Kiss the Girl wasn't my first Tara Sivec book, but it was the first book in the Naughty Princess Club series that I read. I hadn't read them because the blurbs and covers didn't really appeal to me. But I love the other stuff I've read by the author, so I decided to give this one a shot. I am SO glad I did! It was so cute how Ms. Sivec was able to incorporate the princess stories from my childhood into modern day romance. Ariel was a feisty, independent woman that I LOVED. Eric has a reputation as a man whore, but I found him funny and refreshing. I loved their witty banter and their attraction to one another. I will definitely be reading the other books in this series. I need to see how their business came about.

4.5 stars! Tara Sivec is the Queen of Absurd Romantic Comedy (it's a thing!) and she has done it again with her third installment in The Naughty Princess Club series. I don't know how she comes up with such hilarity (#DerrickAlfredo) but her books always leave me in stitches. I love how Kiss the Girl brought the whole gang together for beautiful happy endings- what a great series wrap up!

This book is funny and sexy and full of girl power.. Eric is sneaky is his pursuit of hot tempered Ariel. Now I need to read the rest of this series.

Book #3 the Naughty Princess Club did not disappoint! So far Cindy found her Prince. Belle found her Beast. Now we get to Ariel!

Ariel is crass and loud and likes to push people's buttons.  All the better to hide her fear and insecurities after her ex-husband has taken her money and self-respect.

Her day takes a really bad turn when the Sheriff shows up to evict her from her home.  It is now owned by the bank along with her precious antiques.  That it all happened in front of her friends and nemesis, Eric Sailor, is humiliation overload.

Eric has been nothing but snark thus far. A rich and handsome playboy that does as he pleases.  It was so good to finally get a full picture of who Eric is as a person.

Denying the off the chart attraction Ariel feels for Eric is difficult. Then instead of his trademark antagonism, he shows her kindness in her hour of need. It tilts their relationship in the other direction.

Of course, the road to love is never smooth.  There are situations going on that could stop this budding love affair in its tracks.  Whether these two can get it together remains to be seen.

I laughed out loud so many times while reading this book! Eric is just EVERYTHING!  Ariel who? I want him for myself.

Tara Sivec is bubbly, bright and so much fun. This series gave me her essence within its pages. It was such a refreshing new take on a tale as old as time with modern twists. Each book was an absolute delight and I gleefully wait to see what Tara pulls out of the bag of tricks next time

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher.

This is the third and final book in the Naughty Princess Club. These stories have been so cute to read. Kiss the Girl is the much awaited story of Ariel and Eric. Yes, you guessed it. The characters in this series are based off favorite Disney Princesses.

Ariel is a ball busting business woman we've all been waiting to see how her story turns out. She gives Eric zero slack. He just eats it right up.

What made me pause in this story was the simpering girl Ariel turned into when her ex-husband turns up in town. She's a totally different person. Not the Ariel we love that's for sure.

Oh! Let me add that Ariel's dad makes an appearance in this book. OMG! He's hilarious. You just have to shake your head at the man.

Kiss the Girl is a great ending to this series. I liked that the author put updates of all three characters in the end of this book as well so you know what's going on with all the couples tying it all together.

Having read and LOVED the first two books in the series, I was DYING with excitement when I got the KISS THE GIRL widget in my email. Ariel was the character I was most looking forward to because, oh my goodness, she is so foul-mouthed I can’t help but love a girl after my own heart. I think Tara Sivec did an amazing job of balancing Ariel’s crass attitude and vulnerability. Like all women, no matter our facade we all have weaknesses and pasts and people who have hurt us. Even us loud-mouthed obnoxious women who swear like sailors have hearts and feelings and insecurities. It felt very relatable and I couldn’t help but find a few parallels between myself and the heroine. The romance was both heartfelt and snarky. The swoons evoked by Eric and all the subtle ways he showed Ariel he loved her and valued her melted my cold, black heart.

My other favorite part of this book and series as a whole are the friendships between Cindy, Belle, and Ariel. Those girls have each other’s BACK, you guys! They are sassy and defensive and ready to jump through fire to defend their friends and help them. Love love loved this! And the nods and parallels to the original fairy tale and how Sivec made it applicable to a present day story was incredibly clever, per usual. This crazy amazing balance of fairy tale throwbacks and female empowerment gave me life.

