Mari ran away ten years ago after a broken heart and a misunderstanding. Now she is back opening her own business and trying to make amends to those from her past. When Ethan sees his lost love he can't believe she is back. He has so many questions he needs answered. There is one very import thing that Mari must come clean to Ethan about. Will he forgive her or will the secrets she carries ruin their chance at happiness? Nice quick read.
I liked the coming home again aspect of this as Mari tries to rebuild her life after divorce. I had a hard time accepting the rationale behind a secret baby aspect of this. Maybe if I'd read the prior 3 books in the series, I'd be more sympathetic to her plight.
Many thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

Although this is book 4 in a series, it can totally be read as a stand alone. I have not read any of the previous books and totally followed the story with no problems.
Mari is only back home as a dying wish from her late husband and so that her son can see where she grew up. However it soon becomes apparent that her son is actually has a father alive, the brother of her ex-husband.
Lots of plots secrets are slowly revealed to open the picture fuller and to show that she and her ex-husband had a few wires crossed with family members that could have been exposed by talking to each other.
It's a sweet read and Mari's son accepts his new reality really well.
I struggled with this one a bit. I liked some aspects but didn't like others. But, there were some things that I had a hard time getting past that impacted the overall experience of reading it. There wasn't a lot to this romance ... it was more of a story about coming home again and making amends with your past. There wasn't much actual romance to be had in this one - I'd definitely classify this one as a CLOSED door romance. I wonder if reading the earlier novels in the series would have helped me with this one a bit - I felt like I was catching up on the history of this couple for the entire book. Many of the decisions made by the various characters didn't make sense to me. I could have lived with one or two but it felt like every decision made didn't make sense to me based on the story. And it felt like the hero and heroine (and the other characters) all had the same conversation over and over and over. The story just never came together for me and I didn't love it. It's a fine book but it didn't blow me away. I'm not sure why but it appears that others enjoyed it more than I did. So, if the premise sounds interesting, please give it a shot.
Holy dysfunctional family! Ten years ago the Benson's were all the family Mari needed. She was in love with Ethan and the future looked bright. Then came the night that changed everything and she fled Cherry Lake as fast as she could. Now she's back with her son in tow ready to right all her wrongs and let the truth out. Will Ethan be willing to listen and open his heart again?
This is a very well done book and one I would definitely recommend. Although it is book 4 in a series it is easily read standalone.
I totally enjoyed reading Wedding Surprise by Ann B. Harrison, book four in The Moore Sisters of Montana series. Mari spent much of her teen years with her boyfriend’s family until a cruel misunderstanding had her fleeing her safe haven. Ten years later, single mother Mari returns to her hometown to open her own wedding and event business after refurbishing the historic Lake Hotel. She also wants to make amends with the boy she once loved and left, but there are too many secrets are holding her back. Contractor Ethan looks forward to working on the Lake Hotel but is shocked to learn that the girl he'd once loved and imagined marrying has moved back to Cherry Lake. He tells himself too much water's passed under that bridge, but Mari still lights him up. Ethan's heard that you can't go back again, but he is determined to show Mari what's she's missed all these years while she was away.
Mari now has the support of her half-sisters, father and step-mother, family she didn’t have the last time she lived in Cherry Lake and this emboldens her to let Ethan get to know his son. It also gives her the strength to ask Ethan’s mother, Pearl, for forgiveness for leaving the way she did. Running away might have seemed the best decision for Mari, given the circumstances at the time, but one wonders what would have happened if Ethan responded to her text messages or is she hadn’t left at the time. Both Mari and Ethan need to relearn how to trust each other before they can love again.
Ms. Harrison wrote a wonderful and moving story that is not to be missed. It had me laughing, crying and everything in between. This story is filled with endearing characters. I highly recommend this book to other readers and look forward to the next book in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I have loved every Moore sister’s story and enjoyed getting to know this unique group of women. Now it’s Mari’s turn in Wedding Surprise, a beautiful second chance at love story that will melt your heart.
Mari’s return to her hometown will come at a cost. She’s thrilled to be buying the Lake Hotel and turning it around with renovations for her wedding planning event business… and she purposefully accepted the bid of the one contractor she needed to be working on the hotel. Ethan, the boy who broke her heart, the one who believed others over her and didn’t come after her when she left town. Yes, she and Ethan had unfinished business, secrets that she needed to tell him about… and if she was lucky, forgiveness on both sides. She didn’t fool herself into thinking that they’d fall back into what they once were, but this was something she had no choice but to do, even if it broke her heart all over again.
