I enjoyed reading this book but would not buy it. Although the content is good, mostly, I did not like the scripts of interviews and do not agree promoting bad and vile comments on social media. It was well structured, with the incident first and the subsequent findings and storyline emerging from the people involved. All in all a reasonable book

The third book in the DI Fawley series and I was not disappointed! It really feels like you're a part of the story, especially as you learn so much more about each individual detective - both personally and professionally
Similar to the previous two books, my theories were similar to the characters but like any police case, it isn't as straight forward as you think but all the pieces of the puzzle make so much sense when they finally come together
Thanks again to NetGalley for the chance to read it in advance

Having read the first two Cara Hunter books I was really looking forward to her third one. A gripping and suspense filled novel, going between the present day, with the police team and invesigators, and the days leading up to the fire for the family involved. Keeps you gripped and guessing till the end. Only thing I wasn't so sure about were all the social media clips, breaking up my reading of the story line. Overall though another brillant storyline, Would definitely recommend anyone to read Cara Hunter's novels.

Set in Oxford, this is a police procedural novel, but with a difference.

DI Adam Fawley, is in the middle of a personal crisis, with his wife having left him and he’s struggling with it, hoping she will return.

There is then a fire and two young children and their mother die tragically. This is found to be arson and the investigation begins.

I loved the way this was set out, Adam Fawley’s chapter are from his point of view, and the others from a third person view. There are then chapters giving the background of the Edmond family before the fire, with family secrets and lies. It also covers the stigma still attached to Post Natal Depression very sympathetically.

There is also a chapter covering the fire itself and this was heartbreaking, some real emotion here.

There are twists and turns leading up to the final reveal in all it’s tragic glory. A brilliant read.

I would like to thank the Author/the Publishers/NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a fair and honest review

I’d like to thank Penguin Books UK and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘No Way Out’, the third in the DI Adam Fawley series written by Cara Hunter, in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

On the 4th January, Oxfordshire Fire & Rescue Service are called out to a house on fire that is soon treated as arson. DI Adam Fawley is phoned by newly-promoted DS Chris Gislingham to make him aware of the fire as the body of toddler, Zachary, is found, his brother Matty is fighting for his life, then shortly afterwards the body of their mother Samantha. But where is the boys’ father, Michael Esmond, who’s supposed to be in London and isn’t answering his phone? As the father doesn’t come forward and is unable to be found, this case is possibly the most distressing one Fawley has ever had to investigate.

‘No Way Out’ is a gripping and captivating thriller, and a welcome addition to the DI Fawley series. It has a complex and fast-paced plot with twists and turns and lots of suspense, but what makes it so different to other thrillers is how it makes me I feel that I’m in the middle of a real life police investigation rather than a fictional one, with newspaper reports, readers’ comments, interviews and phone conversations integrated into the story. The way that parts of the Esmond family’s life are inserted into the narrative gives the reader an understanding of what happened several months prior to the fire and leading to the present time. I’ve enjoyed catching up with Fawley’s team, discovering how DS Gislingham is progressing since being promoted and DC Quinn demoted. This is a tremendously enjoyable thriller and I can thoroughly recommend it.

So excited to be reading the third DI Fawley series. And did not disappoint,
Again fantastic writing and plot building, fast paced, addictive, full of twist and turns.
Hooked from start to finish.

Cara Hunter is in my top 10 authors.

I’ve been waiting to read this last book (maybe?) in DI Fawley’s story. And it did not disappoint. It had the classic Cara Hunter writing, with a twist at the end but also very sad. Her stories are so human. You feel sorry for the circumstances her characters fall into. It’s almost like it’s not their fault, yet it is! I really loved the new beginning for Adam and his wife as I was dreading the end. Thank you for giving me this opportunity and look forward to more DI Fawley’s investigations.

This book is fantastic! It is my favourite book this year so far (and I have read some real crackers) I am anticipating this being made into a mini series - surely it is perfect. I didn't realise that this book was part of a series and so I read this as a stand alone novel.
I loved the characters and boy, there were a couple of really good twists! I will be recommending this wherever I can.
Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for an advance digital copy in exchange for an honest review.

My thanks to Viking (Penguin Books) and Netgalley for the copy of this ebook in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.
A point to note; I do not do spoilers or dwell on the plot and story. If you want these I suggest you read the publisher's blurb and other reviews - my interest is in the author and her/his craft.
Cara Hunter is moving the scales - her plotting , characterisation and pace are setting new boundaries for other crime writers to follow. Those who have followed her series will know of D. I. Fawley now get to know the other members of his team.
Cara Hunter has found a new and resfreshing way to lay out the book and her plotting is as sharp as ever misleading the reader then forcing them to see wher the story is going.
A great read and the earlier novels are nearly as good.

This is another DI Fawley book. but I do like that all the characters of his team are well rounded and developed.

Who has started the fire in a well to do residential area, and how many bodies are inside? Fawley and his team piece together the story, while we are given some of the back story. Was Michael a caring husband or a controlling, abusive man?

Gripping to the end.

What a fantastic book this was to read. Kept me intrigued from the off and gripped the more I read of it.

This was an incredible book, I loved the pace of it and the characters, the plot seemed quite simple but was far from this and unbelievably complex. From a mother's point of view I fell in love with Matt and Zachary and the final pages had me in tears as we finally learnt what happened during the fateful night of the fire. This is not the first book I have read by this author so I always look forward to new episodes involving the wonderful characters she portrays in the police force, she will remain one of my favourites. I highly recommend this read, it was brilliantly written with an immense eye for detail whether in the form of police procedures or the minds of those involved in this crime. I can't praise it highly enough.

This third novel in the DI Fawley series was a real page-turner. A house fire exposes dark secrets within a family, and the novel certainly keeps the reader guessing. I love the familiar characters, and how the back stories follow their own lives, particuarly that of the rather inscrutable DI Farley himself. I found some elements of the plot to be a bit of a stretch, but overall an engrossing and satisfying novel.

Another great book in this series, brilliantly written with the help of social media snippets. Fantastic characters dealing with a shocking crime. Packed full of twists and turns I highly recommend it.

Thank you to NetGalley for a chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review. This is the 3rd book in the DI Adam Fawley series written by Cara Hunter. This book like the others in that it is fast paced and twisting so its a very engaging read. However I will be honest and say its not my favourite book of the series I felt the first 2 plots were stronger but I am definitely looking forward to reading the next case as the characters are great and the plots are very clever.

I like this series very much and was pleased to have the chance to read No Way Out. The characters in the police force are strong and it was good to read the next instalment of their lives. I felt the pace was slower in the first half than in the previous two books, but the pace in the second half made up for this! The subject matter is serious and at times sad - it concerns the deaths of several family members in a house fire in Oxford - but it’s a page-turner and I’m looking forward to the next in the series. The ending was very satisfying.

Good addition to the series, I have to confess first person novels are not my favourite, I get quite confused about who is doing what, however a first person novel it is.

Pacy and well judged for the modern era with news snippets and email extracts all adding to the authenticity. The case itself is dark and really quite gut churning at times - I hate it when kids are involved ! Its a good read and well worth getting hold of.

I will be looking out for the next one in the series

Carefully plotted 3rd novel in the DI Fawley series.
It doesn’t matter of you haven’t read the others, it reads well as a stand alone too.
Following a dreadful house fire in Oxford it soon becomes clear that this was not an accident. Two children have been found one didn’t survive and the other is barely clinging on to life. Why were they in the house alone? Where are their parents? DI Fawley and his team begin a murder investigation that moves along swiftly with lots of twists and turns to peak your interest.
