Kiss the Girl by Tara Sivec

This book was a LOT of fun and I think it may be my favorite of the series! Kiss the Girl is the third book in the Naughty Princess series and I guess you can read it as a standalone, but why would you? You really should read them all to get the full story of these down-on-their-luck stripper princesses.

This is the story of Ariel who has met her Eric and cannot stand even the mere sight of him. She is so damn badass and takes no shit that I’ve decided I want to be her when I grow up. Loved her. Her only shortcoming is that thanks to an emotionally abusive past relationship, she has zero confidence in herself and how she looks. When she’s evicted from her home, Prince Eric comes to the rescue and carries her away to his humble abode/boat where they live happily ever after... wait no. Wrong story. Eric does indeed drag her kicking and screaming and gives her a home on one of his boats till she sorts herself out. Of course, no relationship is without drama and these two deal with their fair share.

I so enjoyed this book. Eric had the patience of a saint and knew exactly how to help Ariel see her worth without driving her to homicide. His and Ariel’s relationship had been a long time coming and it was fun and explosive and just perfect for them. Anything less and it wouldn’t have been true to the characters, particularly Ariel. I love how Sivec throws in the Disney references and I loved Mr Triton.

I think this is the end of the series (although I hope I’m wrong) and I think Sivec did a great job with all of the books. Absolutely recommend these if you love RomComs.

*I voluntarily read an early copy of this book.

This book is s breezy and humorous retelling of the Disney version of The Little Mermaid. Much like the two previous oops in the series, the contemporary heroine has modern problems that are consistent with the
Disney Ariel's struggles. Unlike the Disney Ariel, this one is an unfiltered, fairly foul mouthed, strong woman. She and her friends, Belle and Cindy from the previous books, have become successful entrepreneurs. Nevertheless. Ariel still has to overcome obstacles to “find her voice” and find true love.
The author is clever in creating a modern story from this classic, and fans of the first two books will surely enjoy this one. Reading choices are personal, and something you like one day may not be appealing the next. While I know many will really love this book, and it is certainly well done, I just didn’t care for it. I do love a strong and assertive heroine, but in this story Ariel was mostly just obnoxious. Her friends and her boyfriend overlook her rudeness because the understand her issues. I’m not sure I’m quite so charitable. Eric, her boyfriend who is a prince of a fellow, is completely perfect. In fact, he is so perfectly one dimensional he would probably be invisible if he turned sideways. The secondary characters,,Ursula and Triton, are predictable but add color to the story,
While this book just didn’t do it for me, it is one that I am sure many will love. There is a lot to love about it, and if I read it again next month I may feel differently.

I. Loved. This. Book. It was so good, and the main characters just grabbed me and held one, right until the very end. I loved watching Ariel claim her inner goddess, and Eric just did everything right to make sure she got there.

Fantastic end to the series. I’m sad to be done!

Kiss the Girl is one crazy good read. That is full of humour and charm. As well as being sweet, sexy, entertaining and absorbing. And I loved all the characters, especially the lead two Ariel and Eric. Whose romance was so captivating and full of snark. Thanks mainly to Ariel, who for all her sass and attitude is struggling to believe she is beautiful and worthy thanks to her douchebag dick (Eric's words) Of an ex and I adored how Eric, along with her two best friends Cindy and Belle proved how wrong she was. With sometimes hilarious consequences. Which not only made this story extremely hard to put down, but also extremely relatable and believable too.

As for the epilogue, I loved how it not only rounded off Ariel and Eric's story, but Belle and her beasts, and Cindy and her Prince Charming. And I would definitely recommend this story and series to others. As it is one of the most fresh and funniest I've read in a very long time.

Kiss the Girl was such a fun read! I enjoyed this immensely! Prior to reading this, I hadn't read the first two books in the series but that in no way detracted from the story. I was obviously curious about how Ariel, Cindy and Belle became friends but I was okay with the little tidbits of information thrown in regarding how their business - and friendship - came to be.
Having immediately bought At the Stroke of Midnight and In Bed with the Beast after finishing this, I would highly suggest reading these books in order so you don't feel like you're missing anything crucial - i.e. how Cindy and Belle found their Happily Ever Afters.