READ THIS IF…you love Disney princesses, female friendships, snarky heroines and the men who worship them.

A-freaking-mazing! Tara never ever fails to amaze me or make me laugh hysterically. I knew I loved Ariel just from seeing her in the first two books. A great conclusion to the Naughty Princess Club - I'm going to miss these characters!

Kiss the Girl is the third and final book in the The Naughty Princess Club series by the Queen of RomCom, Tara Sivec, and may I say, this book is everything. I could not stop laughing. I love the twist when it comes to taking Fairytale characters, bringing them into a modern light, and letting out their adult personalities. Added to the fact that three characters in the books are running their own stripper service after they each fall on bad times, it’s perfection. Tara Sivec has the perfect line to explain the series. They are "three princess who saved themselves, while slaying in stilettos."

"Piss off. I'm not difficult. I'm a fucking delight."

So I have always loved the Disney version of The Little Mermaid mainly because the original version, she sort of gets shafted and I always felt bad for her. The fact that Tara made me see Ariel in a whole new light is the reason why I continue to be one of her Tara’s fans. Ariel (the book version, not the movie), is this brash, almost harsh and abrasive, foul mouthed, tell it like it is, person and it is absolutely hysterical. First off, how did I never think of Ariel as being a hoarder? She has a collection of antiques in a house filled to the brim with these things and until I read this, I never saw the movie and was like “this girl has a hoarding problem” until now. I just love her spouting “I hate people” and all the wonderful f-bombs throughout the entire book. But behind this hot headed and foul mouthed woman, lies a girl that lacks self confidence in herself and the story follows her getting that back with the help of Eric and her fellow princess/business partner friends who help draw it out of her that she is a beautiful and good person.

"You think you have to be this hard-ass, independent woman who can take care of everything on her own, but you don't. You have people around you who love you and want to help you, especially Eric."

Now I’m not going to lie, it took me a bit to like Ariel but I also think it was because it took the character a bit to like herself too. While she never stops the swearing and anger issues (I died laughing over the Tiny House rant because I feel the same way), she just becomes so much more by the end of the book. The fact that Eric sees what she has under that rough interior and tries to bring it to the surface, while she is completely oblivious to it, made me love these characters.

I so hope she does more Fairytale mashups, even if it’s an entirely different series because I am so down for it.

*4.5 Naughty Princess Stars*

This is the 3rd and final book in this simply brilliant series by Tara and my favourite of the series. I have loved every book and her fun take on Disney Princesses. But in true Tara fashion these Disney Princesses are now Strippers!!

Eric and Ariel are enemies to lovers. Their story honestly had me laughing so much I got strange looks from my family. Ariel is someone who grows on you as she can be quite rude. Eric is totally lovely and swoon-worthy and puts up with so much from Ariel and he takes it!

If you are looking for a fun and witty book then this is the one for you. Whilst it can be read as a standalone, I would however recommend reading the books in this series in order as they do overlap, plus you will enjoy these stories of these 3 women more.

I love love LOVED Kiss the Girl. I’ve been waiting for Ariel’s story since shortly after meeting her in At the Stroke of Midnight and it was totally worth the wait. Now don’t get me wrong, I love Cindy and Belle’s books too, but Ariel’s sassy self intrigued me and I couldn’t wait to see what happened with the sparks really started flying between her and Eric.

I don’t read all that many retellings these days, but the Naughty Princess Club hooked me from the very start. I loved these characters and the setting, the laughs and the romance. It’s been a long time since I read a book that made me laugh as much as the three in this series did. As much as I loved the romance, I loved the friendships between the ladies just as much. Forget your frienemies books, give me all the books with great female friendships. Cindy, Belle and Ariel were each fantastic in their own way and a force to be reckoned with when they banded together. The men of the Naughty Princess Club series were no slouches either. It’s possible Eric is my favorite, but I don’t want to say that too loudly as I loved the other guys, too.

