool Me Once series, Chocolate Lovers series, Chocoholics series. Those are all along the lines of these books. If you want something that will pull on your heart strings a lot more than these, well then I highly recommend Fisher's Light.
"Can I kiss the girl now?"
This one really has made this trilogy come full circle. The friendship, the coming into their own, then support from the men. It was thrilling to watch the evolution of it all through the three books. I hope you check these out and love this series as much as I do.
I absolutely loved this book!! While I am disappointed I didn’t get to read the first two books before this one, it can be read as a stand-alone. I enjoyed the Disney-esque characters and even how they put Vanessa in the mix. Well written and a great read!
Clever, funny, and more swoony retelling of a classic fairy tale !
Tara Sivec has won my heart over again with this twisted and certainly more grown-up version of "A Little Mermaid" ! It's been awhile since I've come across a story so full of extensive entertaining dialogue filled to the brim with sarcasm and colorful language that left me in a fit of giggles or cheering "hell yeah!".
Ariel is witty, feisty, independent, and hates Eric. Nope, that's a lie. Ariel's head strongly dislikes Eric. Her body, a different story. Ariel doesn't like her traitorous body very much at the moment.
Eric is handsome, established, and definitely holds a soft spot for Ariel. When Ariel gets evicted from her home, her friends conveniently get her set-up with Eric to arrange some temporary living arrangements.
As if things couldn't get worse for Ariel, her ex-husband enters her life again, triggering a slew of bad memories and a spiral downward into low-esteem-ville. When Eric and Ariel's paths inevitably continue to consistently cross, Eric is very perceptive of Ariel's emotional state and he continues to subtly woo her to build her confidence. And this is when I start to fall for Eric. He's just as witty and sarcastic as Ariel, challenging and matching her over-the-top remarks on every level. He doesn't take her bullsh!t, but rather turns the situation around into a swoon-fest that melts her black heart.
“Put me down. I’m too heav—”
“I swear to Christ if you say you’re too heavy, I will walk you out on the deck and toss you overboard,” he mutters angrily, tightening his arms around my back and under my legs as he hugs me tighter to his chest, carrying me like I weigh no more than a feather. “You’re perfect. Everything about you is f**king perfect.”
I loved every minute of it!
Pick up this book! You'll be laughing and swooning and your heart will turn to goo.
You're welcome.
4.5 STARS!!
PS: Although this book is the third in the series, it can be read as a stand-alone. The main characters in the prior books do play secondary character roles, but their backstories are skimmed over, but not too much to include spoilers.

Finally back with our three fairy tale strippers!
This last book is Ariel's. She's the ex antiques dealer who had to give up her shop because her husband left her and she couldn't afford the store anymore. And now she's also kind of homeless! The bank is taking her house and all her beloved antiques. And she has to move in with one of her girls for a while. But she doesn't want to bother their new lives with their new guys. So she kind of ends up living with Eric. The millionaire playboy and one of the bosses of the strip club and the guy she hates most in the world. Even though he smells so good and looks amazing and knows just how to deal with her crazy. But still. We hate him. Right??? And we'll never fall for a charming hot guy never ever again ...
What will happen with Ariel & Eric??
Will we get a happily ever after??
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺

LOL!
The 3rd book was just as adorably funny as the first two!
Those three chicks are hilarious! Ariel, the antique dealer with absolutely NO filter. The prude housewife Cindy. Innocent librarian Belle. They SO don't fit together as best friends, but it works perfectly. And Belle and Cindy are not so innocent and prude as they used to be!!!
Ariel is still not really over her husband leaving her. It's not only that he left her. It's how he treated her all through the marriage ... and she even has to pay alimony!!
And then this hot and amazing-smelling guy comes to the rescue. Ugh. She wants to kill him. But he's helping and he's so sexy and grrr.
It's just adorable the way poor Ariel tries to resist Eric. And just as adorable how he's not at all bothered by what comes out of her mouth or flying towards his head. Because what comes out of her mouth is not really what's in her heart and mind. Too cute those two!