I love Ariel's character. She has absolutely no filter and is not afraid to speak her mind - which I loved because almost everything that comes out of her mouth is rude, foul and downright hilarious.
Despite her attitude, Ariel is incredibly loyal. She may appear to be the most confident of the three women but looks can be deceiving. There's no question she is strong but just like Cindy and Belle she has her own past to overcome in order to reach her full potential.
Now on to Eric. I ADORED him. He's perfect for Ariel and the sexual tension between the two of them is off the charts. Despite her initial dislike of him, Eric is the only one who knows exactly what she needs the day her world falls apart around her and he proves to be exactly what she needs to face her fears head on.

What I love most about this series is that while Cindy, Belle and Ariel have all hit rock bottom they refuse to let their pasts define their futures. Despite all they've been through, they manage to not only build strong relationships with the most unlikely people but they've created a business that takes each of them out of their comfort zones. And they're thriving because of it.

This is such a fun series! If you're looking for sexy, hilarious, quick reads I'd highly suggesting giving these books a try.

Man I hate that this is the last book in the series! I had so much fun with these princesses and I absolutely do not want to give them up. The shenanigans that they are always up to will have you laughing out loud. My goodness they were always into something! I knew going in to this book that Eric and Ariel’s relationship was going to be epic. With Ariel being such a stubborn hard ass Eric did not let that deter him from her. In fact he loved her brand of feisty and sassy. He literally would piss her off to make her come out of these funks that she would get in. I loved that he knew her that well. If she was getting down he knew the right way to piss her off to pull her back up.

I don’t want to give too much away but my favorite scene is when Ariel stands up to her ex! She’s got a mean right hook. There were some other issues going on in the book as well. We have a Naughty Princess Club business license issue and that’s where we meet Ursula. You know with a name like that I’m pretty sure you can deduce that she is going to be a problem. I had a feeling of who she was after the bust incident. Oh yea and you cannot forget Derrick Alfredo, the cat that looks like his skin was turned inside out!! Where in the hell does Sivec come up with this stuff?!
Oh and Ariel’s dad, now he’s something else! I would love to see Tara write a story on the Dads. I don’t know who cracked me up more…Ariel or Belle’s dad.

The epilogue pretty much wrapped up the series with a nice pretty bow on top!

Good grief, I have got a serious girl-crush on this book, this series, and this author. I enjoyed the first two books a lot, but this one, it tops them all. I laughed so hard I had tears streaming down my face. Ariel is my absolute favorite kind of character--strong and snarky. She is a princess who can save her own damn self, thank you very much. But it certainly doesn't hurt to have the help of a smokin' hot alpha-dude with a sweet spot for her particular brand of sass, and that's exactly what she gets with Eric. I had so much fun reading this book that the second I was done, I started again. This book is without a doubt one of my favorite reads of the year.

A sincere thank you to NetGalley and St Martin's Press for providing an ARC for review.

A really funny and cute read.

I really liked the references to Disney's Little Mermaid, as this is one of my favorites of the Disney Princesses.

I love Ariel she is so interesting and super sassy. I love her attitude.

Eric is beyond beautiful and funny and I love his gorgeous words.

As a couple - Explosive they really are super well suited.

The whole the series is really worth the read and one after the other is definitely the way to go. The laughs are a plenty and the characters a hoot and a half. I loved the epilogues just enjoyed the tying up of some little loose ends that just gave more to the series as a whole.

All up great series would love more if there is ever the opportunity.

I recieved an arc of this book in exchange of an honest review. This is the third book in the Naughty Princess Club, but can be read as a standalone. Before this book I had not read the first two books of the series. Tara did a good job filling in what I think were important parts of the other two books. This book follows Ariel and Eric in their budding romance. I was initially taken aback by the way Cindy, Belle and Ariel spoke and acted, (I think I was expecting them to be sweet and innocent for some reason?) but soon ended up enjoying their shenanigans. Ariel and Eric's relationship was a slow burn that leaves you feeling satisfied at the end. It was also nice to see Ariel find her voice and become a confident woman. I think I might go back and read Belle's story.

Kiss the Girl by Tara Sivec was a sexy and laugh-out-loud funny story that I absolutely loved. Ariel and Eric's story was full of emotion and hilarious banter.

