This author definitely knows how to draw a reader into her story from the first page. Characters have tremendous personalities, creating a connection early in the story. The dialog is engaging, the banter between the Hill siblings is laugh out loud hilarious, with the moments of tenderness between Will and Rusty pulling at the heartstrings.

Will is an especially exceptional character...he captured my heart early on with his gentle nature...not to mention he is the epitome of a cowboy...sexy and smart. Rusty’s feistiness jumps out at you, one moment she’s hard hearted, the next her sensitivity makes itself know when she berates herself for her behavior.

I’m looking forward to more stories about the Hill siblings...especially Autry and Jennings.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

Resisting the Rancher is the second book in the series and Rusty and Will’s story. Their romance was probably love at first sight, but a difficult upbringing with a cold and distant father left a Rusty emotionally scarred. However, Will’s love and the support of his large family helped her heal. This was Avery sweet, quick read.

I enjoyed this book as much as I did book one in the series.
This one centers around Rusty Walker and Williams/Will Hills.
She is an accomplish barrel racer, horse trainer, and daughter of a wealthy rancher. A man that thinks she isn’t capable of running his ranch, while in fact she is very capable . Will handles rodeo stock and is creating a name for himself and his family’s ranch . They meet at a rodeo and the chemistry is obvious, though she believes he is attracted to her only because of whom her father is.
They make a deal that will benefit both of them. Though Rusty is sure it will be only a marriage of convenience that has an expiration date, Will has other plans.
The plot was engaging and the characters complex. It’s a story about a family’s support or lack thereof. As well as a story about trust, goals, forgiveness and of course love. The storyline ran smoothly and if you read book 1, you will be happy to know that the characters make an appearance.
Looking forward to what the author has in store for us in future books.

Book two of the Hills of Texas series, Resisting the Rancher by Kadie Scott. A heart-warming story, a rodeo, the beginning of a possible romance, family. I enjoyed the first book Saving the Sheriff in this series and this book didn't disappoint. I look forward to reading more books in this series.

I received a free copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed resisting the Rancher. Will was a great male lead in the story falling in love with a girl who is terrified of getting close to people because of her relationship with her father. There were times where I had problems with Rusty's reactions but they did feel normal considering how she was raised. Enjoyable quick read.

Great short read.
When Rusty meets Willams there is an instant attraction. She has her reaons for not acting on it, but when she finds out about her father's changes to his will, could Williams be a way to solve all her problems?
