It took me a long time to warm up to Ariel. She is a foul-mouthed grouchy woman who has had some hard times. OK, I get it that her ex-husband is a jerk, but her family and friends love and support her, and her new man is a keeper. Maybe she just needs to move on? I did like the way Ariel and her business partners made a case for their unconventional business.
Absolutely loved this fairy tale retelling of the Little Mermaid. I always think that it takes a very talented author to pull of this type of book and Tara has done an outstanding job of it.
I loved Ariel & Eric together. Ariel wasn't looking for any type of relationship, but the world had a different plan for her. Things beyond her control bring her and Eric together. And from then on, them being together just made sense.
This is a wonderfully written book, and as I have not read the previous two books, it is something that I am definitely going to rectify.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book
Quirky Rom=Com. The latest in the Naughty Princess Club. A fun relaxing read about the craziness of life, love and paying debt.
Have you ever started a series and just known you could count on it to make you smile and laugh?! When I was looking for rom-com recommendations, a book buddy suggested The Naughty Princess Club. I went for it and haven’t looked back since!
Kiss the Girl was exactly the book I had hoped for from this series of comical, sexy standalones with a twist on fairytales. Tara Sivec won me over quickly in the first book, and now, she has a fan! I love her easy going style, and her humor is totally natural.
This is a contemporary romance that has touches of The Little Mermaid. That’s one of the things I enjoy about this series — seeing how the plot parallels that of the fairytales that inspire them. I adore romantic comedies and fairytales, so this is truly “my cup of tea.”
I never quite got enough of Ariel in the first two books of The Naughty Princess Club; she’s always been my favorite of the “princesses.” I love how feisty and quirky she is! She is smart and fierce, despite a less-than-ideal situation.
Not going to lie, I’m a massive sucker for a good hate-to-love romance, and that’s exactly what we got here! Gah Eric is just a doll, even though he annoys Ariel. Like any trope, it needs to be done right, and Sivec does this justice!
Overall, I would absolutely recommend Kiss the Girl (and the rest of The Naughty Princess Club series)! Fans of contemporary romance, rom-coms, and retellings will especially love this one!
The last in the series and I am already hoping and praying for some new princesses to be added to the mix. The last in the series was probably the most engaging of the three too- it had a ton of ups and downs, some of the sweetest gestures in a book, and of course very sexy moments. I look forward to more from the author.
I enjoyed this story overall, but at times Ariel was just aggravating...even though I know that was part of the reason the story worked well. Story line was well written.
LOVEEDDDDDDD. Im slightly obsessed with The Little Mermaid So when I saw this book i had to have it! This book is a new take on classic princess books. This book was so witty and charming. you see strong female leads finding their own voice!
Kiss the Girl by Tara Sivec is the third book in the Naughty Princess Club series. We met the three "Princesses" in the first book, At the Stroke of Midnight, yet that was Cindy's story. Belle's story was told in the second book, In Bed with the Beast, and this is Ariel's story. These characters are loosely based on the fairytale princesses, but this series has our princesses stripping, drinking and yes falling in love. Ariel is the snarkiest of the trio and has quite a mouth on her, so be prepared for some vulgar language as well as some descriptive sex scenes. Having said all that, I did enjoy the stories about these three ladies.
Ariel is the last of the trio to begin stripping. As this story unfolds, we see the real Ariel, her previous heartbreak and how it effected her self-esteem. This story finds Ariel being evicted from her home and losing all her beloved antiques. Eric Sailor, the man Ariel has loved to hate since the first book, comes to her rescue and sets her up on one of the yachts that he owns. In this book, he wants to prove to Ariel that he loves her and wants a relationship with her. True to the fairy tale references, there is an Ursula in this story who is Ariel's adversary and we meet her father, Mr. Triton, the Car King, lovingly referred to as C-King. This is Ariel’s chance to find love and a happy ever after. It is not a smooth ride, but it is a fun one.
Tara Sivec has written a series that combines humor, sexiness, and sass all with a fairy tale connection. This is not the normal read for me, but with the added message of female empowerment and not letting yourself become dependent on a man. It is okay to use your feminine wiles and sexuality on your own terms to take care of yourself and your loved ones. If you enjoy a fun, romantic, sassy, creative and sexual story, then pick up this series and enjoy. The publisher, St. Martin's Press, generously provided me with a copy of this book to read and review. The rating, opinions and ideas shared are my own.
Tara Sivec’s Kiss the Girl is fresh, laugh out loud, touching and sexy all rolled up in this new take on a classic fairy tale you won’t want to miss!
In the previous books in the series Sivec wrote original retellings of Cinderella and the Beauty and the Beast in which the heroines not only take charge of their lives by starting a stripping business, but also find true friendship and love. With Kiss the Girl, Sivec takes on Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid. In this fun, sexy, touching and romantic version which Ariel Waters not only lost self-confidence because of her ex-husband, she’s also about to lose her house and antiques due to the alimony she has to pay him.