Kiss the Girl was everything I wanted in a book and more. I literally laughed out loud more times than I can count. But, I also had a fair number of feels along the way. There was a lot more to Ariel than what you see on the outside and I appreciated the vulnerability underneath her hard exterior. My feels had feels of their own more than once or twice along the way. Ariel and Eric had oodles of chemistry and I enjoyed their “hate” to love relationship. Did I mention it was sexy, too? Because it was. Like I said, perfect book.

Now that I consider myself a Tara Sivec fangirl, I need to make time to tackle her backlist. I’m not sure why I waited so long to read any of her books, but now I want to read them all. It should be a really fun book binge when I get around to it.

FAVORITE QUOTES

“I do not have a boyfriend and I will never have a boyfriend. Stop trying to get me on the boyfriend train just because you found the one guy in the entire world who is sweet and romantic and loves you for who you are.”

“Piss off. I’m not difficult. I’m a fucking delight.”

My love for antiques wasn’t something I was born with. It showed up in my life at a time when I needed something to make me happy. I couldn’t rescue myself, so I rescued things.

“Did you know that out of the one thousand two hundred and thirty-five romance books we carry at the library, six hundred and seventy of them are about a romance between neighbors? That’s a startling statistic. You should love thy neighbor, Ariel. It says so in the bible.”

“The fact that you got paired up with a goat named Princess Sassy Pants who is giving you a run for your money in the attitude department is nothing but pure enjoyment for me.”

You are the rarest antique I’ve ever seen, and I want to spend the rest of my life making sure you know how perfectly imperfect and extraordinary you are.

This is the first book I've read in the Naughty Princess Club series. It was cute, funny and tad over the top but perfect for the story line! Eric is as dreamy as ever! Ariel is a sassy mouthed carb eating goof! The two are put in an unforeseen circumstance that could make or break them! I enjoyed this cute adult version of my favorite childhood movie.

Meeting Ariel and Eric was a bit different and refreshing. They are the first couple that I have met in this series. I look forward to getting know more of the other two couples and seeing this all from the beginning. I had so much fun with Eric and Ariel. At time I found her to be a challenge, but then I look at the stress and strife in her life. And what lead her to the decisions she made. She needed someone in her life that understood that and with Eric I think he saw a lot more of her than she was comfortable showing to her club members.

This story was reminiscent of the Disney Fairytale, but that was about the depth of it. This princess was in no way sweet, meek, proper, or overly respectful. Ariel was foul mouth, short tempered and a bit of a rebel, but that was all a mask. There were further depths to Ariel. Eric was strong and wiling to see past all that Ariel threw out there for others to see.

It takes a person strong of character and self-confidence to see past the facade that Ariel put in place. There was a strong cast of characters and friendships. I very much enjoyed this read and would most certainly read it again. Preferably after I have read the other two. I was swept up in a fun afternoon of entertainment.

4.5 stars - This book was hilarious!

"Your sarcasm and take-no-shit attitude makes me hard."

Ariel Waters is a foul-mouthed, sassy woman with a ton of attitude to match her emotional baggage. When she's evicted from her home and separated from her beloved antiques, she's cornered into accepting help from the annoying but goosebump-inducing Eric Sailor. He then proceeds to show her that she's more than capable of falling in love again.

"I want to see the bruises on my skin to remember how wanted and beautiful Eric makes me feel every time he looks at me and touches me."

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was funny and sexy. It was about friendship, girl power, and self-empowerment.

Ariel is such a snarky creature but lurking under her caustic facade is an emotionally damaged woman, fighting to rediscover her self-confidence. Eric is hot AF and incredibly swoony! I adored him! He was patient, thoughtful, protective, and had a great sense of humour. I loved his approach to Ariel. They had fantastic chemistry and I loved their banter. Fab read!

I’m so in love with this series, just like when I was a little girl falling in love with the clean version of happily ever afters. Ariel is my favorite character in this series. I loved reading about what made her into the sassy princess that she is and seeing her vulnerable side. Eric was a perfect prince, patient and charming. I was really surprised with the turn of events and I loved how all the women banded together to be a fierce team. I hope there are more fairytales to come.