I LOVED every hilarious and adorable and sweet and sexy moment of this book
I SO need Netflix to come and make a show out of this series! ☺
Oh, I have to mention the cover! It's the best one of the three. The first ones were just weird with the guy and girl not interacting... but here we're even touching! Yay!
KISS THE GIRL was the most hilarious & sexy & adorable RomCom! Run to your nearest amazon asap - you need to meet these ladies! And Eric of course ... but HANDS OFF ... he's MINE!☺
If I had to mention something not-so-amazing. Just like the last book - we have this unnecessary drama moment at the 77% mark. All that stupid drama could've been avoided by just talking it out and dealing with it together. But nope. Books never do that. Why? Come up with something new and not always these unnecessary drama stuff moments. Drama is totally ok but give me amazing drama!
STILL 5 STARS 'CAUSE I LOOOVED THE BOOK AND THE EPILOGUEs!!!!! ☺
This is the third and last book of the Naughty Princess series by Tara Sivec, and it was my second book by this author. I was intrigued by the fairytale retelling, and I was waiting for Ariel and Eric's book because they seemed like the characters that I would like the most out of the group of princes and princesses... and I was right.
We all know about Ariel and Eric from The Little Mermaid, and the ones in this book mirror them a bit, but in a modern key. Ariel is a curvy red-head who is known to be sassy. She used to own an antique shop but she had to sell it in order to pay bills and alimony to her ex-husband. She seems like the strongest of the group and the most confident, but the truth is different. After Ariel faces a difficult moment, she loses her way and her tough girl façade falls a bit. Her friends Cindy and Belle, with the help of their boyfriends and their friend Eric, try to save Ariel from the situation and subtly try to pair matchmaker between the two, since they are the only single of the group and they know they like each other. When Ariel has to live with Eric due to circumstances, she starts learning that he isn't like she painted him at all, and he will also discover more of her personality. Eric is just like the fairytale prince: he is rich, good-hearted and sarcastic, and he gets Ariel's weird personality and love for antiques.
I liked this book more than "In bed with the beast" despite the ways in which Ariel and Eric start getting closer are similar. Ariel has to leave her house because she hasn't paid mortgage for a lot of months, and after this it all goes down but Ariel gets back on her feet at some point. Everyone believes that Ariel is the strongest of the princesses of this series, but she also has some insecurities and tries to show others that she is tough when she wants to cry. She is very hard on herself as well, but in the end she evolves into a confident woman who also found the love of her life. I think that the author succeeded in writing a strong female character who doesn't let anybody, any man, direct her life, despite in the past she was bullied by a man (and a woman).
One of the strongest features of this series is the strong female friendship of Cindy, Belle and Ariel. In every book the princesses that aren't the main character are always supportive of each other and their friend, and this is a good thing because I'm sick of those books were the main female character has one friend who appears every once in a while and it's not different if she isn't there or not. In this case, the absence of one of the other princesses would be felt, because Cindy, Belle and Ariel are different women and they all have their quirks, like Belle's love to talk about statistics during ANY conversation. LOL. Or Ariel using curse words and smack some sense into the other two, or Cindy's momma bear control and reasonable voice of the group. I liked the support these women gave to each other, because women should not be against each other but they should help each other. I hope that the author will write a similar series with strong female characters and friendships, because this one was very good.
Besides this, I love the style of this book. Tara Sivec is able to write realistic and relatable dialogues and she made me laugh several times because each character may be a bit sterotyped at times (I think since it's a fairytale retelling, the basic characters are stereotypes themselves), but each has her/his own personality and is essential in the big picture in the end, to make this book "colorful".
If you like romantic comedies, this is a must.
Book 3 in the Naughty Princes Club is Ariel's story.
When Ariel Triton finds herself on the streets and her beautiful antiques going to be sold off, she is devastated. Her two best friends Cindy and Belle are just starting lives with their own new men and she couldn't possibly crash on their couches, but then gorgeous Eric Sailor, the man she cannot stand, steps in and gives her a home and much more than she could ever have imagined.
He loves her potty mouth and her crazy ways and he promises to help get her back on her feet and feel more confident about herself, but what Ariel didn't expect was the many spanners thrown in the works by her forgetfulness with submitting forms and when she comes face to face with Ursula, she lets go with a full mouthful of profanities not knowing that this is one time her mouth will really get her into deep trouble.