Ariel is never going to trust much less fall for man ever again, especially no the likes of charming rich flirt Eric Sailor who irritates and excites her in equal measures. When the bank comes to reposes her house and valuables, she finds herself saved by Eric’s understanding and caring support as no one else knows how to snap her out of her shock.
As Eric keeps showing up to help her, they both get to know one another and Ariel is finally able to see the good man behind the lady-killer façade and into the man who not only understands and makes her laugh, but the who sees the real her and loves her deeply. Just like in the fairy tale though, an evil witch is set on keeping them apart. But besides Eric’s love, Ariel can also count on the unconditional support of her best friends.
You can’t help but love Sivec’s characters who are the modern incarnations of the fairytale, we even have Ariel’s father who’s a real hoot and delightfully compliments the trio’s crazy. I absolutely loved this story which perfectly complements the previous two.
Kiss the Girl is book #3 of the Naughty Princess Club series by author Tara Sivec. It is a standalone romantic comedy that will make you laugh and swoon. Told from the heroine’s point of view with a fairytale happy ending.

To be completely honest, Ariel's story was the one I wanted to read the least. What a mistake that was!
Strong, defiant, ball-busting Ariel. She takes no crap, gives a rash of crap to others, has attitude for days, yet is loyal and dependable. One of the three Naughty Princesses, Ariel is the only one who isn't performing. Eric Sailor is the millionaire playboy who never wastes the opportunity to shower attention on Ariel. Funny enough, she doesn't want his attention, and the sparks just fly!
I really enjoyed this whole series, but Kiss the Girl has quickly become my favorite of the three. This story is relatively deep: it plays a lot with body issues, touches on verbal and emotional abuse, and finding oneself after losing oneself in a terrible relationship. There are humorous moments, and sweet moments, and super sexy moments. Overall, though, this story is about a woman finding her power. Not only finding her power, but finding the posse to help her harness her power!
I love this story, I love Eric and Ariel, and I will always love The Naughty Princess Club.

This is the third book in the series, and I would definitely recommend that you read them in order as the underlying story is ongoing, as well as the romances carrying forward and being important to the next book. If you have a love of Disney Princesses, then reading this irreverent take on three of their most famous and popular ones will be a real hoot. They are clever, fun, sweet, and sexy. I have loved it every time a name has been used that ties back to the original story – but don't be fooled, these are not rewrites, just clever nods. I am assuming you have read the earlier ones in my review.
I think that Ariel was my least favourite of the three, as she is introduced as one of Cindy's husband's flings and also, she has not been prepared to join the other Naughty Princesses on stage/party yet. But actually, as we get to know and understand her, she became the very best of all of them and had me laughing and shedding a tear. She has really had a rough time of it and deserves all the happiness she can find – even if there seem to be forces about who think otherwise.
A lot of the humour is in the descriptions of her actions, and Tara Sivec is the mistress of the funny set-up. From the fish tank rescue, to the karaoke, to the presentation to the Board, we can envisage exactly what is going on, thanks to the clever writing.
Do yourself a favour and get this set of three books, set yourself up in a quiet spot, and have a really good read. Good for the soul!

A fitting conclusion to this series. In learning Ariel's true story, we see the true Ariel, the one she's kept hidden from everyone, including her closest friends. She's hid her demons and problems from the world, not wanting people to see her as weak or lacking in self-confidence, which is exactly how she feels.
She let a man take advantage of her and it’s cost her everything: her pride, self-esteem, and the business she loved. Now she's homeless and having to rely on the kindness of the one man who aggravates her to no end: Eric Sailor.
Eric's not a bad guy – he's just a guy and she's done trusting me. After all, the last time she trusted a man, he betrayed her and cost her home and antiques.
Ariel is a character I could really relate to – she expressed her feelings in ways many of us would: loudly and proudly. Then she would semi-regret her outburst but only because it may have hurt people she cared about. The things she said had lots of truth in them, and it seemed the only way she could express herself would be to yell, otherwise she felt as though her voice couldn't be heard.
Another funny story by Tara Sivec. Ariel's story explores regaining trust after a bad relationship has beaten you down. H was great, liked how kept at it. I also liked seeing the other princesses from the other books. This is the third book in the series and can be read as a standalone (you won't be lost), but the first book was pretty awesome, so you may want to read them in order. Overall, a very good story. *I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and this is my voluntary and honest review.
This is my first book by this author, and what a great way to jump into reading her. Ariel is so feisty and you will be cracking up and crying with her in the first few pages. Cracking up at her antics and personality, crying for the situation. Of course Ariel is loud and fun and dramatic...Eric is calm, cool and collected.
Ariel is the brains behind the business with her friends, but Eric helps Ariel in more ways then 1. I love the banter, the humor, the sadness I feel for how Ariel really feels, and happiness for how this entire book turns out!