Sivec did a great job with both Ariel and Eric's characters. I lost count of how many times I burst out laughing at the things that came out of Ariel's mouth. She was so foul-mouthed and sassy, yet lovable at the same time. Once her past was exposed, the reader is given a clear understanding of her personality and what drives her. Eric was surprisingly sweet and so thoughtful and understanding. The way he was with Ariel was so endearing. The two of them were perfect together, but their journey was not without conflict. The author wove a great storyline that really made me believe in their relationship and the feelings that developed between them.

Kiss the Girl was a thoroughly enjoyable story. The writing was great and the plot flowed smoothly. The humorous elements were perfectly balanced with the emotional ones, I am a huge fan of this series and while each book was unique in its own way, I have to say that this one was my favorite. I look forward to reading more of Sivec's work in the future.

Unfortunately this just wasn’t the book for me. I just couldn’t get into it and I didn’t like the MC. I thought she was way too over the top.

I absolutely LOVED this whole series, but I think that this installment was my absolute favorite! I could honestly relate alot to Ariel and what she went thru with her ex husband. Eric was just adorable in every aspect i adored him the whole story and kept me completely interested and hooked til the very end... I wish there was more but I can't wait to see what she's got next!

This is a unique and fun contemporary romance. I truly enjoyed so much about this book, including the Little Mermaid and princess tie in. I loved the friendship between modern era Ariel, Belle, and Cinderella counterparts. I found this to be a fast moving and quick to read story. Although this is the third and final book of The Naughty Princess Club series, my experience is that this can be read as a standalone as I have not yet read the first two books and was able to fall right into the storyline.

As much as there was that I enjoyed, I did greatly dislike Ariel's constant foul language. I found it jarring and distasteful, and it tended to take me out of the story. I think it was used to characterize her as a young woman who had a tough exterior, but it didn't work for me. This may not be an issue for other readers, but it did impact my rating and enjoyment.

Another thing I enjoyed about this book was the creative way that the Little Mermaid characters and storyline were echoed. This wasn't a strict retelling, but there are plenty of cute and recognizable nods to the famous animated movie. It was also fun that while there was so much to recognize about the fairy tale, the main character, Ariel, mentions that her name is the same as "the" princess, so the reader sees the parallels while the characters may or may not. As could be inferred from the "naughty princess" title, there are some fairly explicit scenes and conversations.

Other than a warning for the foul language, I recommend this for mature readers who are willing to suspend disbelief and go along for a unique experience.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by Netgalley)...

We finally have the story of Ariel and Eric and I have to say I wasn’t disappointed. Ariel is still her crazy self but now we learn the truth about her marriage. Now as for Eric, there are truly no words to describe how awesome and swoon-worthy Eric is and I loved him so much. The way he completely understood what Ariel needed and wanted was so sweet. I wanted more Ariel, Eric and definitely more Derrick Alfredo, it was all so entertaining. But it was definitely not smooth sailing for our couple especially with the unexpected arrivals of exes and meddling mamas.

I was so sad when it ended! I wanted more but I did love the epilogues that showed us the future of our Naughty Princesses.

4 Saving Your Own F&@king Self Stars
* * * * Spoiler Free
When you think about all the fairy tales we have been raised on, it is usually the damsel in distress and the man rides in and saves her making it a Happily Ever After. This has been the standard forever. But recently, to quote a 1985 song written by Annie Lennox and David Allan Stewart of Eurythmics and recorded as a duet with American soul/R&B singer Aretha Franklin:

"Now there was a time when we used to say
That behind every great man
There had to be a great woman
But in these times of change
You know that it's no longer true
So we're comin' out of the kitchen
'Cause there's somethin' we forgot to say to you (we say)

Sisters are doin' it for themselves
Standin' on their own two feet
And ringin' on their own bells
Said, sisters are doin' it for themselves"

Yes, Sisters are doin' it for themselves!

This was what The Naughty Princess Club Series was ALL about. Tara Sivec took the stories we grew up with and twisted them into engaging current Cinderella, Beauty and Beast and this last entry, The Little Mermaid.

These books do not have to read in order... yet when they are, they add more punch.