Wedding Surprise is an emotional journey, maybe a second chance at a lost love but definitely a story that will touch your heart as two people who once loved each other let people, things, issues come between then only to regret that decision soon after. Now is their time — if they can go beyond what was and embrace what could be for them in the future. We’ll get glimpses of other characters, the beauty of the area and that down home small town romance feel that I am addicted to. If you love a good solid believable second chance romance, then this one is for you.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
I had no idea this was the fourth book in a series. It can be very easily read as a standalone. I did not feel lost at all. I was actually happy to know there are more books to read with these characters. I loved the authors writing style. I really enjoy second chance romances. I loved the main characters Mari and Ethan. I loved how after all these years they are back in each others lives and there is still that spark. Of course, nothing is what it seems and they need to learn how to forgive each other in order to move on. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes a good second chance romance. This one was written really well!!!
Lovely book...it’s part of a series but can totally be read as a stand alone book. The characters are believable and well rounded. The story line is quite interesting and not your average romance novel. I very much enjoyed the book and I added the previous books out of the series onto my “to-read” list
I really wanted to love this story but I only made it a couple of chapters in and couldn't read any more. The prologue and first chapter are packed with back story which comes out in n info-dump of dialogue. I could see the story but all that angst at the beginning just didn't grab me enough to find out where it was going.

This was part of a series and used the troupe of baby the father knew nothing about. It was a complicated tale with weaving a lot of family connections, brothers, misunderstandings and the lingering love each person still had.
Mari’s half sister Bella- who was a famous chef now and had won Masterchef a couple of years ago- said Mari looked pensive. Mari had come back to honor her promise to Rake- Ethan’s deceased brother and her husband who had been dead two years now. Mari also had to let Ethan know he was the biological father of her son Noah who was ten. But Mari was very scared. Mari had hired Ethan’s company to do some remodeling on The Lake Hotel which she owned. So she had no choice but to come clean with Ethan. But Ethan had been the one who had dumped Mari when the were a lot younger and then she learned she was pregnant and tried to contact Ethan and he would not answer her call. Ethan also had backed her against his father had sided with his father which left Mari no choice but to leave. Mari was afraid Ethan would mae Noah- their son- difficult. Mari knew losing Rake who was the only father Noah had known and loved and had been hard on Noah as well as her. Mari loved to take something old and broken and make them shine again., The same as April her youngest sister did. April took the empty shop Mari owned and turned it into a decorating and florist building. Mari was having parts of the old hotel redone to restart her wedding business . Mari dreaded going to her foster parents- Pearl and Jeff who were also Ethan’s parents. and begging them to forgive her and follow up on Rake’s plan for her to fit in again. Ethan came into the hotel yelling hello and Mari now had to the man she had fallen in love with when he was a boy. Rake had been nothing like his younger brother . Rake had been honest to a fault with those he loved . Ethan drew Mari into a hug something she didn’t expect, as she had expected anger maybe even hatred as she had deserted him without a word even if he had broke up with her and then she seen him making out with another girl. He had announced she was hemming him in. making decisions for him that he didn’t want tp be part of any more and had broke up with her and broke her heart. Mari ended up leaving with Raft as he found her at the side of the road. After Mari had left Ethan ahd felt so much guilt. He also realized he’d made a huge mistake. He had still loved Mari hen he broke up with her but it had been too late to take the horrible words back he had said to her. Ethan understood Rake’s decision to leave and follow his dream to become a famous boxer. But he had taken Mari with him and married her and they hadn’t bothered to stay or make any contact with Ethan or his parents. Then Ethan said thinking back he wasn’t sure Mari did anything wrong . He knew Mari better than his father did and Ethan had doubts Mari had stolen anything like his father had claimed. He was sorry he didn’t have Mari’s back back then. Ethan and Mari had been best friends when they were in school and were like peas in a pod. Pearl and Jeff had taken MAri in when Mari’s mother -Betty- had taken off and left her on her own. Mary felt normal when she was around Ethan.
I loved this second chance novel . This was emotional but a great read. So much misunderstandings, hurt, and pain but in the end our couple got their HEA. I loved Ethan and Mari together and how they interacted with each other. I loved how Noah took the news Ethan was actually his father and how he interacted with Ethan as well as his grandma Pearl and grandpa Jeff. I advise you to read the first three books of this series in order just makes everything come together. I loved that we were shown why everything happened the way it did. I loved the ending of this book. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend.