I can’t get over the creativity of The Naughty Princess Series by Tara Sivec . While you don’t have to, I highly suggest you read the books in order. I loved At The Stroke of Midnight, but I never saw Cinderella, so I didn’t catch all the clever little details Tara worked in. I recently saw the live action Beauty and the Beast, so when I read In Bed with The Beast I was really able to pick out all the inventive similarities in Belle’s book. Well, being a mom of boys, and already an adult when The Little Mermaid came out, I never saw that movie either. Sadly it is in the Disney Vault, so I had to work for it but finally borrowed a copy from a friend. I am SO GLAD I did because I just can’t get over all of the adorable similarities that Tara worked into Kiss The Girl .

"Fairy tales don’t happen in real life. Shit. Forget I said that. They happened to both of my friends. Let’s just say they don’t happen to me and I’m fine with that. F-I-N-E, fine."

Ariel is the tough, brash, wild one of the three women who open an at-home stripping business together. I’ve said it from the beginning, this series is like Bad Moms meet Disney Princesses (even though only one is a mom).

{Photo of Bad Moms}

See the one on the right? Well, that would be Ariel.
“Then for the love of God, why in the actual fuck are you calling me? Hang up and text me like a normal person or I will slit your throat.”

This is typical Ariel, and Eric is totally into the prickly beauty. Ariel ‘hates’ him, yet she has a tough time not smelling him and getting goosebumps when he’s around.
"I am not a woman who needs to be saved by a man. I am not a woman whose heart goes all aflutter when a hot guy shows her attention. Especially a hot guy like Eric, with his annoying flirting and boy-next-door charm."

But when her house gets foreclosed on with all of her precious antiques inside, Ariel’s tough exterior starts to crack, and Eric Sailor was right there to pick her right back up.
“Seeing you broken and hurting and sad is like having someone stick a fucking knife in my chest. I don’t like it. So I’m pissing you off because it brings me great joy to see you fired up.”

Ariel had a lot more behind her brusque personality than we knew. That mouth covered some MAJOR insecurities and self-esteem issues, and it was wonderful to see Eric give her some of that confidence back.

“I swear to Christ if you say you’re too heavy, I will walk you out on the deck and toss you overboard,” he mutters angrily, tightening his arms around my back and under my legs as he hugs me tighter to his chest, carrying me like I weigh no more than a feather. “You’re perfect. Everything about you is fucking perfect.”

I have a ridiculous amount of quotes from this book. From laugh-out-loud moments (Goga anyone?) to snarky one-liners (Crocs! lol!) amazing friendship moments, to wonderfully sweet moments. This book had it all. Eric was one of my favorite book boyfriends ever. The way he helped Ariel build herself up instead of doing it for her could not have been more perfect.

“You’re the rarest antique I’ve ever seen, and I want to spend the rest of my life making sure you know how perfectly imperfect and extraordinary you are.”

Tara did a great job wrapping this series up in the epilogue, and I’m so sad we won’t get Pocahontas or Frozen, because I just loved the little movie tie-ins, they were genius.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention how much I loved the wonderful, supportive friendship between the women.

“In this day and age, it’s a beautiful thing to see women working together instead of trying to tear each other down.”

Likes:
•Tara Sivec’s brand of snarky humor just totally works for me.
•The clever tie-ins to the Disney movies (so many!). You don’t have to have seen the movies, but let me tell you, you really appreciate Tara’s creative gift more when you catch them all.
•Eric. Sigh….he could not have been more perfect for Ariel. I loved the way he let her figure it out with his help. He was so patient and perfect.
•How Tara was really able to address some important and emotional women’s issues in a fun way.
•The friendship between the three women.
•So many great quotes and snarky jokes I highlighted!
•This was the most emotional of the three.
•The series ending epilogue.

Dislikes:
There really isn’t anything I can think of!

The Down & Dirty:
Kiss The Girl is my favorite of the three books in the series, and that’s saying a lot because they are all 5 stars. Out of 125 books a year, only about 10 or less get 5 stars, but in this series all three did. The combination of Tara’s snarky, immature humor and hot and sexy fairytale romance with heart, mixed with tons of details from the Disney princess movies made this series one of the most creative I have read. Kiss the Girl kind of hit closer to home for me because I struggle with my self-esteem and I totally got Ariel. I loved seeing her start to heal with Eric. One of the things I enjoy so much about Tara’s romcoms are the friendships between the characters, and this series had it in spades. I want to be best friends with them! The Naughty Princess series is empowering, fun, sexy, romantic, and ridiculously clever. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

**AUDIOBOOK NOTE: I read the first book then listened and CJ Bloom could not have been a better narrator choice. I loved the way she had a different voice for each woman. I can’t wait to listen to the rest on audio as a re-read!
Rating: 5+ stars, 4 heat

Finally we get to the bottom of the brash, aloof rage-aholic known as Ariel. This little mermaid is going to rock your fish tank.