In Kiss the Girl...we have Ariel. She has been the most mouthy and in your face character. She is part of this women trio who all were either trapped by a domineering father or experienced a horrible marriage. Ariel had a husband who over time made her doubt herself and feel as if her body wasn't up to par.

The joke was that Ariel she was amazing in her ability to run her antique business and she actually had a smokin' hot body with a beautiful face. But most of all she had passion and a huge heart. Oh, and she had a mouth that would shock the most corrupt sailor....

Yes, Ariel had No Shame in her Game... in fact that was her way of fronting and not letting anyone know she might have something to be insecure about. She was a constant in your face type of gal with sarcasm and cutting humor galore.

These woman had created this home stripping business out of shock and necessity. They each divided the responsibilities and Ariel was doing all of the paperwork...

But things got out of sorts because Ariel was having a tough time recognizing how serious her financial situation was... she had turned a blind eye not wanting to deal with the foreclosure of her home. She already had to close her antique store and the idea of losing all of her things she had in her home was too much. She had tried to get a roommate and had made a few payments...

Yet, when Ariel ends up coming home after a day with the gals who were trying to cheer her up, the sheriffs are there ready to impound her house. Her friends call in re-reinforcements, their new boyfriends and Eric, the co owner of the strip club.

Eric Sailor is a man who knows what he wants...and what he wants is Ariel. From the first moment they crossed paths and she told him to F@#k off, he was smitten. He loved her passion, her fire and the woman who was in his face. Eric felt drawn to her and decided then and their he was going to wait and find his moment to pursue her.

Seeing his in-his-mind-woman so defeated and lost, Eric knew how to get her moving. He started immediately pushing her buttons to get her pissed instead of meek. By doing that, he was able to get her to figure out what she needed to save out of her house. Little did Ariel know, she was going to move into one of the yachts he had in the harbor.

These two start to have this relationship that Ariel doesn't understand. She first thought she hated Eric... he was too arrogant, too full of himself and way to handsome with dimples, no less...But over time, he begins to break down her walls and build up her self esteem.

This story was the last of the series and in many ways it has become a favorite of the readers. For me, the main draw was Eric...I would like one of him PLEASE. STAT! He had everything going for him and how he took his time with Ariel was perfect...

Ariel was a special type of woman. She was someone who was in your face almost 24/7. I found her fun and quick for a lot of the time... but there was a point where it was a lot, too. I got who she was and appreciated all she had gone through. I wanted her to have the HEA she thought she wasn't going to have... and was thrilled when everything came together.

The book has a perfect epilogue for this current fairy tale series and Tara Sivec has made a terrific name for herself.

Very sad to see the last of the Naughty Princess Club trilogy! Can we please get some more fiercely independent and foul-mouthed princesses to join the club?
He has dimples. Dimples make women stupid, and I refuse to be stupid over a man ever again.
Ariel may be the fiercest of the founding Naughty Princesses but Eric takes the cake as the sweetest. This is a guy who clearly adores Ariel for all of her crazy quirks and hair trigger temper. Ariel's constant need to battle the world was at times exhausting but Eric remained a cheerful constant as he encouraged her to find her self-confidence again. I think I fell in love with Eric when he joined in Ariel's GATTACA! GATTACA! war cry and it just got better and better (hello, GOGA).

Of all three Naughty Princess Club novels, this one really turned the Disney fairy tale on its ear. Every critical character is there: Ariel, Eric, Sebastian (not a good guy!), Flounder (all ten of them!), Ursula (boo), and best of all, King Triton (love Ariel's dad). Even with the steamy scenes and laugh=out shenanigans, the most appealing part of this final installment was the underlying theme of empowerment. Go girl power! I loved the line about the three princesses who saved themselves, while slaying in stilettos, and like I said before, there needs to be more naughty princesses who save and slay.

I am new to Tara Sivec and I honestly don’t know why. This was such an entertaining read! It was a laugh out loud funny romantic comedy with plenty of good story line and hot sexy times. I mean seriously, that lap dance was hot, hot, hot!! Love this real world take on the fairy tale! Eric and Ariel’s back and forth is just hysterical and their chemistry is crazy hot even if at first it seems Ariel would never consider Eric to be anything more than an annoyance. But he works his charm and his way under her skin and into her heart in the most unsuspecting sweetest ways. I love the friendship between Ariel, Belle and Cindy and definitely need to read their stories now as well.