Wedding Surprise is a heart stirring story of family secrets and second chances. Mari and Ethan see other after many years, with regrets, hurts, angst and drama. Ann B. Harrison catches your attention at the beginning then holds it through out the book. Since the book is realistic there are family members whose actions you dislike as well as those characters in general. There are also family that you come to adore. Sounds like life, doesn’t it?
The plot unfolds at a fairly quick pace, no instant love sine the characters have all know each other for many years, even though there were apart. An HEA is expected but the journey to getting there is riddled with many complications forming barriers to overcome along the way.
Wedding Surprise is part of a series but read surprisingly well as a stand-alone.
I enjoyed this read this book it was a quick read full of angst and keeps you interested the whole time. It makes you sit on the edge of your seat wondering what caused this situations and drama. I felt so bad for Mari and honestly did not feel bad for Ethan, his mom, and definitely not his dad. They all played a part in running Mari and Rale away and into each other’s arms but in the end things worked out and I was glad for it. If your looking for something that’s steamy and sexy this book is t it but if your looking for a angsty, and heart breaking and heart mending read this is it.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the books in the Cherry Lake series all written about the lives of four sisters in a small town. This book, the last of the series, is all about Mari and the problems she has to face-problems that started ten years prior and are still existing to plague her.
Mari left Cherry Lake not knowing she was pregnant with Ethan’s baby. She connected with his brother, Rake, on the outskirts of town and Rake took her under his wing. Neither Rake nor Mari had contact with his left behind family because of the stress and strain imposed by them. Mari had returned to Cherry Lake after Rake died and has a bundle of messy things she has to do for him, including coming clean with Ethan about his son. She can only hope for the best outcome for both her son and for herself.
I enjoy second chance and secret child romances so I was excited by the description of this book. There is a decent story here but the way the story is told feels repetitive and it really threw off my ability to emotionally connect with this story. I did enjoy some of the family drama aspects of the book but I really wanted more romance.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
"Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review."
Loved this book very much. It had just enough comedy & sweet romance and the storyline was great! I highly recommend!
Wedding Surprise by Ann B. Harrison follows lead character Mari who moves back to her home town with her 10-year old son after the recent death of her husband. She starts up a wedding business in an old hotel, but it requires quite extensive renovations first. Who does she hire to complete these renovations? None other than her old boyfriend, Ethan! Mari has to shed many secrets before they can even consider being together again, but will it be too much for Ethan? Can they forgive each other for what happened in the past?
When I received a copy of this novel from Netgalley, I did not realize that this was part of an ongoing series. However, it had received pretty decent reviews, so I figured why not! But, I think this was part of the reason why I didn't enjoyed it very much. I felt like I was missing major information because I did not read the previous novels in this series. Honestly, the novel was a little bit boring, but again perhaps it may be because I did not have a connection with these characters - they had no previous history to me.
Also, this didn't particularly feel like a romance novel to me. There was like one kissing scene and hardly any "woo-ing". Lastly, I felt like a lot of things were sort of repetitive throughout the story; the characters kept going back to the same issues over and over again. Like, clean out your ears, buddy and listen!
Sorry, this just was not a novel for me, but perhaps other readers will enjoy it! 3/5 stars
Mari is back in Cherry Lake to start new life with his son Noah. Mari’s late husband Rake wanted Mari to raise Noah with his family. Now all of her half sisters are settled in Cherry Lake near her.
Not only Mari back here to rebuild the hotel her late husband bought, she need to fulfill his last wishes that is to rebuild their relationship with his family.
Mari’s mom was an drug addict who did not take care of her, but Rake’s family gave her home. Their family gave normal family life for Mari. She found love as well in Rake’s family. Mari and Rake’s brother Ethan was madly in love. She thought he was the one for her but one fight pushed her away and she ran away from them.
When she was running away, she ran into Rake and they never looked back. Now she is back to where everything started.
Before Rake passed away, he wanted Mari to fulfill his wishes. She wasn’t ready until she hired Ethan to renovate her hotel ballroom.
Now they have to open their past to move on with their lives. Mari secrets she must share with Ethan. But will they bury their past and move on.
Moore sister stories were good summer read. Mari’s story was most dramatic of all. Mari’s secret were kept a bit long ( for my taste) and she was with both brothers. It did have HEA. I would give 3 1/2 ⭐️
Thanks to Netgalley and Tule Publishing for my ARC in exchange for honest review.
This book has a lot of conflict and secrets in it. Mari arrives back in Cherry Lake with her son Noah. One of the secrets is that his dad was not Rake it’s Ethan. Ethan was her first love, her true love. There is bumps in the road of relationships. But it all works out in the end.