Once upon a time, Tara Sivec has a wildly entertaining idea. Three books later she still has me giggling like a school girl, wanting to download snapshot and follow a ragey teen, and find my own Disney-esque Prince.

Kiss The Girl is sweet romance with a sea witch, a king, and sailor. It's got naughty make out sessions, random facts, and spreadsheets. Clearly, Ms. Sivec brought the sexy.

Once upon a time three naughty princesses made a date and here is the culmination of that momentous occasion.

Thanks to NetGalley, Swerve, and Tara Sivec and team for a chance to read this DRC in exchange for an honest review.

Tara Sivec can write some great and fun characters and definitely think everyone should read these, even if romance isn't your preferred genre because of the comedic dialogue especially in this pairing of Ariel and Eric!

They were both tumultuous and antagonistic towards each other and that played off really well within the character traits that made for some great wordplay - Man the dialogue between these two is just so laugh out loud funny and sharp that as the story progresses, it was naturally that they fall in like and lust and then into love with each other.

Sivec's premise of taking these fairy tale heroines and placing them in a modern setting and world really let her take the heroines and have fun and that is so wonderfully realized in her portrayal of Ariel as she's anything but what Disney gave us (#notyourkidsdisney) that there was little doubt that Sivec had fun. Her fun and sharp wit is all over this like it was in the previous installment and this frenemies to lovers take of the Little Mermaid was just what I didn't know I needed till I read it.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ out of 5
I loved everything about this book and most especially all The Little Mermaid references including the title, a heroine named Ariel, a hero named Eric, the Triton family AND even an Ursula.
.
Ariel and her two best friends have started their own princess stripping business (crazy right?). Turns out Ariel is behind on her house repayments and everything gets reclaimed. Eric (friend of her besties’ boyfriends) comes to the rescue and lets her stay on one of his boats. Ariel can’t stand Eric thinking him a total man-whore but when they start spending time together he is anything but.
.
The heroine is loud, slightly crazy, swears a lot and does not care a fig what anyone else thinks. With a personality like that you wonder what type of hero will be her match. Eric was perfect and I was tempted to fight her for him. He loved her crazy, supported her, sung a Disney song for her and just let her be her. *sigh* can you tell how much I’m gushing over him? This book was laugh out loud fun, and honestly- perfect!

If you're looking for romantic comedy that's truly funny, look no further than The Naughty Princess Club series by Tara Sivec. Kiss the Girl is my first read in the series, but I'll be going back to meet Cindy and Belle! I laughed so much with, and at, Ariel, she really is such a unique character in the rom-com world. She doesn't take herself or anyone else too seriously, her language is colorful, and she's curvier than the usual rom-com heroine is presented as. I really liked her spunk, even if some of her reactions were over the top and not something I could even really picture.

The book, though a rom-com, focuses more on the friendship and strength of three best friends and the steps they take to free themselves from bad relationships. These women at one point felt lesser, but have since taken charge. They own a business, they find love, but mostly they find strength in just being themselves. In Ariel's case, she's learned needing and having a man aren't so bad, as long as he supports and loves you and puts up with your crazy antics. I loved how Tara Sivec put a lot of emphasis on confidence in Ariel's book, showing her overcoming her issues with her weight, embracing her love of food, finding a man who loves her as she is, and realizing that her insecurity is something she's built up within herself.

If you're looking for fun, easy reads with romance and strong female characters, look no further than The Naughty Princess Club series. These books are such a nice break from my usual reading and I loved Ariel and Eric, even more than I might like the original couple they parody.

This is my first book by this author and I must say I am now wondering why on earth I haven't read any of her booms before! Laugh out loud funny, angsty, sexy and heart warming, this book is everything I want in a romance novel. Now off to read the other books in this series and the authors back catalogue. Loved it.