Thank you to Netgalley for this ARC!

Warning you all - do not read any part of this book in a place where you cannot freely laugh, giggle, snort, cheer, shed a few tears, and swoon! These emotions will catch you off guard, and unexpectedly, so not part of this book is safe, trust me

Ariel is loud, brash, upfront, forthright, and determined to make it on her own. She projects confidence, authourity, and an overabundance of strength and determination. These are all the things Ariel wants to be, and her sarcasm helps her achieve them. They also are a front, and she is clearly faking it until she can make it. She will achieve these items on her own, no man, no matter how good he smells, or the goosebumps she breaks into around him, will give her these things

Eric fell for Ariel, in all her glory, the moment he met her. There isn't anyone else for him, and when he has an opportunity to make her his, he doesn't hesitate. He doesn't want to give Ariel anything, he wants to be by her side while he achieves her goals and becomes her own woman. A few roadblocks, mostly set be Ariel, are in his way, but nothing is going to stop him from getting his princess

There is a lot of yelling and name calling in this book, but once you get to the why's, it becomes endearing, and softer, sweeter. The epilogue brings this perfectly together, with all our Princess' getting their happily ever afters, just what they need, different for them each. At the core, as always, the three strong woman who were down, but not out, and found their strength and independence in each other. Now, when Anastasia grows up.......

Kiss the Girl (The Naughty Princess Club, #3) by Tara Sivec This is third and final book in THE NAUGHTY PRINCESS CLUB series. Thanks to #NetGalley for allowing me to preview this book. Ariel Waters has a louse of an ex who she is paying alimony to who also has used verbal and mental abuse to put her down. She has lost her antique store and more because of him. Eric Sailor is a millionaire playboy who comes to her rescue... There are so many feelings... laughter, tears, romance, angst, close friends and very hot steamy sex. We get to reconnect with Cindy and PJ, Belle and Vincent and Belle's daughter which is fun and lets not forget Derrick.. All this and some great HEA's.

I did have a few issues with this novel. Overall, it wasn't too bad. I'm not sure I would recommend it unless I know the person really likes Disney or is into erotica--there really isn't too much sex in it now that I think about it.

This is Book three of The Naughty Princess Club. I felt that I needed to go back and read the first two book before this one since I spent the entire first two chapters completely lost. I struggled with figuring out the characters and their roles within the novel. The overly used Disney princess theme was overkill. All the characters in the series are characters from Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and Little Mermaid. Kiss the Girl is a spiff off of Little Mermaid. The main character is a sassy, attitudal Ariel who has self confidence issues due to her verbally abusive ex-husband, Sebastian. With the help of her friends, Belle and Cindy, Ariel is creating the Naughty Princess Club where a client can order a stripper for a home show. Ariel is the only one of the three who has yet to schedule a show or step foot on Charming's Gentlemen Club stage.

Eric knew from the moment he met Ariel that she was perfect for him. He wanted to spend the rest of his life with this sassy redhead with a mouth that would put a sailor to shame. Eric Sailor knows the sailor he would like her to shame--too bad Ariel doesn't have any of her self-confidence. Eric is going to help her with that. She is too precious and gorgeous not to. He doesn't show her with compliments instead he yells at her when she's in the midst of getting evicted from her foreclosed home with all her precious antiques. He doesn't put up with her crap either. He gives it as good as she dishes it.

Ariel met her match when Eric's mother, Ursula asks to meet. Ursula, who is the head of the business council and personally told Ariel that her business license was denied. Ursula also invited Vanessa, Eric's childhood friend who Ursula wanted to be Eric's wife--Vanessa also resembles Ariel.

But the cliches don't stop here--Cindy's daughter Anastasia records Ariel's meltdown on Snapchat. Cindy's boyfriend, PJ (Princeton James Charming) helps pick the three girls up after Ariel's meltdown after breaking up with Eric the day after the lunch with Ursula.

Oh and Eric's family owns a yacht business--Eric loves boats. The story had a bit too much Disney in it for me especially since the three women have a stripping business. Back to the storyline. Eric does slowly bring Ariel's confidence back so much so that she is able to confront not only her ex--but also Ursula.