5 Hilariously Smart Stars
Ariel is the third friend who started the Naughty Princess Club with her friends Cindy and Belle. Eric Sailor knew he wanted Ariel the first time he met her in PJ's club. But Ariel was still dealing with emotional baggage left behind from her divorce and unwilling to get involved with another man who could break her heart. So her defense mechanisms went up and all she could do was throw barbs at Eric.
When Ariel looses everything, Eric uses this opportunity to get close to her by offering her one of his yachts to live on as long as she needed. With Eric's subtle help, she gains her confidence back even as her ex-husband Sebastian comes back into the picture throwing some of her progress backwards.
Soon Ariel is no longer fighting the feelings she has for Eric, but she has an even bigger fight on her hands. Bigger than her ex-husband, bigger than the possibility of loosing the license for the Naughty Princess Club business... and it comes if the form of Ursula.
I thought this one was crazy funny. There were times I laughed so hard I cried. I loved Ariel's colorful language and way of speaking. I thought she and Eric were great for each other. I loved how the epilogue was a wrap-up of the stories for all three of the girls stories. I'm going to miss how funny they were.
KISS THE GIRL is the tale of Ariel Winters and her struggle to find her own voice - a great use of the literal vs figurative storyline of the Little Mermaid. Part of the Naughty Princess Club series, it follows the story of three women (Cinderella, Belle, and Ariel) who find their strength by creating an at-home stripping business as they find their princes and happily ever afters. It
was my first read from the Naughty Princess Club, and I'm always happy to find new authors to follow, so the email offering an abscess copy was definitely welcome.
Honestly, I struggled to get into this book... Ariel was unlikable... bad choices, constant swearing, treating people badly and being allowed to do it... I ended up leaving it for a bit and coming back. Not sure if it was a change in my mood when I returned or improved story (or both), but I enjoyed it more when I tried again.
Having the characters in various roles based on their personalities was cute. Ariel's personal growth was needed and developed sometimes in spite if herself. I enjoyed Eric's character the most and thankfully he was a smart and supportive character. The expected conflict was done well and I was happy with how it was handled - I hate when conflict is contrived and could be resolved with a simple conversation. Thankfully this was dealt with well!!
I appreciate the chance to read this - it's a new genre for me - but not one that is my favorite which likely colors my review. It was a light read and I'm sure will be loved by those who enjoyed the previous books in the series.
Thanks to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this.
Did not finish. I got through around 10 pages before I put it down. I was not a fan of the characters, the tone of voice the book had and the writing. It wasn't my cup of tea. But I do recommend it to those who love humorous romance novels!
This is a cute, funny book that gave me lots of laughs. I haven't read the first two books yet, but I need to.
This was a really cute Little Mermaid retelling. The humor was good without veering into over-the-top category and I found the Little Mermaid references to be fun and not overdone as well. I should probably say that I am a huge fan of the Disney version of The Little Mermaid so much so that my brother cannot watch it to this day. He says I watched it too many times as a kid and he still knows it by heart. As far as the romance, it was sweet with little conflict which was exactly what I was looking for in this type of book. I'm looking forward to checking out the other books in the series.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
Kiss the Girl is book three in the Naughty Princess Club series by Tara Sivec.
This was such a fun, lighthearted, series about girl power, friendship, and fairy tales. I loved each book, but Ariel's was my favourite!
If you haven't started this series yet, DO IT. I've read all three books, and they're just the right blend of happy, sass, and sexy!
Kiss the Girl was hands down hilarious. There were multiple points in the book that had me laughing out loud. This is a total chick lit book, and I loved it.
I had quite an interesting experience with Tara Sivec's Kiss the Girl. I have a feeling that this is going to be more of a chit chat type of review.
Before I read Kiss the Girl, I read one other book from Tara. I remember everyone raving about Seduction & Snacks, so of course I had to experience Tara's wild writing style for myself. And if I recall correctly, I loved it. When I saw Kiss the Girl, I thought it was about damn time I read another one of Tara's books. Plus a naughty princess? Uh, hello! Why have I not heard of this series before? So I happily dived right on in...
Now here's where the weirdness came in... Well, the first weirdness. I wasn't enjoying the book. I didn't gel with Ariel's over-the-top personality. There were a few moments where we totally butt heads. I loved Eric and the rest of the gang. Part of me wanted to put it down, but something told me to keep reading. And so I did... It took a few chapters for Ariel to stop grating my nerves and once she did, I was hooked. I loved Tara's hysterical writing style. I loved the sexiness of it. I loved Eric's kindness. Once I got over whatever was holding me back, I couldn't put the book down.
Now fast forward a couple days when my friend Ezrah and I are at Disneyland. I wasn't thinking about the book until Ezrah brought it up as we were walking to the front gates. I was telling her my thoughts on it and we talked about how both of us wanted to read the rest of the series. Upon entering the park, who is the first princess we see? Yep, Ariel. Thank god Eric wasn't with her because I would have been imaging some naughty bits while in the Happiest Place on Earth.
So there you have it... While I loved Kiss the Girl, it almost got me into trouble at Disneyland.