A very good Romantic comedy from Tara Sivec.
Thanks to NetGalley and St Martin's Press, Swerve, for the opportunity to read and honestly review this book.
I absolutely loved this book! I have read the entire series, and have adored Ariel from the beginning. Her mouthiness and attitude has always amused me, so having her front and center in this story thoroughly entertained me.
The story begins with Ariel in a difficult situation, and the person she believes is a jerk, Eric, coming to her rescue. Their relationship that builds from a friendly animosity to an amazing love is written so well and builds so genuinely that the reader can't help to fall in love, too. Throughout the change, they never lose who they are, constantly teasing and joking with each other. I laughed out loud as I read; my favorite part being the rant over the tiny house television show.
Revisiting all of the characters from the other 2 books was a bonus as they have been such a wonderful cast of characters. The epilogue did a fantastic job in showing the relationship futures for all 3 women.
I highly recommend this book (as well as the entire series). It includes swoony romance, steamy times, salty language, and lots of laughs and fun. I am only sad that I have finished the series.
The book is laugh out loud, snort so hard you hurt yourself funny. Literally sitting at work trying not to chortle while reading this was one of the toughest things I have ever had to do. It took me about a chapter to really warm up to Ariel, cause she was just obnoxious as all get out. She is loud, crass, and really doesn't give a hoot who likes it. The friggin by play between her and Eric kept me laughing so hard. It was hysterical with a side of steamy times. This was such an original story and I loved every second of this book. This is told in Ariel's pov.
This is book 3 in the Naughty Princess Series. This is actually my first read in the series and by Tara for that matter but I plan on going back and reading the first 2 in the series. I was still able to follow along without reading the other 2 first. This book kept me entertained from beginning to end.
In this book Tara puts a modern day spin on The Little Mermaid. Love the chemistry between Ariel and Eric! It’s a little vulgar, a little sweet and a whole lot sexy...and let’s not forget hilarious! Look forward to reading Cindy’s and Belle’s stories!
I loved Ariel and Eric’s story so much! It’s LOL funny, snarky, sassy, sexy and fun. I don’t normally read these “remakes” of classic fairytales, but I absolutely love everything Tara has written and knew she wouldn’t disappoint. And I was right. I’m sad to see this set come to an end.
I'm still sitting here with a huge smile on my face. Thank you Mrs. Sivec for this great story!
Ariel and Eric will have you laughing out loud at their antics and banter. And we can't forget Derrick Alfredo....
I absolutely loved Ariel's spunk, she is an absolute spitfire and I want to be her friend. Like I really related to all of her feelings and insecurities and wanted to throat punch that douche ex husband of hers too.
If you enjoy laugh out loud stories with relatable characters, and overall great writing, pick up this book as well as the other 2 in the series about Belle and Cindy. You won't regret it!
I really liked this book! Sometimes I don't care for the macho man thing, but Sivec really went home on feminist issues. I'm really happy that she did such a good job making me support these men and women because they were all so respectful of each other. I loved the fairytale aspect of the story. It was hilarious seeing all of the parallels between stories. Eric was amazing and I really liked him. Ariel was kind of annoying, but I got to hand it to her, she's badass. There were a few things that confused me. For example, Eric said Ariel's last name was Waters at some point but at the end he says he'll take her last name "Triton" if they get married. It's just a bit confusing for me. Definitely needs some more editing. All in all, I liked the book. One of the first romance books I could finish in a long time.
I had a hard time relating to the lead characters in this book. This book is the third installation in the Naughty Princess Club series and is billed as a standalone. I did not read the first two books and I felt like I was missing the beginning part of Ariel & Eric's story. I found Ariel's character to be a immature mean girl that cussed constantly and whom behavior could not be easily explained by the verbal abuse she suffered from her poor excuse of an ex husband.
Others have compared this series to the Disney princesses with this book being fashioned after the Little Mermaid, a story I am also not familiar with. That being say I might have enjoyed this book more with a better understanding of the whole series and the story it was based on.
